I have been playing Hayday for 12 yrs and I am on level 212 😜
If you put the cats food and water up on the top shelf because they do like to be high and leave the litter box on the ground. It will work out a lot better.
I'm on level 43 almost to level 44

Per internet:
To test if a donkey can breed, the most reliable method is to consult a veterinarian to perform a reproductive exam, which can include checking for signs of estrus (heat) in a female donkey (jennet) and evaluating the semen quality of a male donkey (jack) to assess their fertility; this is the only definitive way to confirm breeding potential. ✌️😊🙏🫂

I've had kitties my whole life (now 66) & they have always instinctively used the box, but the box can't be close to the kitties food.
❤️
I agree with everyone... Move the food and water
You don't s**t where you eat.
❤️
remove the bell from the kittys collar. So it can sneak up onto the mice.
Brandon, if you want the cat to get mice, take the bell off his colour because that’ll deter the mice
@@JenniTuckett
Yes, a bell on a cat is for scaring birds away!
Hi there 😅 can I suggest you move the cat litter tray up into the corner away from her food or move her water & food up onto one of the shelves. I know my cats don't like to dump near where they eat 😂
Thank you so much for the tip!
I’ve always had cats till now. You have to move her food away from her litter box . She won’t use the litter box if it’s next to her food.❤ pretty kitty! You’ll love her just like you do the rest of the animals. Cats are very loving.❤ love her name too!❤❤ love y’all. God bless.
I would put the kitty food up on the shelf .
Thank you so much! We are excited to have her also!
Hi Brandon! I have two pieces of information for you regarding Shadow. 1. Move her food up on the shelf so it’s away from her litter box. 2. She probably has used the box. Cats bury their pee and poo so you probably can’t see it. That is their instinct You are going to grow to love her!
This is very true. Good advice! We had the most gentle and sweet tuxedo cat that my sister brought home. When she left, mother and Sugar really bonded.
She needs blankets, I say that bc it's been so cold. You bring your dogs in, keep the cat a little bit warm
Shadow is adorable. She is very friendly as you can tell. I agree completely with another comment. Move the food and water away from the litter box. Cats are very clean animals and don't like the potty and food next to each other. I suggest placing it against another wall. I used to breed and raise show cats and learned a tremendous amount. Give her lots of love and she will be a great pet. ❤❤❤ ❤
Thanks for the tips! We appreciate it!
A couple pointers from a certified crazy cat lady... cats do not like their food and water neR litter box, and they prefer that water is a little apart from food. Put the food and water up on the shelf she seems to like. Do you have a pillow or bed for her? And if she isn't already spayed, don't wait unless you want a bunch of Tom cats lurking around and kittens! With her being outdoors, you'll also want to get her at least vaccinated for rabies. She is a beautiful cat! I bet you end up with her following you around, she's going to be your cat!
Thanks so much for the kind words of advice!
One crazy cat lady in Iowa here agrees with the certified crazy cat lady. Getting any car fixed will make them more lovable.
Yep I reckon I'm an old cat lady too,I've got 2 boy's and they got fixed last year when they got old enough Lol but yes I agree 👍 with you 😅❤❤
Crazy cat lady here too. I have 3 indoor cats & 8 outdoor cats that I feed. And agree with everything said here. 😺😺🐈🐈🐈🐈
Move the cat food and water to the shelf. You never put food near the literbox. Shadow might start using the liter box if you put her poop in the liter box. Just a thought. Usually, mom's train their kittens to use the liter box.
Plus, if the cat food is on the floor, mice will eat it also....
Shadow is beautiful!
If the mice want it bad enough, they will find it no matter where you put it.😉
Thank you so much!
Feed the pigs leftovers, if you ever have leftovers. Pig slop includes everything but the kitchen sink.
The cat liter will get in her food with it being that close! Maybe move her water and food away from her box! ❤ god bless!
Thank you!
You need to put the food and water up high and away from the litter box. No animal eats and eliminates in the same place. It might also help to have a litter box with a lid. Unlike dogs, cats prefer privacy when the take care of business. You haven't had her long enough to give up.
Except goats. 🤭
Thank you!
