Carrie did this song justice. It is extremely challenging to sing this song given the pace the lyrics and range of notes as well as the depth of emotion. ETA: I initially thought she did a fine job. Now, 3 years later, her version has aged on me. I love it. She's awesome and so dang brave for even trying this song.

Love Linda's version - can't be beaten. She has a simply wonderful voice. Having said that, Carrie does a great job on this song. She too is very talented - and she sang this as a tribute to Linda - and a very admirable tribute it was.
Linda has the known attribute of belting her songs out and rocking our world, if you are someone who doesnt have that ability, you shouldnt take on that song knowing that you cant do it justice, its just a pre failure. it wasnt horrible but, i would never click on hearing her version again...ever.

There are other great singers, but there is nobody, not Aretha (please nobody say Whitney, ugh), not Kelly, not Celine, not Barbra, who had the hugeness and beauty combined in their voice. Aguilera comes the closest for size, but the warmth isn't there.

Carrie performed a very good rendition, this, said, it's always very hard to like a second version or cover, because our first love always refer to the original , our musical memory being imprinted quite deep, keeps coming back, and therefore ,reject newer version, In my case, this is what I feel . just my 2 cents.

Barbara Baer At the Kennedy Center Honors Linda was asked in an interview what she thought of Underwood. Her response “I was surprised to see Kevin Kline here”. Based on what she thinks is good singing I’m pretty sure she doesn’t like her anymore than I do. She’s a terrible singer. Period.
