Laughing Kookaburra at the San Diego Zoo

This is the Southern Laughing Kookaburra. I shot this footage with my Nikon Coolpix S200.
This bird makes sounds that are often attributed to monkeys or chimpanzees. Even some people watching the demonstration said, "That sounds like a monkey"

I was at the zoo the other day and the kookaburra wouln't laugh for me! Excellent video

That one needs an ice-breaker. The handler was playing another kookaburra to get it started. I recorded the sound to my phone and play it when I visit the zoo. Works every time.
