It does, but the Cat Hi Drive is even better as the idlers at both end are free to oscillate where as that still has a rigid sprocket fixed to the main frame.
I've ran several d11s and 475s and honestly, low tracks fucking run circles around the cats. Push more, more comfort on the newer models, far more area on the track pads which equals more traction.

После таких наездников, мужики восстанавливают время теряют на ремонт, ничего не мажется, всё скрепит, пальцы на балке, и рыхле наплавлять потом точить, короче не завидую после него работать!
They break as well. There are diff sections you bolt on at the wear points so you don't actually wear out the main ripper shank. But ya. You can break anything when your pulling it through rocks all day
The 475 certainly can rip and push out alot of material, but a great operator, a great operator would not have excessive track spin when pushing and ripping, which I seen this operator do. A great operator would use the deexcelarator pedal, to bring down the rims to slow the track spin, and use the deexcelarator and the weight of the dozer, which will use the torque of the engine with the weight and not spin the tracks that much. So between the weight and torque converter, it will avoid unessary track spin, and prematurely wear the tracks out sooner.
To be honest, this guy knows the controls, but is not an operator. Just one example: when he is starting the rip he sinks the ripper all the way down. When he hits the crown he leaves the ripper at the same depth. He loses traction and spins the tracks. He then raises the ripper until he starts moving. Then puts it down again. All he is doing is keeping the crown at the same ratio it was at when the video started. Blades and ripper are not not static implements. They require constant input, finesse, and the knowledge of how you want the job to proceed, where it will end up, and to get there in as few steps as possible. This guy knows the controls and and has enough understanding to not beat the shit out of the machine, and not much more than that.
I am wondering why he has so much negative angle on the ripper. Could he put in a positive angle, so that the ripper tends to stay down and then there won't be so much vertical component that pushes the rear of the dozer up? It would help him get more traction and more easily fracture the rock in thin layers. I know nothing about bulldozers but just looking at this makes me wonder...
If i was the owner of that machine, that operator would be fired on the spot, why abuse a multi million dollar machine when you could bring a excavator with a ripper or hammer to bang that rock out in a few hours easily
