I will fall to my knees if season 2 gives anyone the Trent treatment. I like this cast too much for them to get the gen 1 treatment where we’re three seasons deep and half of them have either become incredibly exaggerated, parody versions of their former selves or have transformed into completely different characters.
Lol maybe Caleb will have an actual character arc this time 💀 Also, I feel like Millie could potentially have some room to grow as a character in the same manner as Nichelle, like the only reason she made it as far as she did is because Priya carried her hard, which makes sense because she wasn’t there to win, just to observe the behavior of her peers. So perhaps she’ll actually try harder next season and contribute to the competition a little more, like Nichelle seems to be doing from the leaks
I don't think they'll do that with Millie. Her big arc was becoming a better person rather than a better player. She's the most complete character from the cast.
The TDI reboot needs a "bro girl" character like Leshawna, I hope Nichelle will be it. Maybe with the help of Wayne as a motivator. Can't say nothing about Millie we've seen it all.
What I think is gonna happen with Caleb is that he is actually a really sensitive person and he gets so sensitive to being voted out first that he like cries the whole time lol
I'm 100% sure Caleb will be the antagonist next season and is going to get the Justin treatment, we know there is a different villain every season even if it's the same cast, and the only one who can be this season's villain is him, and i pretty sure hell just be another justin
These seasons were written together though. It's not at all like Action where they had to come up with new plots for a cast that were written for one. There is also plenty that can be done with most of the merging cast: Bowie teaching Wayne and Raj how to play the game better, Priya and Damien forming a relationship where Damien learns gameplay and Priya learns to not care as much about the game, a desperate Julia trying to stay in now everyone hates her and she is reliant on her team to do as well as her to stay in etc.
Yes!! Thank you! They never knew if TDI was gonna get a sequel or not so obviously they were gonna keep it pretty self-contained. They ordered 26 episodes for the reboot so they were produced together & I guarantee will be more cohesive.

The second she got outed as a fraud, she was cruel to everyone and physically assaulted most of the remaining contestants. Sure Heather was mean but only personally to Leshawna, Gwen and kind of Owen. The rest of it was just playing the game. Whereas Julia gave every merging contestant a personal reason to hate her.
I think them doing season 2 as Action would’ve been a strong choice too. It allows other people to be strong like Nichelle since she’s in her element and throws people like axel for a loop but they could do an arc where she hates acting but ends up pretty good at it. Julia has proved she can act with her pretending to be nice, MK would probably hate it but instead of hacking confessionals she could change the edit to make her look better and last longer making her teammates mad. Wayne and Raj seem like they’d keep breaking character leading one of them to go home early, Millie, priya, and Zee could go early this season since they both didn’t seem to excel at acting and letting others stay longer. Every influencer character has an excuse to do well since they’re always on camera, or an excuse to fail with their content being heavily edited. Lauren would be a wildcard as always and ripper goes home very early please. Can you tell I’ve been thinking about this a lot?
People didn't wanna defend Ripper, so here I am We're confirmed to see a whole new side of Ripper, and if S1 is foreshadowing anything, this is going to be emotional. Ripper lives with a physically abusive dad and a mother who wishes he was dead. All of his brothers were dropped on their heads, alongside himself, and it's implied that one of them is dead because of it. Therefore, the plotline and character arc for S2 just kinda writes itself. He's probably gonna come face to face with people who challenge his coping mechanisms and Alpha Male attitude, and he'll grow as a result. Honestly, I think he might even be the "protagonist" of S2, if he's not the main antagonist.
Gonna be honest, this was SO much better than season 1. I’m definitely biased cause I love the hockey bros and didn’t really care for characters like Millie and Emma. Idk I was just a lot more interested in the character who went far this season.
8:04 Counter-argument: Zee coming back might not be so great because he could be an early boot in season 2. He already made it past the merge in season 1, and the only way for a season that has the same exact cast to stay fresh is to give more attention to the early boots. It’s not that season 2 is going to be bad, I am looking forward to the new season. For some of our early boots to get a shot in the spotlight. There are a few things I am worried such as character derailment. Some characters that I think are in danger of this are Emma, Bowie, and Priya. I am hoping that Emma breaks up with Chase and Chase leaves early so she can develop on her own without Chase. Caleb is another character that I am excited for but also nervous about what they plan on doing. I am hoping they don’t do a villain arc for him since it would feel repetitive and can cause derailment if it’s not handled properly. I am really looking forward to some Damien, Nichelle, and Axel as well. Julia and Bowie should definitely continue their rivalry with MK stepping up to the villain plate. The Ripper redemption arc could be interesting too.All in all I am excited for next season, but I am afraid of character derailment.
Super agreed. I like Emma but she had no personality outside of Chase which I didn’t like, and him getting eliminated and her staying would let us see her for herself. I think she’s a really fun individual with a lot of potential.
Idc what happens I just want to see more of my girl Axel and see her either being the main villain like Courtney in TDA or just being a beast at challenges until the contestants see her as too much of a threat in the merge and purge her.
if im being honest i think it would’ve made SO much more sense to have a 26-episode season than 3 13-episode seasons. that way we would’ve gotten more out of the characters and their storylines without having these struggles

I still like season 1 better overall. Pre-merge season 2 was peak. The first 5 episodes are the best total drama has ever been, even better than World Tour. But the quality dropped drastically in the latter half of the season, especially with the Caleb and Priya storyline. He did predict something right. They ruined Priya.
I would like to see Damien win this season, and possibly see some conflict because priya likes him But a good chunk of the fandom would like to see him and scary girl together either as a couple or as close friends
Damien and Priya seem to have the most open plotline ready for the writers to expand on. He has just figured out the game and actually wants to stay, allowing him room to be competitive for the first time, and she can explore her feelings for him now that they have that time. Also, I feel like they had the plan in the writers room to pair the two up because "she can teach him the game" but it got lost along the way. It makes zero sense to me why they'd give the expert and unaware duo romantic chemistry if they weren't going to use it 😭
By the way, in the total drama, a little leak, the Italian dialogue in English it says something about scary girl (Lauren) being eliminated first for trying to be normal, and it was too creepy for them