Your door could use a diagonal brace but still looking good. Shadow needs a friend
LITTERBOX SHOULD NOT BE NEAR FOOD & WATER
Hi Steph and Brandon, I hope Kayson is feeling better, the poor guy didn’t look too good yesterday. The chicken coop looks really good Brandon, that should do the job for sure. The animals all look healthy and happy. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thanks so much! Yes, Kayson is feeling much better, thank you for asking!
It is a proven fact that cats won't use the litter box if it is close to their food. They can't change where they eat food but can change where they pee.
Thank you for that!
So true. Also, keep the cat somewhat hungry so it will feed on the mice.
My litter box is across the room from the food, the old saying, don't eat where you sh-t applies.
@@PattiReeves-g3t The litter box for my cats is in my laundry room and they get fed in one of the bedrooms which is 3 rooms from the litter boxu.
Cats think they are of nobel descent. So they don’t eat next to the toilet 😊
Maybe if you put the food and litter box further apart she start using it.
If you find any feces you can put it in the litter box. She don’t know what to do with it.
She is a very lovely cat ❤
Exactly and a little more litter.
Yes put more liter in the box ,but try to buy the kind of box with a lid and you can get a cat mat from Temu for cheap Lol
Thanks so much for the help!
Food and water on the shelf or much further away from her litter box. You don’t eat your food in the bathroom, she won’t want to either. Also, a cat bed or a blanket on her shelf would be nice. She needs a place to snuggle and get warm this time of year.
Thank you so much for the advice!
@ I love what you are trying to accomplish with your farm. It’s hard work but worth it.
I like your hair high and tight. It’s ok for me to say that I’m 79yrs old. That’s why I love your farm. I’ve always had one ,but can’t anymore.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the farm!
If you can put all the feed in cans, with lids, it will help with your mice problem.
Hey Brandon first thing I saw was the food was too close to the litter box. You two already love each other, it’s in your eyes! ❤
❤️❤️
Brandon, think back to the old days when people had a long spring attached to their screen door and to the door jam. Wouldn't that work for the door on the new chicken house?
He can buy hinges like he has that are self closing. I’ve installed many on screen patios. No very high either. Good idea
Hey Eddy Fam, Brandon. Just a couple ideas about getting the cat to poop in the litter box, First put her in it at times and take her paw and dig in the litter a little bit them let her go. Might take a few times. Also if she has a poop accident in the feed shed um pick it up and put it in the litter box. These things have helped me in the passed. Hope they help. Love all thats for the videos!!
I agree with you and it works so well about them kittens ❤ from California
you can also feed the pigs table scraps that what we did
Good that you and Shadow have become friends. Hopefully she'll figure out the litter box thing. The chicken pens are looking good to me. Pray that Kayson is doing better. GOD bless y'all.
Kevin, I’m not sure if you are aware, but 1 mouse can have up to 60 babies in a year. They multiply fast! If you have rats they can have up to 1500 babies in a year. This is definitely something you want to take care of early on. Keep lids on all of your feed. If the mice/rats get in the feed not only is it a food source for them to breed more, but it can make your animals sick/kill from disease.
I know this is repetitive, but you need to move the litterbox across the room from food and water or she will not use litter box
Thanks for the tip! We appreciate it.
To be honest if you got some milk crates and put some straw in them the hens would be happy. Make the roost bars away from the nesting boxes and higher so they don't roost in them.
One thing for sure, you will never stop building for your animals, you try to protect them all by providing the best for them which helps keep the predators away !!! God Bless......😊😊
Very true! Thanks so much!
No bell on the collar if you want a hunter
You need to move the food!!! Cats 🐈 do not like their food next to the litter box!!!
Thank you!
You can't put the litter box next to the food & water or the cat won't use the litter box
Shadow is cute she is loving on you she knows who she has to win over. Please can you move the food and water away from the litter box cats are instinctively clean animals and may be put off their food if it's too close to where they eliminate ideally it should be 5-10 feet away. blessings to you all
Thanks so much for the tip!
It so amazing how far you have come on the farm. I followed you from the beginning and you must just be so proud of all you have learned and accomplished so far. Many years ago we had a hobby farm and the work was never done. But, the eggs and the chickens, pigs and beef we raised was so worth it. Raising children in the country is so good.
Thanks so much! We really appreciate you following along!
