He broke the mould in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960), playing working class hero Arthur Seaton. A great British actor.

I've seen Murder on the Orient Express at least half a dozen times and I still can't see Albert Finney inside that Hercule Poirot. If his name wasn't on the credits, I couldn't begin to guess who it was. Amazing.

So sad to hear of his demise but so many happy memories of his appearances. Such a wonderful actor. Such a deep, booming voice. I most especially recall his part in a somewhat obscure film (something to do with copyright as much as anything else I believe) starring himself and Martin Sheen - "Loophole". This was a bank burglary heist in which Finney played a successful "gentleman" criminal - a wonderful, overlooked film I can thoroughly recommend. RIP Albert Finney.

This is a great loss. I’ve loved each of these roles, and have most of these highlighted films, but want to say my absolute favorite is his Uncle Henry in Ridley Scott’s ‘A Good Year,’ from 2006.

I saw him for the first time in 'Julia Roberts movie' Erin Brockovich on 2000 when EB arrives in theaters, of course I went to the cinema because of Julia she was a big movie star at the time, but it turned out the supporting actor who stole the movie from the leading actress (and this has happened when she had a great performance), every time he make an appearance honed by the art of acting skills technique, by far the most natural performance and realistic ones in the film. I said to myself who is that old man he must be a classy icon, then I started watching his movies his collection of classic films such as Tom Jones, Saturday Night, Two for the Road, Scrooge, The Orient Express, Shoot the Moon, The Dresser, Under the Volcano, Miller's Crossing and many.
There have been plenty of great British actors throughout history such as Olivier, Guinness, Burton, O'Toole, Kingsley, Hopkins, Oldman, Day-Lewis etc. If Laurence Olivier/John Gielgud has a reputation as the greatest stage actors, I can say with absolute certainty Albert Finney is the greatest British actor of them all that have ever graced the silver screen proved just how truly inspirational he was, even though unfortunately he doesn't really get recognized for it.

That’s what I think as well
He’s better than Daniel Day Lewis. He was able to put on a new walk, voice, accent etc but without losing 1) his heart. 2) his subtly 3) he makes it look effortless which Daniel day Lewis doesn’t.
