in the ultra sun pokedex it states that "Due to malnutrition, the males can’t evolve." i hope we get some kind of regional form of salandit which the males can evolve due to the females not taking all of their food.

Salazzle's thick thighs make sense, because of her sprawling positioning of her limbs (classical of salamanders and some reptiles), and how she often stands on her hind legs, she's basically standing in the least efficient way possible, so she gotta be strong for that.

Salazzle was actually on my first Moon playthrough. I was actually really lucky since I didn't know only female Salandit evolved and a female just so happened to be my first encounter. It was really fun to use especially since it had Dragon Pulse and I thought that was the coolest thing back then.
Dragon Pulse is really cool to round out the move set! And ties in with its mythical inspiration.
@@GatorEX Definitely. Plus it's just a cool move in general. Especially in the anime where the Pokemon basically shoots out purple energy shaped like a Dragon.
My first salandit was female as well in the usum games. But since it was recently I already knew about the whole female rarity thing so I named her “lucky”.

I don't dislike Salazzle...tho its a tad bit uncomfortable at times. Hell its based on a dominatrix. In a game that targets children...yeah its a tad bit uncomfortable. But still I don't hate it. Its interesting unlike sunflora which its just a walking sunflower.

This is a very slick design, both shiny and regular. Poison/Fire is a cool combo, they work pretty well, and Corrosion letting it poison whatever it wants is a good gimmick. Salazzle is pretty cool
offensively fire/poison is pretty alright, but defensively is where the type kinda falls apart as both types dont work well together on defense, which is reflected well in salazzle's stats given how frail she is
She is a beautiful glass cannon. It's terrifying the moment a clod of dirt shows up around her 😢
@@Dani-Claw I got lucky and hatched a shiny girlie in Violet very quickly, and she's an amazing lead to my team. Basically, show up, poison or burn most matchups, slap away their items, or even take a fall for the team if needed.

I honestly love salandit wayyyyy more, maybe it’s because I had a male salandit on my sun and moon play through, but he just stuck with me.
I love the sticky hand looking design on the back lol. Honestly wish it would’ve had like a branched evolution or something.
Same here, while I also like Salazzle’s design, Salandit is one of my favorites, partially because I gravitate to more simple designs (animator brain go brrr) but also because there’s a couple little details it has that I really like. (Like the little sticky hand pattern Gator mentioned, and the little tags on its neck that make it look like it has a bandit’s mask)

Honestly, I appreciate how they are actually pretty subtle about making the creature design so feminine and sleek, yet undeniably a reptile with a goofy lizard brain and face. Like, this creature may look like she's wesring eyeliner, but she doesn't look like she could actually be a human in a suit, this is definitely the kind of wild animal that probably inspired fashion trends in pokemon history.
I too enjoyed the Bionicle franchise a lot. Really surprised to see a reference twenty years later, but good to see the gang's out there. Peace my friends

Salandit and Salazzle are some of my top favorite Pokémon too, but lizards are my favorite animal so just about all of the lizard Pokémon are my favorites. I got a Salazzle in Moon, transferred her into Sword, and now I intend to bring her into Violet. I just love how she scuttles around - same wirh Salandit. They're super adorable 'mons and I love their cries in the game. I did always think Salazzle looked a little awkward because of her, uh.... Stance. But I really like her concept.

I have a Salazzle named Riley, after my first pet lizard who has passed. She was a desert grassland whiptail lizard, an interesting species that can only be female. I caught her in a nest ball and she's like lvl 80 now. I cherish her and smile, as she reminds me of my beloved pet 💝🦎🦎

and for a while Corrosion was the signature ability of salazzle, until gen 9 came along and added in glimmora who also has corrosion

I agree that Salazzle is among the sussiest Pokémon designs. And I love that they don't hide it. It allows the adults that still play the games go "Hmm, interesting.", while it goes over the heads of the kids.
I never really got to deep into having a fully evolved Salazzle, but I named the one female Salandit I caught Risky Boots, after the pirate queen from the Shantae games, whose whole crew are her loyal robotic Tinkerbats.
Yes, the reverse harem dynamic is the reason why I gave the name.
It’s nice to find some fellow reptile enthusiasts, a large majority of my favorite Pokémon are either reptiles, bugs, or invertebrates, and salandit is also one of my favorites. Also really nice to see new Pokémon snap getting the recognition it deserves, it was the game that got me back into the franchise simply for how much life it gave the Pokémon through its animations.

