i bought one in March and it is fantastic. Immediately before it i had an STX Navara with the 4 cylinder engine, before that i had the V6 STX 550 Navara and before that an SR5 Hilux. I have also had a Ford ranger Wildtrak . All of these cars i have bought from brand new. The X350 D is by a huge gap better than all of them. It is the first Ute that i actually love driving. The acceleration , especially in sports mode is amazing and it the most comfortable ute ride i have ever had.
@@_TenaciousD_ I bought one of these X350d with all the features for 72K on road ...it replaced STX 550( 280 kms)th i loved it that had been remapped, 3" exhaust and snorkel fitted. The merc goes better stock sraight off the lot. Also got 5 year warranty and 3 year servicing included. I wasn't going to trade down from a V6 to a one of the many 4 cylinder options, and I wanted low range. so there was only one option and when the price came down i jumped . so happy i did It is a pleasure to drive. Scotty from marketing gave me all the GST straight back an instant asset write off..too good to pass up
Every 4x4 I have ever owned and driven, switching from 'High Range' to 'Low Range' meant the gearing was changed, not the power distribution from axel to axel.
It isn't a rebadged Nissan. The Ladder frame and wheel base are wider than the Nissan. The ladder frame has 2 extra cross beams. The 350d has the same 4 wheel drive system as the Mercedes Benz G Wagon, to name just a 0:00 few. That 350D engine will make a Nissan ute disappear in the rear vision mirror and the coil spring rear suspension gives you a far better and more comfortable ride. I have done some very serious 4 wheel driving in Nissan Navaras at Nissan organised professional 4WD courses, and my 350D blows them away. I also had a Land Rover Dealership and I did the Land Rover experience and have done factory test driving in Australia and New Zealand. I have been lucky enough to have been taught by some very professional drivers over my career, including Jim Richards, Peter Brock, Greg Murphy and Deni Hulme.
Haven’t found one for less than 75k. Would consider for mid 60k but anything over that and the inclusions fall short of competition. Adaptive cruise control is a minimum these days, along with emergency breaking.
They messed up! They team up with the wrong partners! Nissan is performing terribly even here in Africa! Mitsubishi would have been a better choice for parts and pilot studies....
A lesson in we should have had the right product from the start (the V6) and clearly when they skipped the customer clinics they missed the buyers falling over when quotes came in over 90k. Had they stuck to the V6 and priced it right, might have been different story. I am guessing the resale will be a wrist slitting exercise....
@@brendanjarvis2306 that's fair. They're a nice looking unit. It will be interesting to see what the resale market for these will look like in 5 to 10 years. They'll either drop sharply in value or be desirable by virtue of being rare. Personally I'd still go with the more popular models. I see a vehicle as a tool/toy that I use for work and leisure. So to me I don't see having a rarer vehicle as a positive, but rather a negative, especially in remote areas. Less aftermarket support, less people with experience working on the platform, parts cost more and aren't as readily available. Seems like a big compromise for very little benefit.
why would you buy a discontinued model ? parts availability would be my issue. also paying Mercedes servicing costs yuck so much disappointment there its far better to buy one of the other Utes
I love the V6 ones. But for the asking price, why the hell doesn't it get the Navara sunroof? I've wanted a pick up for years with a sunroof. But with no factory options other than Nav and Adelaide losing the only sunroof fitter/dealer, American 130k+ trucks are only ones that come with glass roofs :(
I mean this thing has always SCREAMED USA!!!! The pickup is the #1 selling vehicles in America so trust me when I say, we would've eaten this thing up!!!!
You would be absolutely bonkers to buy this car unless it was half price. When they stop making it, the clock starts ticking on availability on parts. This DEFINTIELY feels like "Car advice" has been paid for this.
Let me know who is selling the V6 with a figure in the 60k mark. I have rung around and everyone is in the mids 70,s and early 80,s?. Im beginning to disbelieve this video now 🙄
I think if Mercedes X-Class had the V6 at launch, it would still be around.
It should have been 20-30% cheaper from the beginning
20-30% more for the friggin badge.
Yes and this engine too and it would of been a success, although no touch screen isn’t great

Everyone I know that owns one loves it...Just proves the ones that slag it have never driven or been in one or can’t afford one 😉
ive owned an x350d for the past 6 months. i dont regret choosing it over a hilux, ranger or dmax. it goes hard !!
How does the power and torque compare to the STX 550?

