Hi GA! Love nickels! 7:04 - fairly confident you’ve got a 1941-s/s Large S FS-502! It’s obviously worn, but you can clearly see the remnant of the original S precisely where it should be (right underneath the bottom curve of the S). PCGS shows decent value at low grades if you can find a buyer.
Thank you for your thoughts. Now I am all excited. I thought I saw some metal behind the larger S but wasnt sure so didn't want to mis-call it in the video. Now I need to look into it some more and verify. Will let you all know what I find.
My first batch of nickels is arriving any day now. watching this gets me excited soberly. thank you for taking the time to record your review. very educational
@@GASilverHunter Am about half way through the box of 50 rolls, and am sorting by decades currently. Some interesting years popped up..a 1938 but cannot tell if Monticello is doubled, a 1940, a 1946, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1958, 1959...i will do another 10 rolls later.
You would know if the Monticello was doubled. Even with an iphone zoom you should be able to see it. Nickels are a lot of fun. Lots to look for and really nice when you hit some old buffalos or V Nickels.
Quite the exceptional nickel box! Good mix of finds, love it. Great video. I think that '88 was more die deteriorated than a grease strike and don't forget a nickel must be mint state in order to receive the full steps designation. AU/XF etc will never get full steps on a pcgs or NGC slab. Looking forward to your next upload.
Great finds GA most of my nickles recently have been new so I am taking a small break from boxes but have been doing customer wrapped. Just got a 1923P buffalo out of a roll!
Was shocked when going through the rolls and both of those beautiful 1939s came up. So far people seem to think I may have a pretty good 41S Variety. Need to dig around some more to verify.
Fun little hunt GA. I agree with that 1941S being a large S, and I am inclined to say you have an inverted S as well on the smaller S, but don't trust the words of a deranged man. Also, one dreams of finding that many 1939s in a box lol
I thought I saw a bit of metal behind the S but wasn't sure if it was an over-mint mark while recording. I really appreciate your thoughts. Makes me want to dig into this one some more and verify.
@@GASilverHunter Faz is in fact deranged. Don’t be misled. A few months ago I was digging into this perplexing “41-s inverted mintmark” trying to make sense of it. From what I remember, the confusing part is that the S mintmark has multiple different fonts with slightly different serifs. The mintmark in your video appears to be the wrong style for the “inverted” variety. Go to PCGS for the normal 1941-s 5c, and click View More Images. Scroll through those and try to spot the subtle difference between the two styles of “Small S” mint marks.
Hi - love your channel - I’m a new collector, so I have a question: with all the key date duplicates, especially the non-silver coins how do you store them? Thank you
Depends on who you talk to and where you are in the country. In Georgia, 9 out of 10 people would look at you like a moron if you pronounced it that way... even though it is technically correct.
I haven't been able to get a box of nickels in a bit. My credit union hasn't gotten coins in in their last two shipments. They don't know why. So I'm living through this video for now haha. I'll go back tomorrow and see if they got a shipment in. Great hunt! Lots of nice finds.
$15 to $25 for the Large S circulated? I've found two or three of those and when I looked online they weren't going for nearly that much. Interesting. Maybe I've got to start keeping them when I find them haha. I've thus far only kept the nicest one.
That sure was alot of finds. Congratulations on the additions and upgrades. Nice video.
Thanks 👍

Awesome hunt GA! Lots of fillers!
Thanks CoinFlip!

Thanks Vincent!
just got my book spiral bound today. Thanks for the tip.
Isn’t it awesome.
Very Good nickel hunt I wish I could find some of them for my collection.
This has been the best nickel box I have had in quite some time for the album.
Great finds GA most of my nickles recently have been new so I am taking a small break from boxes but have been doing customer wrapped. Just got a 1923P buffalo out of a roll!
That happened to me 2022. Of If I got 5 boxes… 4 of them would be brand new 2022s.
very nice hunt! lots of 30's to 50's and a ton of S mints, and even some silvers! love the 1939 in AU, amazing condition

I watch 3 different coin roll hunters and everyone needs that 1950d
It think I actually have one. Just didn't find it roll hunting so its not in the album.
I've been searching Nickels myself. The only Ag that I've pulled was a 1943 "P". '39, '41 and '43 seem to be a little more common.
My best ever was picking up like 6 rolls of them in a customer dump like 4 years ago. Normally I am lucky to get 1 per box.
'58s mintages were quite lower than other years. The. Philly edition had only 17.4 million.
For being low mintage I get A TON OF THEM.
That 58 Philly is a semi key date too 17 million minted

@JJJRRRJJJ Are we agreed that the Large S is also a S over S and the Small S is likely just a Small S?
@@GASilverHunter I would agree!

Do you keep the older nickels? Like from 59 and below or not? I have been and have a huge bag of them...Thanks!
I do. I purged a bunch of rolls a few years ago so I started recollecting them.
Hi - love your channel - I’m a new collector, so I have a question: with all the key date duplicates, especially the non-silver coins how do you store them? Thank you
I unusually keep the rarer stuff in 2x2 cardboard flips. Stuff that I find lots of I keep in labeled coin tubes.
And thanks for watching and your comment.
He’s back!
He sure is trying to be! :-)
39 with steps have ddr?
Nope. I checked every coin I pulled for DDOs, DDRs, etc. IF it made the video it's what I found.
It’s virtually impossible to get rolls here in Lagrange Ga. Wish I could find someone to ship me some coins.
How many banks you go to?
@@GASilverHunter there are only like 6 or 7 here
@@scott.m.thacker ahhh. I have 6-7 within 5 minutes of the house. Go 20 minutes out and there are literally 40 banks/branches.

@@GASilverHunter It is objectively correct, since its name is in Italian in which most c’s are pronounced that way

There is some belief in the comments that we have a large S FS-502 which would make this coin a bit more valuable. I am leaning towards it being that.
