    I'm with you, Pat . I still like the old Gen 1 small block. Everything doesn't need to be LS swapped .

    Warms my heart seeing a Gen 1 sbc ripping like they should. Nice work!

    My buddy's blown 509 peaked at 800 hp on 8 psi boost, intercooler and required 102 octane. My reasoning at the time was reduce the boost (larger driven pulley) to the point that 91 octane would be adequate, but it was a 50,000 dollar teague marine engine... the price of fuel was kind of incidental on a 120,000 dollar boat. Also, the drive unit was prone to breakage on the input shaft, or whatever the vertical shaft is called... but there can be lots of reasons to not pursue hp at all costs. given more parts, more complexity, more risks, I like not boosting so high that we need intercoolers or ethanol injection, or octane boosters. Keep it relatively simple, and maybe you don't win every race, but there's always tomorrow, if ur not broken. BTW, I friggin love ur channel, ur explanations, and ur approach to tech stuff.

    Awesome job! I’m hopefully closing in on a 383 build at a local machine shop. I would love to try a turbo so I keep watching for updates. All the best!

    Wow that is so impressive 784 hp I never thought that was possible with a 383 single turbo very nice combo you came up with.

      I'm reaching the limits of push gas but with E85 or race fuel it would have certainly made even more

    Nice increase.
    A lot of people dont seem to realize how much power and torque is left of the table by going too small on the hot side. Turbo engine's gotta breathe!
    Obviously the cam swap made the gains, up top, even greater.

    • @cuttersperformance
      @cuttersperformance  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I could certainly benefit from a larger down pipe but it doesn't package well in the car

    Another cool video! And just a question about the flex/expansion in the turbo cross over. I'm looking at doing a similar deal and wanted to know how long it's been there and if any issues? Thank you 👍

    • @cuttersperformance
      @cuttersperformance  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      It currently has about 60 dyno pulls on it but I do worry about no having enough expansion in that cross over flex

      @briankilpatrick6039 18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@cuttersperformance thank you for replying. Hopefully it does the job because I made the choice to go with the same style after looking at these and the bellow style. Nissan has these from the factory on a couple of their V6 single turbo engines with crossover however they are cast manifolds and a lot shorter. Keep up the good work your videos are always informative and interesting. We as the audience appreciate it

    LoL 😂
    I literally read some guy on FB claiming that the dyno runs you make are fake and are only a simulation.
    I asked him if he had any evidence of that and he immediately went ad hominem and started attacking me, asking if I even know what a real Dyno graph looks like. 😂
    That's how you know they're lying.

    • @cuttersperformance
      @cuttersperformance  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      Definitely not simulations 😅 lol I dyno test each one. And not just 1 or 2 dyno pulls most are between 20 and 40 dyno pulls haha

    • @Carl_Jr
      @Carl_Jr 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      @cuttersperformance
      Right 👍
      It just cracks me up how people will say stuff like that with zero evidence. He said it's basically because of your graphs. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you use those colors because they're easier for you to see?

    • @cuttersperformance
      @cuttersperformance  14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      @Carl_Jr yes exactly I find it easier to compare engines on video when you can see it on a graph. It's hard to see and compare numbers on a dyno sheet but I do show them in some of the videos along with the graphs. It's all legit, but no matter what you do, some guys like to argue 😅

      @@cuttersperformance I would be interested in your build. I have a 409 sbc with a torqstorm. 10.5-1 compression. I'm running the timing locked out at 28 degrees on E85 and a blow thru carb. I used a carb as I'm not using an intercooler either to keep the intake temps down. I do have a Holly Sniper on my other car and like it.

    What kind of iats did you have on the dyno? I’m really curious what your iats will be driving around. I’m non intercooled but with a procharger and mine get hot in the summer heat driving around

      @ well that’s very good to hear! Yes I also use water meth. At the track I’m not worried because of the water meth and I use e85 fuel but I still always wonder how other engines do iat wise down track and driving.

    • @cuttersperformance
      @cuttersperformance  15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      The turbo didn't fail but it didn't work as well on the larger engine. It had instant boost response but the top end it wasn't happy. It made 700 on a 355 but we also didn't rev that engine out

  • @jefferyholcombe5189
    @jefferyholcombe5189 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Just don't believe the hype about LS, SBC still has 5 head bolts around the cyl rather than the LS 4 bolts. Boost stays in better w/more head bolts. Just built a 350 like yours with a SCAT balanced rotating assembly w/Fluid balancer, billet main caps, SCAT rods, forged pistons 9.6 to 1, Aluminum 195 heads, ARP everything, Dual plain intake w/4-barrel TBI unit for fuel. It runs an Embedded locker ECU piggyback for tuning, 2 BAR MAP, IAT sensor off TPI Camaro, done threw USB to serial port on stock ECU. Timing is done w/MSD boost timing retard box w/knob inside for on-the-fly timing adjustment, GT-45 Turbo w/ air to air intercooler, A/C, Power windows, reg cab 8" box, on air bags w/Parallel 4-link all in GMC 94' C-2500 5-speed!