@@malcruickshank1501 Thanks for the reply, great info. Might have to get me one now!
beautiful pickup, but it could never compete at $90k
Great review - short, sharp, covered all relevant points, (very) well presented.
X-Class is the answer to a question nobody was asking.
Every 4x4 I have ever owned and driven, switching from 'High Range' to 'Low Range' meant the gearing was changed, not the power distribution from axel to axel.
Not the amarok
One big advertisement
Clearly, many weren't foolish enough to buy a Nissan Navara with Mercedes Benz badges 🤣
You have to be foolish to buy a Navara, regardless of the badge it carries.
Even the Mercedes Snobs werent convinced to buy a rebadged nissan
I love Mercedes but this is just wrong 😂
Its not in the US. I would still buy it personally. Because I have always wanted a Benz pick up truck
It isn't a rebadged Nissan.

I hope there's an AMG X63 ute
The only problem i see is that some people paid 90 k for it less than 2 years ago

Yeah no one has it for less than 75. How’d you go?
They are not here in the US. I'm hoping they bring their inventory to the US
Ninety grand, one cupholder. Riiiigggghhhhtttt...
Is this car advice or car advertising? It looks suspiciously like Merc has forked out as they’re struggling to get their ugly duckling off the lot.
So true
Hey, wait! You know that car that doesn’t sell? Look at how awesome it is!!!
Jurnos are like cheep hookers, just cheaper
They messed up! They team up with the wrong partners! Nissan is performing terribly even here in Africa! Mitsubishi would have been a better choice for parts and pilot studies....
It’s not ugly at all! Best looking Ute in my opinion
Super entertaining video with an incredible visual quality. Both the camper you're using and the filming are top notch.

High 40k would make a lot more sense for the v6 progressive not 70k+
they should've put a v8 and sold it in the American market
Why would you put “Sport” Tyres on a off road suv….? Off road tyres is the way to go
Nice Nissan
20 to 30% off? Are you having a laugh? Don't leave the lot without 40% discount. Better still, just buy the Isuzu.
The main question is whether you would buy it over a Hilux, Ranger or Amarok... I wouldn't.
thats why its gone @
Still don't know what were they thinking. This is a product nobody asked for.
Agree, it's a lemon👎
So glad I did....I like it even more now it is discontinued and not everyone has got one unlike the other Utes you mention...

Bring it back merc ar lower cost off road and utility tuff with a ease of power to pull heavy caravans and boats. Make it all Mercedes yes 👍🏻
Herman Munster is at it again, when are you going to review the Munster Koach Herman?
Love mine ... X350d Edition 1 at $75k
Recommend it?
Too bad this thing isn't available this side of the Pacific
Such a shame, it's only starting to get admired now that it's been discontinued :(
Exactly the Infamous X Class...Now a collectors Edition...

Well remember it's a Nissan Navvaro. Its not in the US
Kool Navara dude 🤭
Great review. Good use of tone, gestures and pace, allowing me to absorb information in this video.
Funny how like the Supra, people seem to loathe German/Japanese collaboration. Don’t mention the War.
From what I hear, the next Navara will use this modified Benz platform so its not completely dead.
Yep, here in Argentina Nissan announced that they will use it for the navara facelift. The Renault Alaskan however will still use the actual platform.

Did they really stop making these?
Yes. They are not in US. They are in the UK. They didn't do good over there Because they said they don't really need trucks like that
I like it its very good
I will buy it
They have similarity on Nissan navarra 2020 model
Nice Nissan??

Has he injured himself riding a horse? The wide stance is off putting.
It's not a bad ute but the price is is so high your buying the brand not the truck
Personally the interior of this car is not that convincing
So beautiful

After all it’s just a Nissan as everyone keeps claiming so parts should be a plenty 🤔
Put this engine in the Nav & Terra
Sounds like an old Bus.
Great video and love the production. Well done! Shame the interior is a set back... old steering wheel... would love one but with MBUX =D
Is a Nissan ya

Too bad the name mercedes can't even give this truck a spot to its competitors just like his brother Navara ✌️😂
Isuzu dmax strong
So no longer a Nissan with a Renault engine? But a Nissan with a Merc engine? 🤔
Sooo nice Nissan👍
Nope.
An attractive price at 80K ??? Really??
Wow is nice car
Nice nissan navara
car advert
Make Gen 2 Merc beat them all.
Tradies driving Mercedes, now that’s a joke 😂 That car would not “fit in“ if Mercedes was giving it for free....
Ranger Raptor
the only reason this truck flopped is because it never made it to the US
98
good get rid of it
Inside in very cheap quality
No cruise control no thanks!
🚔
Nissan and Benz = 💩 at 90k even at 68k wait till service and any parts $$$$$$ overpriced and undervalued
what a shame
You Call Mercedes Benz X Class Ugly, You cal alsol me Ugly cheap and nasty as well
Rebadged and overpriced