Congratulations on finishing the chicken coop, it looks fantastic! Please film the rest of the build as well, I love seeing the progress on projects like these. Whether you use time-lapse or film from a distance, it doesn't matter, as long as we get to see the building and progress. 😊👍
And you don't bore us with driving the tractor and filling in soil. All progress is fun to watch! So please, show us much more of it!
Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for the encouraging words!
I wish they had given you two kitties 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛so that Shadow would have a kitty friend.
I’m so glad to see that your Shadow is growing on you! 🐈⬛
2:22 Scoop up some of poop so that she will know where to poop. 💩 Kitties usually don’t need to be litter box trained, but does happen sometimes. They tend to intuitively know how to use their litter box and where to poop.
You can do it.
Just a thought ? why did'nt you roll the wire " up " the door instead of across , before attaching it ? so you did'nt have a join in the middle and a weak spot , just a thought .
Brandon, your carpet skills are fine with me. They look good. Don’t worry about the little things like gaps you cover them up. You did a good job.
Brandon, if shadow isn’t using the litter box, try moving it further from the food and water container. Also, once I had a situation with kittens potting in a corner of the room. I cleaned up the mess and moved the litter box in that area, and they began using it.
Thanks for sharing your farm life, keep making the videos.
God Bless you and your family!
Pete from western N. C.
Thank you for the advice!
I enjoy hearing you talk you and your wife and watching how much you do with your kids that's really cool
We try our best to keep things fun and engaging for the whole family!
Cat you have to take there paws and scatch the litter and the box have to be clean or they won't use it if it's full
Dottie and Lola would be good names for the piglets.
Check to see if Romeo has been castrated first.
Vets can do lab test to see if Romeo is sterile if he hasn't been castrated.
I'm excited about the permanent fence coming.
I like Bacon and Pork Chop.
The cat is going to be so beneficial for keeping the feed room clear of mice. Just the smell of her urine will deter them, though it is nice that she figured out her litter box. Good luck with the pigs and your little mouser. 💖💖💖
Thank you so much! Yes we think so!
If she's not using the litter box if you find cat poop somewhere in there just pick it up put it in her little box and put her in there and tell her there's where you go potty
Thank you!
I love kitties! We have a Shadow. He’s Black. We got him from Humane Society. They gave him the name Archie. It did not fit him so I changed it. He was 4 months old when we got him. He knows his names!
That’s awesome!
Brandon, you should put a stopper on the door so it doesn't go inward. It will save your hinges.
What she is doing is purring
You need to move the kitty's food away from the litter box
I don’t know what kind of Pigs they are. I can’t remember what Kevin‘s sow is.
But I feed just scoop of cracked corn along with two scoops of pig grower that I get from tractor supply and I mix that together and it goes into a free feed. I also give them scraps from the kitchen until they get up to about 200 pounds . After that, I usually put my pig that’s going to the processor on pig, finisher and corn. I keep my breeders on the pig grower and corn mixture and I have always had good luck with that. But I’m sure there are lots of other people that can give you some hints on how to feed.
They are Berkshire pigs. Thanks for the tips!
You could take one of your portable jackery generators back to the building area to charge and plug in your tools.
I really enjoy the longer videos Brandon thank you for showing them and I really enjoy watching you do all your projects
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you saying that!
@ you’re welcome
To make doors more sturdy it's good to put a piece of wood from corner to corner to form triangles. Small diagonal planks in the corner will à good job to keep things sturdy too. Always think triangles.
When we raised little feeder pigs like that, we had what they call a creep feeder. We kept pig food in it all the time.
If Shadow poos on the floor, then put it in the litter box. Then the smell will be there. Also if she leaves a puddle on the floor, wipe it up with paper towels and put it in the litter box. Once she goes once in there then you can scoop it up. Make sure you put enough litter in there.
Little advice, for litter, use the wood pellets from Tractor supply. It's horse bedding. It's for cats and chickens to. 40 lb bag for seven dollars will last a couple of months. You put enough in, you don't have to change it for 2 weeks. It's natural and won't harm animals.
The other litter's have chemicals in them. Of course scoop the poo every couple of days.
Thank you for the advice!
Your new chicken run is looking Great-
They’re going to totally enjoy their new home!!!
