When I was a moth I was so happy after seeing other players in Isle that I added everyone I could lol I thought you only saw players at the end or at least middle of the game and since Isle was "the tutorial level" I thought it would be just me, I knew nothing about the game apart from pretty screenshots at the time.
i think moths just add people because they don't fully understand the game yet. like the game encourages you to interact with people and it's one of the first buttons in the player menu, so they just go along with it
I did it a lot as a moth just because I suddenly wanted friends in the game. I'm not used to interacting with other players in multiplayer games and I guess my reasoning was that I might as well make as many friends as I could because it felt weird interacting with people without friending them I guess? Not sure now that I think about it, it was so long ago

I once found someone dressed almost exactly the way I looked (minus back prop) while candle running and added them after we both stopped at grandma’s for food and I called them my doppelgänger haha. Such a cool surprise since I thought I’d be the only one to use the new years tiger mask, dismiss cape and boogie pants to make a “tiger” like outfit
When i started out the game I did not have many emotes to play around with as I do now, and when interacting with strangers we see the option to offer a candle to become friends and we just click it. 99% of the time new players do not know that candles are actually the games currency and that they should be saving those up for cosmetics and etc XD we are just happy to be there
Well the Nintendo pack at least gives you Link's hair, two capes, the TLOZ instrument (sorry idk how it is called bc I don't play the games) and the capes allow you to access the place inspired by the Mario Bros levels, so even if it is expensive af it is worth it
People are gonna learn to see someone having the same outfit as them and then just move on tbh it doesn’t really matter if you have the same outfit in sky, it’s not that serious lmao And some people are also gonna learn that if someone does that they’re trying to get their reaction for content. And they’re likely going to just go away otherwise because they don’t like that. That’s my prediction for these videos soon lol
not to sound like a boomer but "back in my day" people looking the same was super common with how little cosmetics there were lmaoo so its funny to see that its not a common thing anymore