Tbh, I think several people in the reboot have possible arcs to develop -Nichelle learning how to do stunts for real and gaining confidence -MK (and maybe Julia too) learning that team work isn’t a bad thing while still keeping her sarcastic attitude and humor. MK can have a Noah arc route, and hopefully get further than he did in either season. MK has a ton of potential. -Damien using his brainpower to get much further this time -Emma realizing chase sucks and getting him eliminated quickly. Though hopefully she doesn’t last that long either. -Caleb and axel have quite a bunch of possibilities due to their early elimination. Also I think it’d be cool to have lesbian and/or bisexual representation on the show too. We have raj and Wayne for gay men representation, and I think it’d be cool too pair up Nichelle with MK

Rewrite "what-if" vids are always a treat so I say go for it in writing that S2 vid! As for expectations, I am hoping to _GOD_ none of the characters get butchered to the level Trent did in Action. 😭 There are so many characters that could end up that way. Hell, as much as I can't stand Chase, they could easily pull that shit with Emma just to give Chase something to do since, for some godforsaken reason, he made it to the final 6 in S1. If _anything,_ I can see Julia as an early boot just 'cause the whole rest of the cast would know how much work she puts in to be a threat, but that's about it. Same with maybe Priya and Bowie since they were finalists and there's really nothing stopping them from becoming finalists again (apart from it being boring if that were the case). Trent in Action was getting so insecure that he thought throwing challenges for Gwen will make her like him for sure, and started obsessing over number 9 which we later find out has actually nothing to do with Gwen. Why on earth would Emma do that for Chase? And people hate on Action Trent so much so that they completely ignore the fact that his insecurity was highlighted in Island not once but TWICE. He was literally about to beat the crap out of Cody in Up the Creek, and believed all of HEATHER's lies about Gwen in Search Do Not Destroy. It's just another instance of TD fans not knowing what the heck they're talking about. Also Priya and Bowie won't be finalists again. TD never repeats finalists.
Both those instants were still barely anything in comparison to him obsessing over keeping Gwen. Even if Trent was really insecure, his actions in Action felt like flanderization. Like the writers had to blow it up just to force drama between him and Gwen. 'Cause seriously, between how they are in Island and how they are in Action, where was there any signs that Gwen might leave him? They seemed genuinely chill up until Trent starts getting antsy about Gwen and obsessing over the number 9 in Action. I only brought up Emma obsessing over Chase as a random possibility to create drama. Or even "comedy" since Chase spent all of S1 acting as if Emma breaking up with him wasn't even real and that they were just doing another bit. It'd make more sense to have Emma finally realize she doesn't actually like Chase or something along the lines of giving her an arc. I just threw out "Emma obsessing over Chase to the point where Chase is put off and gets an arc about it" as an imaginary worst case scenario. Same with Priya and Bowie. I _know_ TD never repeats finalists. That's really the only thing keeping them from becoming finalists again. Otherwise, *_in-universe,_* there really isn't anything stopping them from getting far into the game again as far as we know. We still don't know how S2 will play out.
What I think. Bowie, Raj, and Wayne. Their story arcs just started. Put Bowie and Wayne on the same team and Raj on a different team (maybe with Caleb). Scary Girl left early, but right before leaving she opened up to regarding Priya as an ally - possible friend. What would Priya be like with someone she has to tone down rather than someone she has to motivate? Lauren could encourage Priya to live her own dreams rather than her parents. Damian now wants to be there. Caleb and Nichelle have stuff to prove. The first season each of them tried coasting. Make Millie have to put some effort into staying and being Priya's friend. Zee is fine the way he is and Ripper is horrible the way he is. I don't see them needing character arcs. Same with Julia, Chase and Emma are a full on train wreck together. Use the cringe, The only two I see as used up are MK and Axel. MK should honestly be in Juvie since she was outed as a thief,

I really don’t want this season to be bad. As great as the first season out of the 2 new ones were, this is really make or break for Fresh TV. Hopefully the shows gets good reviews and a thumbs up for more potential seasons and new storylines. There’s a part of me that wants the old gen cast back but i also want to get to know this cast as well since there’s so much potential. The more cameos, the better.

honestly, I don’t know about this. i have little faith in TD writers in general but there’s absolutely room for some of those characters to have new avenues (but I’m also mad nervous they don’t take any of those paths lmfao) -season 1 priya already left the absolute gaping hole of her lowkey abuse entirely unresolved. if they give enough of a shit they can actually give her an interesting conflict -bowie’s still got his unresolved drama with both emma and julia. honestly would much rather he go early tho with a bigger focus on him and julia as rivals; def agree that the longer he stays the more likely it is he gets crazy derailed. main problem with both of them is giving either a motivation in the first place considering they made finals the first time around -wayne and raj generally work really well as a comedic presence anyway and I wouldn’t be mad to see them stick around just for jokes’ sake. def agree doing the katie/sadie shtick again is their best avenue, just… actually using the characters this time lmfao -emma and chase both have reaaaally solid potential outside of eachother imo, the writers just don’t like using it LMFAO. chase as a douchebag Sam Pepper type prank influencer and emma as a fiery ditz are both fun archetypes that weren’t properly utilised in their first run -MK’s final line really feels like a heavy lead-in for me but I don’t know if anyone else got the same energy. Bowie-style anti-hero who actually manages to make genuine connections this time would be fun, and her mini rivalry with Julia can be extended into a further conflict. honestly if in doubt a character should just bounce off of Julia, genuinely the conflict lynchpin of the season cant make too many excuses for Millie and Ripper tho. i think there’s definitely ways they can take the new season in a more interesting direction- it’s just down to if the writers gaf enough to follow through

