Of course the term is excluding. It would be meaningless if it were not. “Everything is beautiful” means that the term “beautiful “ does no work in picking out some things from others.

Would've loved to see the unedited version.
Feels so fake to have everyone's opinion magically fit any company's PR vision.

Just like that handsome 85 year old hunk with no teeth, no hair, and no bladder control.
Just as sexy as Harry Styles.

the madness of these people is astounding, it's a religious craze the Puritans would have been proud of.

This is the most ridiculous campaign yet. Beauty is and always will be in the eye of the beholder.

that's actually not true, there are objective beauty standards, symmetry, proportions etc. and they're universal. They're not absolute standards of beauty, they may have different ones on Mars, but from our vantage point we see symmetrical and proportional as beautiful and harmonious.

@@toobalkain Even by your rationale, beauty standards are quite subjective because they are not absolute. At the end of the day, you cannot tell me what I find beautiful nor can I tell you. I don’t know this “we” you speak of. Everyone has their own standards.

@@karenseals9498 it's not "my rationale", it's the philosophy of aesthetics, it's been around for 1000s of years, there's nothing new in what I'm saying. You need to look up the definitions of terms, you're using the words wrong, subjective is not the opposite of absolute, relative is, there is no absolute truth so there are no absolute beauty standards, either, but there is such a thing as objective truth, 2+2=4, an objective fact, objective simply means having a fixed point of reference, when it comes to beauty, our point of reference is our innate appreciation for symmetry and proportion, that's all, we see something as beautiful, including people, because of symmetry and proportion, same with architecture or anything else, it's just the way it is, I didn't make the rules, they were already in play when I got here.

@@karenseals9498 of course, you can make up your own rules about anything, but ask a million people what they find beautiful and you will see a clear pattern, a preference for symmetry and proportion. When it comes to beauty of humans, p.ex. women, there will also be a bias towards youth and fitness as they are indicators of fertility. One could argue that's more sexual attraction than objective beauty but the two overlap.

@@toobalkain I am not using the wrong words. In context, they are accurate. Beauty standards are not absolute (fixed) or objective (factual). They are subjective (influenced by one’s own personal biases) depending on the entity that is setting the standard. For example, white men prefer thin women with slender hips and thighs. That is the typical beauty standard in that community. Is that fixed or factual, absolutely not? On the other hand, black men prefer women with curvy, full, hips, thighs and bottoms. That is the typical standard in that community. Some cultural standards are the bigger, the better….no symmetry and proportions needed. Beauty standards simply aren’t absolute or objective. Furthermore, beauty standards do not equal what someone may consider beautiful. While you may accept certain beauty standards as beautiful, I may find them hideous. I’ll say it again, and it’s a really basic concept, you nor I, nor beauty standards can dictate what someone believes to be beautiful.
