    Very informative.
    I think I have decided on the H, now all I have to do is hit the Powerball. Gonna get one that's all murdered out, shiny black paint, triple slide.

    Love this and I'm (wife too!) all about the "X". Gotta have that look, don't care about insane paint, we're short and don't need big headroom, don't need/want slides, also gotta have those commercial-grade, overbuilt huge bay opening mechanisms.
    We're all about that magnificent classic coach.
    This whole subject is just plain exciting to learn about. God-willing, we will own one.

    Very well done video! Prevost sounds like the way to go in the world of RV's! I love the stainless look, sounds like one with rivets would be better, to avoid delamination.

    As a retired tour coach Prevost driver.In The XL the longer wheelbase will have a 4 speed transmission. The reason for more overhang on the rear is to allow installation of a 6speed. I have driven both and without going into detail, I can say that once the 6 speed became available in 1995 the 4 speeds were almost impossible to sell and I never liked the 4 speed. I would never buy a coach with the 4speed and am surprised to learn that they are still using them in some coaches.

    Great video full of information but I still can't decide. There's no coach as beautiful as an X but the extra room in the H would be very advantageous. Furthermore, the X is a very unique coach while the H is pretty much indistinguishable from other brands such as Setra, Neoplan, Scania, etc.. What about wind? Since the H has a considerably higher profile, it seems that it would be more vulnerable to crosswinds out on the open road.

      As stated in the video, I've never driven an H, but I now have more than 8K miles on my X3 and have not yet driven in a situation where I felt out of control of the bus due to winds. The highest wind speeds I've driven is in the mid 30's. Possibly others can chime-in with opinions on this.

    I love siri’s you’re doing on the Prevosts and wish I could have one but that is something that is way out of my price range. But if it was in my price range Prevost would be the first thing on my list.

    H3 for passenger coach, X for motorhome coach. That's my choice.

    Just stumbled on this. Informative, but....if I were going with a Prevost it'd have to be riveted stainless. $20 - $40k to repair delaminatied siding after 10 to 12 years is a no-go. If I buy a "million mile coach" then I shouldn't have worry about the outer structure costing that much that soon. That's the same type of money I'd spend keeping a half-million mile coach running for the length of time I'd use it.

    Yes with almost a foot taller the Gs will feel and be higher, especially 45 feet long ✅

    The drivers seat is lower in a H3 which is obvious. But the question I fail to get an answer for is the drivers seat in the H3 the same height as in the X3? Not relative to the living space but above the ground?

      I'm not sure I understand the question. From the outside ground to the bottom of the seat, yes the X3 is higher than the H models. Does that help?

    Front suspension. X models, have independent suspension, H model is a solid axle So, an X will ride and handle better, but will require more maintenance than an H 🤫

    Mr. Guru...Do you keep your coach in a commercial garage? I have been looking for a storage unit in the Virginia Beach area and cannot find a garage that is big enough to store a 45 foot buss. Any suggestion?

      With the burst of sales across the board in the motorhome industry, finding secure, covered storage with 50amp power is not an easy task. I'm not familiar with your area, but it took some pounding of the pavement and a lot of driving around to find my storage facility. Start by using the phone and calling around and if you're told no, ask for recommendations. Even if you're told they are booked up, visit them in person as that will give you the ability to meet face to face and you may learn when they will have openings. Also, check with smaller, private airports as some of them have the ability to lease airplane hangers.

    They ALL need CDL certs to drive these things! ( I know they legally don't), BUT these things are KILLERS on the road when driven by drivers with no experience!

      Why there is no mandatory training required for a new RV owner is beyond my comprehension. I've had salespeople tell me (and others) they are easy to drive...just swing wide and plan for longer distances to stop. I absolutely agree that a new owner should not be allowed to drive a RV off the lot without taking a class that teaches the basics of driving a motorhome. I have the opinion the RVIA has strong lobby that fights for the manufacturers and nobody is representing the consumer. The same holds true for lemon laws as the RVIA lobbies to protect the interest of the manufacturers over the consumer.

      You look at a big motercoach and you think it must be big and scary and hard to drive. But in reality, is it that much harder to drive? Are people without CDL certs statistically crashing them at a higher rate than not certified drivers? Is there real data backing up the contention that they are more dangerous without extra training, or is it just a feeling people are getting by seeing a big vehicle and thinking it must be hard and scary to drive?

      @@TheGrandmaster1 great point you make, most dealers in my experience will take a potential buyer on the road, and explain in detail what to do and what not to do, then they allow the potential buyer drive around on both streets and highways, until he or she feels comfortable, that's been my personal experience I've driven all sorts of motorhomes, new motorhomes.
      It definitely can be a bit intimidating, like anything else until you get comfortable with it

    Doesn't the blubird wanderlodge have the same chassis as a Prevost? How well do they hold there value?

      No, the Bird' had a Chassie built by Blue Bird that was specific to the coach that was built on it, same as a Newell is today. I am an owner of three Wanderlodges and they were great in every way. They are long gone theses days, but many excellent used examples can still be bought.

    I have a question for anyone who knows the answer. Do you need a CDL to drive a class A RV or coach?

      If you're driving it for recreational purposes, the answer will be determined by your home State. Each State has different laws and while there's reciprocity between States, the laws concerning the type of licensing differ.

      No you do not because it's listed as an RV. Some states require a upgraded licence depending on the weight of the coach but not a CDL. Here in Virginia as long as your licensed, registered and insured in VA a CDL is not needed and you are good to drive in any state in the union and Canada.       I don’t think Prevost does steerable tag axles. But I would guess they would tell you it’s not necessary.

    Drive a Newell with a true steering tag, one hundred more horse power, and a complete one level floor and you will forget about any Prevost in a hurry.

      I have driven both. Have some fun and drive a five year old Newell and a five year old Prevost back-to-back and you'll quickly learn about chassis integrity. If your experience is like mine, one will be squeaky and the other will be quiet. I'll look forward to your findings.

I drove a new X and a new Newell and no doubt the Newell was a better handling and easier to drive coach, and no squeaks, in fact very solid feeling but yes it was new. I am 67 years old and looking to buy my last bus, so if it can stay rattle free for ten years I'll be good. I will take your advice and drive some of the used Newell's that they have on their lot. Thanks for your reply.

There are positives to both chassis and the interview was viewed as a promotion for the X chassis and the positives for the H chassis were not conveyed. Watch the video again and see what you think.