Jesus, what big TD fans we have here. Despite the previous 2 seasons we have seen both being well written most people enjoy (RR and the S1 of the reboot) we STILL have little faith in the writers. Let's not even get into the fact that Island, Revenge of the Island and World Tour were made by the same people and most people like those seasons too. And Action might not be as beloved, but there were plenty of good things about that season as well.

both seasons were written at the same time, one after another. so i honestly don’t think season 2 will be THAT bad. i have my own predictions for season 2 but i definitely think plot lines will involve bowie and emma making up, chase and emma BREAKING up, and priya possibly quitting. i have my hopes up tbh, i think it’ll be alright.
literally the only character growth i can see in the cast for next season (besides caleb because bro got literally no characterization) is a nichelle/axel redemption arc. and honestly it seems like it would be similar to a millie/priya situation if they're on the same team (axel helps nichelle become a better competitor, the both grow more humble together), and honestly i'm here for it, but it feels boring tbh.

WHAT??? I only just found this video but Jesus is this bad. First of all, the links to Action are pointless. Not only was Island a double length season but it was also the most character focused, Action had such a hard time with Gwen and such because they already had an ENTIRE seasons worth and it's most likely they never planned for a season 2. 2023 on the other hand has characters how have had half a season of time, are generally WAY less one note as characters than a lot of the original TD (besides like Scary Girl and Caleb) AND they planned this season out in advance, they already KNEW what they were going to do even before Season 1. The reason TDA sucked isn't because they didn't have ideas, the reason TDA sucked is because they CHOSE to focus on bad plotlines while striving for drama. Forcing characters like Trent and Leshawna to do weird or bad things in order to cause the drama instead of going off what the characters WOULD do. Every single character in Action could have been good AND most were. 2023 S2 being bad because Action was bad is such a weird thing to complain about and I feel like this entire video was just made for the title because none of these points are... Anything. Like they hold no weight under the slightest bit of thought. You could say the same thing about All Stars. "Oh Wow 2 casts mixed together? That sounds GREAT!" but as we all know it wasn't... We just don't know until it comes out...
@@hexx9065 My issue isn't that they made the video. My issue is that they titled it and described it as if this was complete fact. Which generally hurts the show. With Total Drama being cancelled and Dramarama racking in cash they need all the support possible to keep making seasons. Making a video talking out your ass about things that won't happen. (Like Action isn't even comparable to 2023 outside of both of them being 2nd seasons) just makes the season look bad when it isn't even out yet.
I actually liked Action, it's the funniest season to me and the challenges being movie inspired made them really fun to watch. I also liked Leshawna's arc because it resulted in a shocking Heather elimination and Leshawna and Heather bonding for a while It made her more three dimensional without making her unlikeable in the process as you can understand her point of view, and she does develop by the end of it. The Lindsay vs Courtney rivalry was also fun, and I liked DJ's arc too. The Trent one did suck tho.
I agree with this, but we also need to keep in mind that the OG cast was thought to only have one season when it first came out, and eventually got more. This time around they knew they'd have 2 seasons from the beginning, so hopefully it's better planned out!!!
Ok so you’re wrong and right. I feel like comparing it to the total drama action is like a concerned fan thing to do. However, I feel like the Creators would’ve looked at total drama action and went. “Oh, let’s not do this again.” And for the most part, they actually did that. I like to attribute that to Emma and Chase being voted out relatively early, which means you know good riddance their arc was already wrapped up. MK has a new arc to focus on in line with her sneaky character while gaining her an alliance with Julia, which just also makes sense for a character until she finally gets her comeuppance, which is a great thing. One thing that does bother me, though is that we have Damien it almost seems like he’s gone back to the way he acted in season one and I just want to see more growth from him. Nichelle was absolutely dog doo like I don’t know what they’re trying to do with her character, but they kind of fumbled the bag with whatever that vision was supposed to be. Basically from like episode one and she becomes something that’s kind of predictable. She becomes a Mary Sue because she went training and now she’s like the best competitor there and then she stays that way with no character goals or emotions for several episodes until she gets eliminated because she thinks Hollywood wants her back. I will say though I think Julia is shaping up to be a awesome villain, especially since in season one she kind of, you know, had that dog in her and was mean and bully people and that’s why she was a villain quote on quote but in this season, she’s actively messing with people like Bowie and Nichelle and that’s beautiful. She is becoming a full-fledged villain. Bowies arc is a little bit similar to Trent’s arc only because of how short it is and how evident the show writers really wanted to eliminate him early. The best part about it, though is they don’t ruin his character but it’s very obvious by all the alliances and friendships he’s broken, nobody would’ve trusted him by that point, except for his boyfriend and his friend.
idk if it necessarily fair to say action was a bad sequel to island, like yeah episodes 2-6 are not very good and absolutely ruin characters like trent and gwen, but once those two trainwrecks are gone it really picks up. duncan and harolds dynamic, courtneys entire presence in the season, literally every scene with lindsay, and ik its kinda a hot take but i like leshawnas arc in action they gave her something to do without completing offrailing her character. and when it comes to being fearful of season 2 of the reboot, yedah with the leaks we've gotten idk how i really feel atm, scary girl getting booted first isn't ideal so i hope your theory about her is true. with season 2 i hope characters like julia, priya, chase, and millie are gone early (i hate the last 3) and we get to see mk kinda step into primary antagonist role or maybe caleb. speaking of caleb he is just a blank slate so i am very excited to see what they do with him, glad he isn't just zeke again and getting booteed first again. definitely worried that bowie could very easily get flanderized this season, especially since him and raj were the big romance of s1 like trent and gwen. but no matter what the season has zee so its peak (istg if zee goes early or gets ruined i will riot)
I think it would be cool if at some point the writers gave the big brother show treatment to veteran characters. Like, have a 90% new cast, but bring back around 1 or 2 previous contestants such as Owen and Zee. It would bring in fans of the older casts without having to bring back the entire rosters so the writers don’t Trent-ify anyone and they only bring back characters for the purpose of making them grow or giving them something interesting to do.
You were kinda half right and wrong, All in all i believe this season is better than season 1, if you think otherwise idk what you're watching honestly. Challenges feel better paced and less rushed while also being entertaining, characters that didn't get enough shine last season got some redemption for the most part and the characters that already made a name for themselves actually haven't been too bad, only person I'd say that got derailed is Bowie (not anything major but his character just felt stagnant this season) only thing i can say i dislike is the eliminations, it felt like they had no idea what to do after like ep 4, anyways that's the end of my yap session
I think everyone that was eliminated pre-merge could carry the season. Caleb has a lot of room for villainy and a rivalry with Bowie. Maybe MK can use confessionals to cause drama and get people on her side, Damien has a possible relationship with Priya. Maybe Caleb and Julia could team up to get Bowie eliminated, Maybe Nichelle forms strong bonds with people. What if Wayne and Bowie are eliminated and now Raj has to find new Allies. This season probably won’t be as good but it definitely has some potential.

