OH. MY. GOD. People have been trying to teach me this in soooo many ways, and not until just now watching your video do I finally understand. I cannot wait to get into the pool tomorrow to feel this! Thank you so so much!
OMG indeed!!! I've heard things like: high elbow, you are over rotating, etc. I did not know how to fix my recovery... No-one has managed to explain that to me better than Celeste! Thank you very much!!! Next step would be incorporating breathing 😅
Holyshit this is by far the best video I’ve seen on the timing and recovery of a freestyle stroke I’ve seen. Especially for a beginner like my self. Thank you so much coach
Brilliant. Forget all the rest! Just watch and listen to this lady's very insightful demonstration of freestyle recovery - which is more technically important than mastering the catch.
To me this is the best demonstration for recover arm in freestyle swimming. Particularly the arm movement on the floor, it trained the brain when I was in the water.
What an incredible explanation. I'm not going to train today because I have a tennis class, but tomorrow I'm going to do a light workout in the pool and I'm going to add this movement. Thank you very much, coach Celeste. Alexandre from Brasil.
Thank you. For a longtime and after seeing so many you tube video's I could for first time see the explanation put into training action both outside and inside the pool. I am in the recovery phase of my right shoulder Rotator Cuff inflammation after I experienced excruciating right shoulder Rotator pain, about 15 days from today, while practicing swimming. And I will follow your instructions in pool practice as soon as my shoulder pain has recided.👍👌
Awesome demonstration! I can practice this, once I'm able, in the house. Lying in a hospital bed. Back surgery today. Out of the water for 6 weeks but SO looking forward to trying out these drills. Thank you so much!
Hi there, this helped me a lot. This is the best explanation about the recovery I found on YT. It took some time for me to correct my technique. But it was successful. Thank you so much
"Putting on the Deodorant" is such a great analogy. This and another video "Lateral Shoulder movement" are a must watch to understand the right recovery movements. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Coach, how about a demo on rotating both shoulders in synchronicity for the arm stroke recovery -- that should be a less complicated explanation to follow.
For anyone still wondering if this advice is legit, let me say that the number of folks over here testifying to it speaks for itself. Like many, I've been pouring through videos after videos to understand what those content creators were saying but never fully grasping what they were saying. A simple line with action to "put on deodorant" tells all there is to tell. Thank you.
But if you develop the movement pattern in the pool it is easier to transfer it to open water when it is choppy. The principle is the same, the arm normally bends less
My problem is my arm its stiff do you have a drill for stiff arm recovery? Its consumed my energy i cant swim 300 meters without wet suit because of my stiff arm.. any advice maam?
ok now it make sense for me, but this is not for beginners, first you need to do rotation to move your hand easy like this, beginners can't rotate shoulders they swim flat
This is without question the best demonstration of the correct way to recover the arm. I tried it and it works (and pain free!). Thanks Coach Celeste
Excellent to hear. Thank you.

Have fun practicing, be patient and do the dry land work.
Definitely one of the most important swim videos I have seen. My wife has helped with this and it has been hard for me to make the change. Thank you
Excellent video. Just practising this a few times out of the pool seemed so much easier compared to what I was doing before. Thanks.
Great to hear. Thank you.

Most videos fail to instruct the cause and only explain the effect, this is the first video which describes the cause and the effect. Thank you 🙏
Hands down the best instruction on TH-cam 👍👍👍

Hi I have problem with sinking legs and I can't take the breath because my head is too much under the water
Have you practiced my Breathing Series videos? That's a good place to start.
Thank you this is really helpful 😎
My concern is what parts of the body are causing drag.
The Best!!!
Excelente explicação!👏👏👏
Hi this helped a lot. But my deltoids are burning up when I try to swim longer distances. Any idea why?

Yes , but not possible for the triathlon , for choppy and wave ... thank
But if you develop the movement pattern in the pool it is easier to transfer it to open water when it is choppy. The principle is the same, the arm normally bends less

Could you please tell me after weight shift, do we kick downard.
the downward kick helps the weight shift, and helps to drive the length of the stroke. The downward kick is not after the weight shift.
@@TriathlonSkills-SimpleSwims Then do you mean to say that downward kick inititiates rotation.
@@contenttravellors yes, that’s correct
@@TriathlonSkills-SimpleSwims Thanks
Good 😊❤
