    • @danielvelkovski3156
      @danielvelkovski3156 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Eventually that strategy will backfire. Just “needs to be perfect for 2 seconds” and draws vs Fury.

    • @pimpinmagicianofprophecy
      @pimpinmagicianofprophecy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      As long as biased judges will gift him a draw for a fight he should have lost he should be fine.
      Just wait for the fury rematch. Or until he faces ruiz. He wont look as good then.
      But yes he would probably destroy aj.

      aaron pryor yeah ok so fury got ko’d that’s why he got up fine and gave Wilder a boxing lesson enough to turn a 10-8 round into 10-9. That wouldn’t happen if he was destroyed. Wilder has an inflated resume. First 28 fights opponents ranked 300-400+. Defenses again Molina (school teacher), Szpilka (moving down to cruiserweight), Stiverne (already beat), Washington (ex-football player). You’re the casual actually. Wilder’s resume does not compare to Foreman. It compares to Peter McKneely and Dicky Ryan. Stop turning Wilder into a myth. He took the easiest fights ever one opponent almost rank 500. But omg “he has 40 ko’s” must be good.

      Name me a HOF fighter Mike Tyson beat that wasn't over 30. The two HOF fighters he fought he lost to both of them. The heavyweight division of the '80s and now had the same caliber of fighters. Put it this way who was Tyson's 40th fight against and compare it to Wilder's 40th fight. Stop comparing the eras and enjoy them why we can. If Larry Holmes arm would have never got blocked by the ropes Tyson would have been KO'ed. Then again "if ifs was a fifth then we all would be drunk". The hardest era for heavyweights was the golden era. The main reason we know about them because there was no PPV and no networks to get in the way. That's why we don't know a lot about these heavyweights now is because of the exposer they are not getting.

  • @KuttyJoe
    @KuttyJoe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    LOL That is some pretty good “meat” that Teddy Atlas dropped in this article. Some of those guys he mentioned had a crazy number of knockouts. But how do you measure the bakers and milkmen who were getting knocked out? Wilder is definitely up there but you can’t really say much more than that. There are too many variables.
    As for the Wilder/Fury rematch, I expect a repeat of the last fight. Fury has his boxing. Wilder has his power. If Fury can manage to not walk into a handmine, then Fury should win the fight. Wilder doesn’t have much head movement or footwork. When shorter guys come in, he just stiff arms them to keep their punch from reaching his head, and eventually finds that one shot That ends the fight. But with Fury being the same height, it doesn’t work. And Fury is obviously a better boxer, and is capable of hurting Wilder. Fury just doesn’t have that 1 punch stopping power. So it’s impossible to say who will win, but the action should be the same affair. Fury boxing and moving and scoring points through most of the rounds. Wilder looking for one big punch. If he get it, he wins. If he doesn’t, he loses.

    1) Wilder
    2) Foreman
    3) Earnie Shavers (hits harder than wilder, but he lost a bunch of times and got KO, wilder still yet to be defeated)
    4) Gerald Mclellan (P4P the hardest puncher, every win except one or two were by devastating KO, and one of the most prolific body punchers, nobody could stand his body shots, on top of that he demolished the two men who were regarded as the most devastating punchers of that era: Nigel Ben and Julian Jackson. He only lost his last fight against Nigel Ben due to brain injury, I dont count that as a loss, man was a WARRIOR)
    5) Tyson
    Everybody fought tomato cans moving up, as long as you beating everybody put in front of you, that counts to something. Wilder can definitely KO Joshua, Whyte, Fury, Chisora. Only two guys who could possibly give Wilder trouble are Oleksander Usyk and Andy Ruiz. Usyk has the best boxing IQ out of all these guys and his footwork is unbelievable. If Wilder gets to fight all these guys and go through them, then no questions asked, he's the greatest HW.

      Why would he all of the sudden start fighting all the best fighters? He has spent his whole career avoiding the tough fights. There's a reason why he has held only 1 belt for 7 years. There are 4 other belts he could have gone after. He only fought Tyson bc Fury has no power. Decent boxer but absolutely no chance of Wilder getting hurt. No doubt he's got a great right but that is literally it. He is overrated and he will get Got.

      Yo fam...what the hell are you talking about? Quality of an opponent does mean A LOT! If I got to pick and choose random opponents on the streets (I'm 200 lbs) I'm sure I could KO them too. The problem becomes when I start choosing opponents that are known for KOing mutha fuckas too! Wilder has KOd only one opponent in the top ten (Ortiz twice). Has never unified...let alone become undisputed. He's 34 years old. He better get to building that resume! There's a reason why he doesn't do well in PPV sales...the lack of QUALITY OPPONENTS!

      @@cwhitt8110 Yo son, while I appreciate your dissertation...it's difficult to quantify because of the current era at HW and its quality of opponents. I give Wilder mad credit for his KO percentage (you're ranting like I'm a hater) and statistically he has a high KO ratio. I'm a boxing fan...so I criticize every current boxer...and rightly so. I would say I'm a fan of probably 30 active boxers...and I have pros and cons with all of them. Whether it's Bud, Loma, Canelo, Pac, WIlder, Inoue, Spence, on and on and on.
      With that being said, I rarely listen to anything Teddy has to say. Or at least I listen with a grain of salt. He still has animosity towards Iron Mike...and that's bullshit! Again, Wilder has great stats in this era...but to me...Kid Dynamite/Iron Mike was an absolute MONSTER! My favorite fighter of all time! I believe Iron Mike...because of his height and arm reach (5'10") and his pure potential/kinetic power with both hands...plus his amazing UPPERCUT...was and is unparalleled. Not to mention his defense.
      This isn't to be argumentative...but a conversation between us boxing fans. I have no problem with your comments...I just don't agree with a few of them. We can agree to disagree.

      Top level fighters don’t have better chins they just have better offense and defense. Atlas didn’t say Wilder was the best fighter, only the hardest one punch knockout punch. Wilder’s right hand has speed, length, and power but his lack of boxing makes it harder for him to land it. It’s been proven you can’t knock everybody out so any top guy going the distance against Wilder has a good chance to win.

    Everyone talking bad about Wilder's competition and who he's fought, but no one is saying who he should be fighting, who are these names? I'm a bit confused, he took the WBC title from Bermane Stiverne and knocked him out in the rematch, Luis Ortiz is easily a top 10 fighter if not top 5 and Wilder knocked him out twice. Dominic Breazeale has 22 fights and 18 knock out wins his only losses are to Joshua and Wilder. Eric Molina, Artur Spzika and Chris Arreola are all nice names to have as KO wins as you climb the ranks. Sure Wilder's first 20 wins look like amateur opponents but considering how young he was in the sport and his inexperience I can't fault him for that, I'm sure that helped him improve over the years.

The biggest names on his resume are probably Tyson Fury (Very Questionable Conditioning Level) And Ortiz in his 40's this last fight. You think Ortiz would have beaten prime Lennox Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield or even Wlad Klitschko?