Looking Forward To Seeing It Done And Watching The Chickens Thank You Profusely lol,
😇
🙏🏻
We appreciate it! We think they will love it too!
I love seeing the turkeys especially when their feathers are open. They look like they are floating. ❤😊❤😊❤😊
Yes, they are so beautiful!
Love the kitten. Cats are so dedicated to a owner and they are very loving. I also love it when they purr. Just move the food bowl away from the litter box. Cats don't like a litter box next to their food. Hoping Shadow brings you a lot if joy, and for sure some loving. She already brushes up against your arm, seeking a bit of attention. Too cute for words. ❤❤
Thank you for the advice!
There was a time, way back in the 90's, we had 14 cats and kitties, outside, we didn't have any mice!😊
Yep. With as many mice as they have they will definitely need more than 1 cat. A lot of property and feed containers to prowl.
A large chest freezer to store feed bags in would help. And keep lids on cans!
On the truck issue i think possibly there is an oil cooler in rad or beside rad to cool ATF fluid and one should see extra smaller pipes heading to front of vehicle. Could also be power steering fluid leaking .
Lord knows you love the Growns family. I just pray you didn't leave Kayson home sick with Leighton to take care of him. The Flu is no joke. I hope he's feeling better. Good job Leighton taking care of your baby brother. God Bless
The boy is better, Leighto is a very responsible young man who can and will take good care of his brother These parents would NEVER put their children in jeopardy.
We didn’t leave him home sick with his brother. He became sick after we returned home from our visit, and we have been taking care of him away from his siblings in order to try to keep everyone else healthy. Thanks for the concern for our family!
@ ❤️ so happy he’s feeling better. God bless
You did a very good job on the chicken pen🐔🐔🐥🐣
Thank you!
It's called purring. It's when the cat is actually happy
Brandon, I can promise you there’s mice’s nest in those boxes up in those lofts, so you need to get them down and put the stuff in plastic totes! Mice love closed cardboard boxes to have babies!
Shadow needs a bit more litter in that box. She needs to be able to dig.
Cats don’t need a collar as they can get caught up on fences and branches.
Love watching videos like this. I really enjoy watching how people do their projects.
Love you all. ❤🔥
❤❤ brandon, I just wanna let you know that you need to get her fixed. So you won't have a bunch of kitties running around and not, you'll have a little bit more of a problem. Cats are wonderful when you get them fixed, so you don't have to worry about them. Having more babies, so you might want to keep that in mind❤❤
We will decide if we want to do it now or wait, but will weigh our options.
Wilma might be hungry because most animals eat more in the cold weather.
I have three cats and they would not use their litter box if the food is close so it you move the water and food away from the litter box she work use it. Love you guys❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice seeing you on the homestead with the animals. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day.❤💙🎉😊🦋
Thank you so much for watching!
The pigs can be Thelma and Louise and name the boy pork chop.
We name all of our male meat hogs "Pork Chop"...lol
You need more litter in her box.....About two inches. Move the food out of the immediate area. If you don't have a cat(s), you aren't a farm.
❤️
Good video Brandon. Glad you got the first one done. ❤❤❤❤
They almost sent two kittens home with Eddie hahaha I love it I'm not a cat person either but they are so cute and adorable. Eddie the Kitty will grow on you and your amazing family ❤️ from California
We're definitely enjoying having her around! 😊
I love watching your farm grow. You kids have put so much hard work and love into your dream ❤❤❤❤
About feeding the pigs, see if some of your local schools or restaurants have food they are throwing away and see if they will save it for you. My grandpa provided them with 5-7 gal buckets and picked them up daily
Interesting!
Don't leave any of your food barrels open or she might use them as a litter box. But yes, move the food and water away from the litter box.
Here I am. 68 years old and always had a cat and didn’t know the litter box and food and water need to be apart 🤷♀️, I never put them close together though,
It looks very nice, the chickens will be very happy with their new house.
If I had chickens, and you built chicken houses
I would totally hire you to build mine! Great job!!!
❤🙏🫶 Chickasaw strong!!
I love playing Hay Day! 🐏🦚🐄🐷🐂🐮
Thanks so much! We really appreciate it!