I do agree on Millie, I feel like she's definitely a lock-in for early boot and she already got her time to shine. As for the rest: •We have not even remotely touched on Priya's family situation yet, which is brought up enough that I feel like it being explored is not out of the realm of possibility..? •As another commenter said, Bowie & Emma have unfinished business. Bowie also has his rivalry with Julia, and relationship with Raj which has some story left in it. •Wayne & Raj serve as fine comic relief anyways and I'm almost anticipating a more Wayne-centric plot this time around..? We see them a lot as a duo, and not as individuals. I would not be surprised if one left earlier than the other. •Based on what we've heard (like from his VA) we could be looking at a Ripper redemption arc of sorts? I'm really indifferent on him & I don't think a "redemption" is necessary, but it wouldn't be bad either. •MK also has unfinished business (Julia) and I feel like her first elimination is done very deliberately to put her in an underdog type position. This also doesn't account for the other 7(?) characters who you believe have story left in them, nor the new interactions & conflicts that will inevitably develop from the new teams. Of course, there's the argument of "TD infamously has bad writing, so this season will not live up to its potential", but it's so..unoptimistic? If this season was good & clearly made with care, why wouldn't the next one made by the same people-at the same time-be? They're not out of material, you are just unimaginative.

I think you're HIGHLY underestimating how far TDI has come since Dramarama. You even thought Season 1 of the reboot would be trash, and look at how good it was, so honestly your foresight and predictions are highly questionable and probably as trash as Pahkitew. Despite there being storylines that felt wrapped up, there's so many that felt like they just started. There's things like; Nichelle's journey to be better, Raj and Bowie's, now official, relationship, Damien getting the motivation to actually try and win, among others. Emma and Chase's relationship is also just holding on by a thread, and it'll probably crumble in the first episode, opening up their ability to get individual storylines, because let's face it, season 1 Emma and Chase revolved solely around their non-existent relationship. I'd love to see a parallel with Bowie comforting Emma about her relationship, with now Emma talking to Bowie about his, and I'd also love to see Zee and Chase become an official comedic duo. Wayne and Raj were also inseparable this season, even getting eliminated on the same episode, so I'd love to see one of them get booted early so we can see the other become more independent and have a new storyline, or have them on separate teams, so we can see their more competitive sides come out. Trying to 1 up the other. Especially considering how serious Canadian hockey players take the sport, they can get pretty violent. There's a reason why some Canadians call it "MMA on ice". There's also Caleb and Axel who never really got any story in season 1, and are perfect candidates to take bigger roles next season, so we get to see more of their personalities.
Well, the issue is, Total Drama is the absolute worst when it comes to squandering potential and Season 2 is living proof of that. I hated everyone by the end of that season.

Season 2 could be bad if they act like some things from Season 1 never happened. I'm not worried about derailment, writers are the same, but about continuity, giving the same characters a new plot can be an issue.
Maybe I'm too optimistic but I don't think it's going to be a bad season and one of the reasons is that Originally the producers pitched a one long season with 26 episodes but CN demanded to make it two seasons of 13 episodes. so I guess the writers simply split the idea of the one season into two seasons and so their split the storylines. those season were written back to back so...
At second 1:19 he says characters with more personalities. He forgot about Mike :c Ik people say season 4, 5, 6, 7 suck but 4 and 5 is a chef kiss (realizes chef is a character)
in my opinion i think theyre just gonna ignore focusing on bowie priya and all the good people and rather focus on people like nichelle,axel,scary girl and damien. damien has a lot of potential and even wanted to stay but got voted. nichelle i think is gonna get a redemption and i think axel may help nichelle (see them talking on the loser benches) if it is something to do with horror,i heard scary girl is gonna get the boot early (i think) so maybe she will take charge,be a new host,intern or who knows. maybe even spy like she spied underneath the cabin when axel fed them squirrel. i also think they might give caleb a redemption arc. just like justin he was seen for his looks,nothing else but in s2 it ALL changed, i think this will happen with caleb too as he was clearly mad about getting voted. with raj and wayne i think theyre gonna make one get booted early,or wayne MIGHT get annoyed that raj is focusing and talking/hanging out with bowie more than wayne. i also think mk might actually get far s2,sure she got everyone annoyed with the hacking confessional things but i really do feel like she has SOME potential.
I disagree with this. There is definitely room for growth for a lot of these characters. Caleb, Axel and Nichelle all need more screen time. While Chase and Emma got back together, there is still so much room for growth because they’ll probably be back at square one at the beginning of the season and maybe Emma can finally drop him for good. Thinking of Emma, she and Bowie have a friendship that needs to be redeemed as well. As for Priya, she could have a relationship with Damien as the two have hints at being attracted to each other. Damien also could have some growth now that he actually has an interest in being on the show. That’s just to name a few. I also hate that you didn’t mention World Tour at all despite it being an improvement over Action other than the derailment of Team Victory.

