- $100 million is missing from a local non-profit, the Center for Special Needs Trust Administration. Money that was placed in a trust that was supposed to care for the most vulnerable.

It’ll be interesting to hear what his attorney says. I don’t get how he could have loaned himself their trust money without their approval. That money was in trusts, so it wasn’t available to be loaned. He stole it.
Exactly! SO why isn't he sitting behind bars and all of his assets seized?
How on earth could this happen, and why did this man feel entitled to deplete the funds for the care of vulnerable people?
Greed.....it takes someone of good character to be around all that money and not get tempted by it. It probably started out taken out a couple of thousand here and there. And when no one noticed he started taking out bigger amounts. I'm sure he said he'd repay it after some stock he bought or business deal he got into took off. But they never did and he never paid it back. Bonus points if he has a gambling addiction and used it for that.
He should be in jail right now !

So the board who found out about the missing one hundred million dollars over two years ago, instead of bringing in law enforcement agencies brought in a law firm whom I had thought were forensic accountants?!?! This same board after publicly declaring they were getting to the bottom of this just quit and filed bankruptcy. All I them should be in trouble since some of them literally just sat and watched whilst the chairman raided the funds even when he stepped down.
ACCOUNTABILITY NOW.
I hope this man goes to jail, very unfair for the families and people who trusted this institution.

Did the federal seize the assets of the other company? If not, why not? I would think the first thing to do would be to boot that man from the trust and seize any and all of his assets.

This guy Leo Govoni donated mass amounts of money to Republicans running for state and federal office across the state of Florida including his son. He donated minimum 10s of thousands possibly 100s of thousands to the Republican National Party and the Republican Party of Pinellas County(he made donations in various ways including through businesses he owns). Of the few Democrats he donated to virtually all were running in non partisan races(like city council), and there's been no evidence he donated to the DNC or the Democratic Party of Pinellas County.
Weird. Nothing on google about it except a page with a headline mentioning political donations but it doesn’t reference any party. Other than the headline it doesn’t say anything. Clickbait with tons of ads. You got fooled.

He used moneys , held in trust for the vulnerable , as a personal slush fund . There's a special place in hell reserved for him , but till then the law should take him and his family for every cent they have .