I watched the entire video. I seen alot of people say move the food she won't go by the food or water. That can be true but as a Animal Rescuer for yrs and im 60 I've seen that only couple times. The reason I think was stress. After looking at the box you should have 3 inches of litter in that box at the very least. I'd still move food and water if you can off the floor from unwanted predators getting or other animals getting in. Mice will eventually stay out just knowing the cats in there. Lastly to make sure the cat keeps using the litter box its important to clean the box daily. I clean my boxes in the morning and evening. To gain trust when talking to the cat look it in the eyes and while talking slowly blink your eyes if the cat does it back thats trust building. Also if you find your cat likes to be a bitey cat when your petting it im saying like play biting you say owie owie owie 3 times or ouch 3 times its guaranteed to stop asap. Any questions im always here. Congrats and Thank you for rescuing the cat.
Thank you so much for the helpful information!
Take table scraps ask store if the got old produce can mix feed with water and make slop
I also wouldn’t leave that food on the floor either. They get into that all your animal food is then contaminated and you have to throw it out. I know I would throw it out, or put it into metal trash cans to protect and keep lids on!
Hay Brandon when you find the cat pops 💩 put it inside of the cat litter box that will help and if you bring a roll of toilet paper to the shed and when she pees on the floor use the toilet paper whip it up and lay the toilet paper in a container of the litter box she will smell it and everytime you go in the shed pick her up and set her in the litter box it may take some time but she will get to know where she needs to to her business in she might have been potty trained but if you all work on it she will learn
❤️
Great job on that chicken pen. You got your hands full with that pony & the goats but you’ll do it. Piglets are cool. Blessings ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! We appreciate the support!
You need to move the cat food and water away from the litter box. Maybe move the litter box in the corner where the mice chewed through the foam and the food on one of the shelves of the shelving unit. Just some suggestions.😊❤
Brandon , this might sound a little mean but I’m not trying to : would you your meals in the bathroom next to the toilet. That the same way cat look at it to they don’t like to eat where their toilet is either. I know you are new at this but cats kinda think like people when it comes to something’s. Just trying to help
Sorry I wasn't home early today but I had to take my beautiful daughter to the hospital for a breathing very bad problem thank God she's only had a very bad cold 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶. She's back home now.
So sorry to hear that, but glad it wasn’t very serious!
Wanted to let you know she stayed home again today don't know what is going on with her but she has been feeling like she's going to pass out and I don't know what to do. I took her to the hospital and they say she's fine but she's not feeling fine. So what do I do other than pray my daughter gets well soon she's still not breathing right. They sent us home.
Are you going to install drywall on the inside of the barn ?
Set up some trail cameras in order to find out which predators are taking your ducks, so then, you'll know what types of predator traps you will be needing to set up. Also, Carolyn Nance is correct about moving the cat's food further away from the litter box, in order to ensure that she continues using her litter box because, the smell will eventually start causing her to start going to the bathroom further away from her food.
My nesting boxes are more of a shelf with 3 sections and no top...my hens only get in them to lay their eggs...they sleep on a 6" rooster platform...the 6" is great to prevent foot issues
Thanks for that insight!
Shadow is so cute and friendly. ❤️❤️❤️
Good job on the chicken pen. Love Shadow. I have a kitty Molly. I have had many cats over the years. They instinctively use the litter box. Great video. God bless you and your family.
Thanks so much, we really appreciate it!
Would you eat in the bathroom next to an unflushed toilet! I don't think shadow wants to either.
Brandon you can get self closing hinges that are made like the ones you installed on the chicken coop. No very expensive either.
Put the cats food and water away from the litter box or the kitty may not use the litter box. Don't put it close by it either. Put it at the other side away from it.
Thank you so much!
You need to move food and water away from litter box. Even across the room. If you have someone close by with an inside cat, get a small amount of THEIR CAT'S USED litter and put on top of her litter in a small place. Tells her that is where to potty
Thanks!
You need to move the food & water away from the litter box. Typically they won’t go to the bathroom where they eat. It’s more sanitary and healthier for the cat. I’m reading a few of the comments now. Sorry for repeating what others have said. It is very important though
Thank you so much for the advice!
I bet it felt awesome to finally have that pen finished up.
Great job!