My predictions/hopes for next season elimitaion order: 16. Ripper (worst character imo, had enough development, bye bye) 15. Millie (was 3rd last time and isnt super interesting imo) 14. Wayne (I really like Wayne but yeah one of hockey players needs to go out early, Im leaving Raj for plot with Bowie) 13. MK (most overrated character) 12. Chase (might be lower) 11. Emma (might be lower) 10. & 9. Bowie and Raj (I really like them but already developed characters) 8. Nichelle (this high for development but I dont find her as fun character) 7. Scary Girl (top3 character IMO but I cannot see her any further tbh) 6. Axel (for development and some kind of 2nd/3rd tier antagonist) 5. Zee (one of the best characters in TD2023 but I cannot see him as a winner) 4. Julia (pretty competetive and interesting character) 3. Caleb (for development and some kind of 1st/2nd tier antagonist) 2. I like this cast too much for them to get the gen 1 treatment where we’re three seasons deep and half of them have either become incredibly exaggerated, parody versions of their former selves or have transformed into completely different characters.

So perhaps she’ll actually try harder next season and contribute to the competition a little more, like Nichelle seems to be doing from the leaks
I don't think they'll do that with Millie. Her big arc was becoming a better person rather than a better player. She's the most complete character from the cast.

What I think is gonna happen with Caleb is that he is actually a really sensitive person and he gets so sensitive to being voted out first that he like cries the whole time lol
I'm 100% sure Caleb will be the antagonist next season and is going to get the Justin treatment, we know there is a different villain every season even if it's the same cast, and the only one who can be this season's villain is him, and i pretty sure hell just be another justin
These seasons were written together though. It's not at all like Action where they had to come up with new plots for a cast that were written for one. There is also plenty that can be done with most of the merging cast:
Bowie teaching Wayne and Raj how to play the game better, Priya and Damien forming a relationship where Damien learns gameplay and Priya learns to not care as much about the game, a desperate Julia trying to stay in now everyone hates her and she is reliant on her team to do as well as her to stay in etc.

Yes!! Thank you! They never knew if TDI was gonna get a sequel or not so obviously they were gonna keep it pretty self-contained. They ordered 26 episodes for the reboot so they were produced together & I guarantee will be more cohesive.

The second she got outed as a fraud, she was cruel to everyone and physically assaulted most of the remaining contestants. Sure Heather was mean but only personally to Leshawna, Gwen and kind of Owen. The rest of it was just playing the game. Whereas Julia gave every merging contestant a personal reason to hate her.
I think them doing season 2 as Action would’ve been a strong choice too. It allows other people to be strong like Nichelle since she’s in her element and throws people like axel for a loop but they could do an arc where she hates acting but ends up pretty good at it. Julia has proved she can act with her pretending to be nice, MK would probably hate it but instead of hacking confessionals she could change the edit to make her look better and last longer making her teammates mad. Wayne and Raj seem like they’d keep breaking character leading one of them to go home early, Millie, priya, and Zee could go early this season since they both didn’t seem to excel at acting and letting others stay longer. Every influencer character has an excuse to do well since they’re always on camera, or an excuse to fail with their content being heavily edited. Lauren would be a wildcard as always and ripper goes home very early please. Can you tell I’ve been thinking about this a lot?

We're confirmed to see a whole new side of Ripper, and if S1 is foreshadowing anything, this is going to be emotional. Ripper lives with a physically abusive dad and a mother who wishes he was dead. All of his brothers were dropped on their heads, alongside himself, and it's implied that one of them is dead because of it. Therefore, the plotline and character arc for S2 just kinda writes itself. He's probably gonna come face to face with people who challenge his coping mechanisms and Alpha Male attitude, and he'll grow as a result. Honestly, I think he might even be the "protagonist" of S2, if he's not the main antagonist.

Gonna be honest, this was SO much better than season 1. I’m definitely biased cause I love the hockey bros and didn’t really care for characters like Millie and Emma. Idk I was just a lot more interested in the character who went far this season.

It’s not that season 2 is going to be bad, I am looking forward to the new season. For some of our early boots to get a shot in the spotlight. There are a few things I am worried such as character derailment. Some characters that I think are in danger of this are Emma, Bowie, and Priya. I am hoping that Emma breaks up with Chase and Chase leaves early so she can develop on her own without Chase. Caleb is another character that I am excited for but also nervous about what they plan on doing. I am hoping they don’t do a villain arc for him since it would feel repetitive and can cause derailment if it’s not handled properly. I am really looking forward to some Damien, Nichelle, and Axel as well. Julia and Bowie should definitely continue their rivalry with MK stepping up to the villain plate. The Ripper redemption arc could be interesting too.All in all I am excited for next season, but I am afraid of character derailment.

I still like season 1 better overall. Pre-merge season 2 was peak. The first 5 episodes are the best total drama has ever been, even better than World Tour. But the quality dropped drastically in the latter half of the season, especially with the Caleb and Priya storyline.
He did predict something right. They ruined Priya.
I would like to see Damien win this season, and possibly see some conflict because priya likes him But a good chunk of the fandom would like to see him and scary girl together either as a couple or as close friends
Damien and Priya seem to have the most open plotline ready for the writers to expand on. He has just figured out the game and actually wants to stay, allowing him room to be competitive for the first time, and she can explore her feelings for him now that they have that time.
Also, I feel like they had the plan in the writers room to pair the two up because "she can teach him the game" but it got lost along the way. It makes zero sense to me why they'd give the expert and unaware duo romantic chemistry if they weren't going to use it 😭

