I’m 29 and I loved playing with lite brights and Lincoln logs. They were my favorite toys.
I feel like I could say "My mother was talking about Woodstock..." and Jay would appear and say "True story, I was actually one of the founders of Woodstock. So that's wild you mention that." and then just disappear.
Thanks to Jay, for letting us know he was a face of mine and many others childhood.

I was lowkey obsessed with lincoln logs as a child. (Born in 2003) Which just made me realize that thats probably why i love building things so much.

I remember playing with the barrel of monkeys as a kid in the 1960s.
I had multiple sets in the late 80s early 90s timeless
im was a y2k kid and i remember playing with them and my sister when she got back from school.
I'm nearly 70 now, but remember, clearly, wanting a gyroscope. They were being demonstrated in all the toy stores in London, one christmas. I was never allowed one, because it was a "boys" toy! I finally got to play with one when i bought one for my daughter, about 35 years ago.
Another "boy's" toy i wasnt allowed was "Meccano" a construction kit, but for some reason Lego was allowed.

Regarding the gyroscope... In the 60's-70's they came with a string and there was a hole in the axle. You had to thread the string through the hole, then wind up the string before pulling on it to spin the gyro.
16:40 i was born in 2011 but I have that at home and I would play it with my family all the time I loved it so much.
That intro actually scared me.

Holy Crap!! Kris literaly scared the $hit out of me. And I love how Kris always compliments us in the beginning of each video, and how she makes us laugh.
The Lincoln Logs gave me so many flashbacks, they were one of my favorite toys.
So Lite Brite actually had a bulkier version in the early 90’s that resembled a small computer monitor (think apple’s first Mac and less colorful). The colorful “beads” were smaller and the peg board part was larger. You actually plugged it into the wall and there was a light bulb inside of it that if it burnt out, you had to unscrew about 4-6 screws to get to. I miss my Lite Brite actually, but it was so much fun!
Kris’s reactions to these bizarre toys are absolutely priceless. This is the kind of unique and hilarious content that really brightens up the day. Jay’s editing is awesome as usual!

Fun fact: when my mom was a kid, her and a friend had pet rocks.They would pick rocks from her friend's driveway, paint them and make them beds. This was *before* they started selling them in stores. She was very confused.

The amount of nostalgia I got from this video is crazy! Bright lite and the Lincoln logs were my absolute favorite as a kid.

When I was a kid we had giant lego blocks, a remote controlled train and a Rugrats Tommy Doll. I only watched vhs tapes of Rugrats episodes we bought from Blockbuster so even though we couldn't afford cable, I instantly became a Rugrats fan watching the episodes on VHS. But I also vividly remember a lot of toys I had and being disappointed because they didn't work as advertised on TV most of the time. But that taught me to temper my expectations for certain things I buy.
It's interesting how toys can be used to teach as well as entertain kids. When you're a kid you don't really notice that you're learning stuff when you're just playing. But it works.

there's a library in okc (oklahoma city) that has a big ass version of the light bright, highly recommend if you ever have kids or need to take care of them, they have science stuff sometimes two, and there's a slide and a place where you can play videogames or on ipad and its all up to date, and it has legos, i could go on & on on how cool the okc library is, but i'll cut it short, the place is cool, you should go.

I had monkeys in a barrel too growing up. A lot of 80’s/90’s toys died after 2010. I’m 20 and had a child hood of one that grew up in the 90’s. I miss it.

I totally had a barrel of monkeys as a kid. They slowly all went missing, and now we find one every once in a while in random boxes and totes.... It's probably been around 12 years since we lost the majority of them.... We have moved several times and somehow they have suck with us... They're haunting us at this point.