While I'm generally not a huge fan of blatant furbait Pokémon, I think Salazzle is the best of them because in its form and movements it is still MOSTLY a lizard. While Lopunny looks like a humanoid in a bunny suit and Gardevoir is just an abstract humanoid, Salazzle looks like a lizard that evolved to attract human prey, and on top of that it is explicitly a predator as opposed to the other ladymons that love their trainers or look humanoid for no reason. As far as "sexy lizard" goes for a concept, I can respect that about it.

I completely agree! Salazzle is one of my fav pokemon as well. Lizards like Salazzle just naturally look a little more humanoid but still maintains it's animal-like appearance which is why I like it so much compared to blatant furbait like Lopunny or Cinderace
I and alot of other furries don't consider gardevoir a furry (no snout/ actual animal features) looks more like a weird alien

Open the folder, it's just multiple MP4 files of Salazzle doing it's little dance to many different songs.
It’s typing is also unique, 8 type resistances with only 4 type weaknesses. Granted those weaknesses tend to be physical based but there’s a surprising amount of natural bulk from being a poison fire type alone.

Salazzle is one thing, but Salandit just looks like a goofy little fellow, I love it
I don't need to hear you out, I absolutely understand. Allluring design, fun typing, neat ability, and functional stats (at least for SM), all reasons to love Salazzle. It made it to my endgame team, and I almost never took it off the team because it was so useful. Not my absolute favorite SM pokemon and not even my favorite Poison Type, but it's definitely up there in Pokemon for me.

Salazzle has always been one of my favorite Pokemon ever since I first got mine in Sun. With a great Typing, a very charming design, an amazing Ability, along with a amazing Speed Stat too, how could anyone NOT want this on their team?!
Salazzle is also my most favorite gen 7 Pokémon and definitely in the spot for one of my most favorite Pokémon of all time! You’re so right that she needs more appreciation

Poison/Fire is such a grand typing for an offensive Pokémon. Solid speed, good Sp. Attack, a movepool that allows multiple roles and Corrosion ...isn't actually that good, but still an option to considered.
Also, I like its back flap cape thingie.
She did good work for me back when I played OU. Corrosion is noteworthy in that it was one (very risky) method of crippling Toxapex. The super low bulk means that Toxapex's low Attack stat doesn't stop it from Liquidating her to dust.
salazzle has so much personality in its design, it's one of my favs for sure!

I always use Salazzle on my gen 7 teams whenever I do a playthrough because I always end up picking Rowlet or Popplio as my starter, I just feel like it's really good in those games specifically (since in gen 8 and 9 I have different pokemon covering those types already like Toxtricity and Skeledirge)

Salazzle was on my main Violet team. Despite the Corrosion ability I opted to used Will o wisp over Toxic more often. Cutting the enemies attack in half can really buff her survivability. Wish poison had stat cutting abilities like burn and Paralysis. Legends Arceus experimented with frost bite lowering special attack, and drowsy lowering defense. Maybe poison could lower special defense?
I shiny hunted for Salandit and Salazzle in Violet a couple months ago. Found them both pretty quickly and without Herba Mystica, just in outbreaks with the shiny charm.

I used a Salazzle in my playthrough of Scarlet (after already playing Violet) and it's a lot better than I thought it would be. Early game moveset is pretty bad, but getting Nasty Plot and Toxic does a lot to get you through the game

Salazzle is MY Fave Poison-type of all. She's one of those few Poison-type Mons I actually wanted to raise because of their Poison-typing. She's also the 1st Member of that specific category to be in A Main Team. PLUS Toxic +Corrosion Ability OR Venoshock is always fun to do

As a salamander pet owner, I love salazzle. I am an old school player who generally prefers the first few gens designs, but Salazzle is fire (quite literally)!

Somehow the first salandit i found while playing through ultra sun was female, i was planning on using salazzle from the beginning so that was a nice surprise
Salazzle really grew on me in gen 8 when I was breeding for a female one and accidentally hatched a shiny. It was male but this was before egg glitch was patched so I was able to evolve it. Salazzle ended up being my go to Pokémon to grab that game if I needed a random high level Pokémon.

@@AlphaStoutland It actually turned female in the evolution. I think it does something similar to the marill thing where the two gender ratios don’t line up so it changes gender on evo, but that’s just a theory.

I found a shiny Salazzle on the GTS named Sabrina. The girl who had her used her in the elite 4 battles and had a bunch of medals on her. I always nickname all my pokemon, so to me, Sabrina's pretty special and fits right in on the team. One of the only GTS pokemon ive ever gotten that became a main team member
I love salazzle, she’s on my list of favorites for “a reason”.
I used one in SM as well, and enjoyed using her. She is indeed cool Pokemon. Although I still think that her ability to poison steel and poison types would be much better on a defensive Pokemon. With her being fast attacker, there is no reason to use her very unique ability.