Tbh, I think several people in the reboot have possible arcs to develop
-Nichelle learning how to do stunts for real and gaining confidence
-MK (and maybe Julia too) learning that team work isn’t a bad thing while still keeping her sarcastic attitude and humor. MK can have a Noah arc route, and hopefully get further than he did in either season. MK has a ton of potential.
-Damien using his brainpower to get much further this time
-Emma realizing chase sucks and getting him eliminated quickly. Though hopefully she doesn’t last that long either.
-Caleb and axel have quite a bunch of possibilities due to their early elimination.
Also I think it’d be cool to have lesbian and/or bisexual representation on the show too. We have raj and Wayne for gay men representation, and I think it’d be cool too pair up Nichelle with MK

Rewrite "what-if" vids are always a treat so I say go for it in writing that S2 vid! As for expectations, I am hoping to _GOD_ none of the characters get butchered to the level Trent did in Action. 😭 There are so many characters that could end up that way. Hell, as much as I can't stand Chase, they could easily pull that shit with Emma just to give Chase something to do since, for some godforsaken reason, he made it to the final 6 in S1.
If _anything,_ I can see Julia as an early boot just 'cause the whole rest of the cast would know how much work she puts in to be a threat, but that's about it. Same with maybe Priya and Bowie since they were finalists and there's really nothing stopping them from becoming finalists again (apart from it being boring if that were the case). They might even give Priya an arc where she quits on live TV instead of trying to maintain a champion streak that her parents will most likely want from her. Do you even know what you are talking about? Trent in Action was getting so insecure that he thought throwing challenges for Gwen will make her like him for sure, and started obsessing over number 9 which we later find out has actually nothing to do with Gwen. Why on earth would Emma do that for Chase? And people hate on Action Trent so much so that they completely ignore the fact that his insecurity was highlighted in Island not once but TWICE. He was literally about to beat the crap out of Cody in Up the Creek, and believed all of HEATHER's lies about Gwen in Search Do Not Destroy. It's just another instance of TD fans not knowing what the heck they're talking about.
Also Priya and Bowie won't be finalists again. TD never repeats finalists.
Both those instants were still barely anything in comparison to him obsessing over keeping Gwen. Even if Trent was really insecure, his actions in Action felt like flanderization. Like the writers had to blow it up just to force drama between him and Gwen. 'Cause seriously, between how they are in Island and how they are in Action, where was there any signs that Gwen might leave him? They seemed genuinely chill up until Trent starts getting antsy about Gwen and obsessing over the number 9 in Action.
I only brought up Emma obsessing over Chase as a random possibility to create drama. Or even "comedy" since Chase spent all of S1 acting as if Emma breaking up with him wasn't even real and that they were just doing another bit. It'd make more sense to have Emma finally realize she doesn't actually like Chase or something along the lines of giving her an arc. I just threw out "Emma obsessing over Chase to the point where Chase is put off and gets an arc about it" as an imaginary worst case scenario.
Same with Priya and Bowie. I _know_ TD never repeats finalists. That's really the only thing keeping them from becoming finalists again. Otherwise, *_in-universe,_* there really isn't anything stopping them from getting far into the game again as far as we know. We still don't know how S2 will play out.

Bowie, Raj, and Wayne. Their story arcs just started. Put Bowie and Wayne on the same team and Raj on a different team (maybe with Caleb).
Scary Girl left early, but right before leaving she opened up to regarding Priya as an ally - possible friend. What would Priya be like with someone she has to tone down rather than someone she has to motivate? Lauren could encourage Priya to live her own dreams rather than her parents.
Damian now wants to be there.
Caleb and Nichelle have stuff to prove. The first season each of them tried coasting.
Make Millie have to put some effort into staying and being Priya's friend.

I really don’t want this season to be bad. As great as the first season out of the 2 new ones were, this is really make or break for Fresh TV. Hopefully the shows gets good reviews and a thumbs up for more potential seasons and new storylines. There’s a part of me that wants the old gen cast back but i also want to get to know this cast as well since there’s so much potential. The more cameos, the better.

-season 1 priya already left the absolute gaping hole of her lowkey abuse entirely unresolved. if they give enough of a shit they can actually give her an interesting conflict
-bowie’s still got his unresolved drama with both emma and julia. honestly would much rather he go early tho with a bigger focus on him and julia as rivals; def agree that the longer he stays the more likely it is he gets crazy derailed. main problem with both of them is giving either a motivation in the first place considering they made finals the first time around
-wayne and raj generally work really well as a comedic presence anyway and I wouldn’t be mad to see them stick around just for jokes’ sake. def agree doing the katie/sadie shtick again is their best avenue, just… actually using the characters this time lmfao
-emma and chase both have reaaaally solid potential outside of eachother imo, the writers just don’t like using it LMFAO. chase as a douchebag Sam Pepper type prank influencer and emma as a fiery ditz are both fun archetypes that weren’t properly utilised in their first run
-MK’s final line really feels like a heavy lead-in for me but I don’t know if anyone else got the same energy. Bowie-style anti-hero who actually manages to make genuine connections this time would be fun, and her mini rivalry with Julia can be extended into a further conflict. honestly if in doubt a character should just bounce off of Julia, genuinely the conflict lynchpin of the season
cant make too many excuses for Millie and Ripper tho. i think there’s definitely ways they can take the new season in a more interesting direction- it’s just down to if the writers gaf enough to follow through

Jesus, what big TD fans we have here. Despite the previous 2 seasons we have seen both being well written most people enjoy (RR and the S1 of the reboot) we STILL have little faith in the writers. Let's not even get into the fact that Island, Revenge of the Island and World Tour were made by the same people and most people like those seasons too. And Action might not be as beloved, but there were plenty of good things about that season as well.

both seasons were written at the same time, one after another. so i honestly don’t think season 2 will be THAT bad. i have my own predictions for season 2 but i definitely think plot lines will involve bowie and emma making up, chase and emma BREAKING up, and priya possibly quitting. i have my hopes up tbh, i think it’ll be alright.
literally the only character growth i can see in the cast for next season (besides caleb because bro got literally no characterization) is a nichelle/axel redemption arc. and honestly it seems like it would be similar to a millie/priya situation if they're on the same team (axel helps nichelle become a better competitor, the both grow more humble together), and honestly i'm here for it, but it feels boring tbh.

Honestly I doubt he'll fart that much next season (and if he does it'll probably be the bare minimum with once each episode or something) I can see him being told to calm tf down and not be rude to people by someone like Damien or Priya or someone. I can see him turning into an anti-hero

WHAT??? I only just found this video but Jesus is this bad.
First of all, the links to Action are pointless. Not only was Island a double length season but it was also the most character focused, Action had such a hard time with Gwen and such because they already had an ENTIRE seasons worth and it's most likely they never planned for a season 2. 2023 on the other hand has characters how have had half a season of time, are generally WAY less one note as characters than a lot of the original TD (besides like Scary Girl and Caleb) AND they planned this season out in advance, they already KNEW what they were going to do even before Season 1.
The reason TDA sucked isn't because they didn't have ideas, the reason TDA sucked is because they CHOSE to focus on bad plotlines while striving for drama. Forcing characters like Trent and Leshawna to do weird or bad things in order to cause the drama instead of going off what the characters WOULD do. Every single character in Action could have been good AND most were.
2023 S2 being bad because Action was bad is such a weird thing to complain about and I feel like this entire video was just made for the title because none of these points are... Anything. Like they hold no weight under the slightest bit of thought.
You could say the same thing about All Stars. "Oh Wow 2 casts mixed together? That sounds GREAT!" but as we all know it wasn't... We just don't know until it comes out...

@@hexx9065 My issue isn't that they made the video. My issue is that they titled it and described it as if this was complete fact. Which generally hurts the show. With Total Drama being cancelled and Dramarama racking in cash they need all the support possible to keep making seasons.
Making a video talking out your ass about things that won't happen. (Like Action isn't even comparable to 2023 outside of both of them being 2nd seasons) just makes the season look bad when it isn't even out yet.

I actually liked Action, it's the funniest season to me and the challenges being movie inspired made them really fun to watch. I also liked Leshawna's arc because it resulted in a shocking Heather elimination and Leshawna and Heather bonding for a while It made her more three dimensional without making her unlikeable in the process as you can understand her point of view, and she does develop by the end of it. The Lindsay vs Courtney rivalry was also fun, and I liked DJ's arc too. The Trent one did suck tho.

I agree with this, but we also need to keep in mind that the OG cast was thought to only have one season when it first came out, and eventually got more. This time around they knew they'd have 2 seasons from the beginning, so hopefully it's better planned out!!!
Ok so you’re wrong and right. I feel like comparing it to the total drama action is like a concerned fan thing to do. However, I feel like the Creators would’ve looked at total drama action and went. “Oh, let’s not do this again.” And for the most part, they actually did that. I like to attribute that to Emma and Chase being voted out relatively early, which means you know good riddance their arc was already wrapped up. MK has a new arc to focus on in line with her sneaky character while gaining her an alliance with Julia, which just also makes sense for a character until she finally gets her comeuppance, which is a great thing. One thing that does bother me, though is that we have Damien it almost seems like he’s gone back to the way he acted in season one and I just want to see more growth from him. Nichelle was absolutely dog doo like I don’t know what they’re trying to do with her character, but they kind of fumbled the bag with whatever that vision was supposed to be. Basically from like episode one and she becomes something that’s kind of predictable. She becomes a Mary Sue because she went training and now she’s like the best competitor there and then she stays that way with no character goals or emotions for several episodes until she gets eliminated because she thinks Hollywood wants her back. I will say though I think Julia is shaping up to be a awesome villain, especially since in season one she kind of, you know, had that dog in her and was mean and bully people and that’s why she was a villain quote on quote but in this season, she’s actively messing with people like Bowie and Nichelle and that’s beautiful. She is becoming
a full-fledged villain. Bowies arc is a little bit similar to Trent’s arc only because of how short it is and how evident the show writers really wanted to eliminate him early. The best part about it, though is they don’t ruin his character but it’s very obvious by all the alliances and friendships he’s broken, nobody would’ve trusted him by that point, except for his boyfriend and his friend.

idk if it necessarily fair to say action was a bad sequel to island, like yeah episodes 2-6 are not very good and absolutely ruin characters like trent and gwen, but once those two trainwrecks are gone it really picks up. duncan and harolds dynamic, courtneys entire presence in the season, literally every scene with lindsay, and ik its kinda a hot take but i like leshawnas arc in action they gave her something to do without completing offrailing her character. and when it comes to being fearful of season 2 of the reboot, yedah with the leaks we've gotten idk how i really feel atm, scary girl getting booted first isn't ideal so i hope your theory about her is true. with season 2 i hope characters like julia, priya, chase, and millie are gone early (i hate the last 3) and we get to see mk kinda step into primary antagonist role or maybe caleb. speaking of caleb he is just a blank slate so i am very excited to see what they do with him, glad he isn't just zeke again and getting booteed first again. definitely worried that bowie could very easily get flanderized this season, especially since him and raj were the big romance of s1 like trent and gwen. but no matter what the season has zee so its peak (istg if zee goes early or gets ruined i will riot)
I think it would be cool if at some point the writers gave the big brother show treatment to veteran characters. Like, have a 90% new cast, but bring back around 1 or 2 previous contestants such as Owen and Zee. It would bring in fans of the older casts without having to bring back the entire rosters so the writers don’t Trent-ify anyone and they only bring back characters for the purpose of making them grow or giving them something interesting to do.
You were kinda half right and wrong, All in all i believe this season is better than season 1, if you think otherwise idk what you're watching honestly. Challenges feel better paced and less rushed while also being entertaining, characters that didn't get enough shine last season got some redemption for the most part and the characters that already made a name for themselves actually haven't been too bad, only person I'd say that got derailed is Bowie (not anything major but his character just felt stagnant this season) only thing i can say i dislike is the eliminations, it felt like they had no idea what to do after like ep 4, anyways that's the end of my yap session
Guess what we're half season 2 rn and it's awesome (even better than S1 imo)

I think everyone that was eliminated pre-merge could carry the season. Caleb has a lot of room for villainy and a rivalry with Bowie. Maybe MK can use confessionals to cause drama and get people on her side, Damien has a possible relationship with Priya. Maybe Caleb and Julia could team up to get Bowie eliminated, Maybe Nichelle forms strong bonds with people. What if Wayne and Bowie are eliminated and now Raj has to find new Allies.
This season probably won’t be as good but it definitely has some potential.

I...strongly disagree with this video. I feel like you're completely disregarding what S1 has clearly sought out to set up + the fact that new interactions are, like, allowed to exist.
I do agree on Millie, I feel like she's definitely a lock-in for early boot and she already got her time to shine. As for the rest:
•We have not even remotely touched on Priya's family situation yet, which is brought up enough that I feel like it being explored is not out of the realm of possibility..?
•As another commenter said, Bowie & Emma have unfinished business. Bowie also has his rivalry with Julia, and relationship with Raj which has some story left in it.
•Wayne & Raj serve as fine comic relief anyways and I'm almost anticipating a more Wayne-centric plot this time around..? We see them a lot as a duo, and not as individuals. I would not be surprised if one left earlier than the other.
•Based on what we've heard (like from his VA) we could be looking at a Ripper redemption arc of sorts? I'm really indifferent on him & I don't think a "redemption" is necessary, but it wouldn't be bad either.
•MK also has unfinished business (Julia) and I feel like her first elimination is done very deliberately to put her in an underdog type position.
This also doesn't account for the other 7(?) characters who you believe have story left in them, nor the new interactions & conflicts that will inevitably develop from the new teams.
Of course, there's the argument of "TD infamously has bad writing, so this season will not live up to its potential", but it's so..unoptimistic? If this season was good & clearly made with care, why wouldn't the next one made by the same people-at the same time-be? They're not out of material, you are just unimaginative.

I think you're HIGHLY underestimating how far TDI has come since Dramarama. You even thought Season 1 of the reboot would be trash, and look at how good it was, so honestly your foresight and predictions are highly questionable and probably as trash as Pahkitew.
Despite there being storylines that felt wrapped up, there's so many that felt like they just started. There's things like; Nichelle's journey to be better, Raj and Bowie's, now official, relationship, Damien getting the motivation to actually try and win, among others.
Emma and Chase's relationship is also just holding on by a thread, and it'll probably crumble in the first episode, opening up their ability to get individual storylines, because let's face it, season 1 Emma and Chase revolved solely around their non-existent relationship. I'd love to see a parallel with Bowie comforting Emma about her relationship, with now Emma talking to Bowie about his, and I'd also love to see Zee and Chase become an official comedic duo.
Wayne and Raj were also inseparable this season, even getting eliminated on the same episode, so I'd love to see one of them get booted early so we can see the other become more independent and have a new storyline, or have them on separate teams, so we can see their more competitive sides come out. Trying to 1 up the other. Especially considering how serious Canadian hockey players take the sport, they can get pretty violent. There's a reason why some Canadians call it "MMA on ice".
There's also Caleb and Axel who never really got any story in season 1, and are perfect candidates to take bigger roles next season, so we get to see more of their personalities.
Well, the issue is, Total Drama is the absolute worst when it comes to squandering potential and Season 2 is living proof of that.
I hated everyone by the end of that season.

Season 2 could be bad if they act like some things from Season 1 never happened. I'm not worried about derailment, writers are the same, but about continuity, giving the same characters a new plot can be an issue.
Maybe I'm too optimistic but I don't think it's going to be a bad season and one of the reasons is that Originally the producers pitched a one long season with 26 episodes but CN demanded to make it two seasons of 13 episodes. so I guess the writers simply split the idea of the one season into two seasons and so their split the storylines. those season were written back to back so...

in my opinion i think theyre just gonna ignore focusing on bowie priya and all the good people and rather focus on people like nichelle,axel,scary girl and damien. damien has a lot of potential and even wanted to stay but got voted. nichelle i think is gonna get a redemption and i think axel may help nichelle (see them talking on the loser benches) if it is something to do with horror,i heard scary girl is gonna get the boot early (i think) so maybe she will take charge,be a new host,intern or who knows. maybe even spy like she spied underneath the cabin when axel fed them squirrel. i also think they might give caleb a redemption arc. just like justin he was seen for his looks,nothing else but in s2 it ALL changed, i think this will happen with caleb too as he was clearly mad about getting voted. with raj and wayne i think theyre gonna make one get booted early,or wayne MIGHT get annoyed that raj is focusing and talking/hanging out with bowie more than wayne. i also think mk might actually get far s2,sure she got everyone annoyed with the hacking confessional things but i really do feel like she has SOME potential.
I disagree with this. There is definitely room for growth for a lot of these characters. Caleb, Axel and Nichelle all need more screen time. While Chase and Emma got back together, there is still so much room for growth because they’ll probably be back at square one at the beginning of the season and maybe Emma can finally drop him for good. Thinking of Emma, she and Bowie have a friendship that needs to be redeemed as well. As for Priya, she could have a relationship with Damien as the two have hints at being attracted to each other. Damien also could have some growth now that he actually has an interest in being on the show. That’s just to name a few. I also hate that you didn’t mention World Tour at all despite it being an improvement over Action other than the derailment of Team Victory.
World Tour was an improvement of Action and still was bad for me. The highest i could give it was like a 4/10 tbh
