I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this over the past 37 or 38 years. I never get tired of watching. To me this entire video was the greatest collection of Gospel Artist on one stage. I only wish I could have been in the audience!❤️
Same here , I have it on VHS , watching it at 7 yrs old with my lil brothers and lil cousins , I’m now in my early 40’s , I’ve always cried at the second song at 2:00 and till this day this song still makes me cry , tears or joys and gratefulness, it has better meaning than it did when I was lil, I had to go through some things to truly appreciate this song, I have come a mighty long way and still yet holding on , thank God for his mercy and patience

I have always loved the Hawkins family. They are absolutely wonderful and amazing! This is when gospel music was about nobody but God. I thank the Lord that we have this to reflect on cuz now ppl want others to see them. Back then ppl knew what gospel music was and what God had done for them. Thank you for this!

The Hawkins are a Class Act..the family and the choir they are so Untouchable in gospel music. You can't help but feel something even watching them perform and I swear everybody up on that stage can lead sing.😉
The Calfornia Gospel Singers of the 1970-1980's were so advance in their showmanship, sound, lyrics, writers, musicians, especially the choirs of that era out of the San Francisco bay.. the Helen Stephens & VOICES OF CHRIST; THE LOVE CENTER CHOIR, etc. THEIR WORK FOR THE LORD IS TIMELESS.
When we were kids my grandma use to leave the radio on while we were at church on Sunday. However, when we walked through my grandma's front door the song Until I Found the Lord seem to always be playing especially on the part where they sing I've Got the Victory. We came through the door and church started right back up because we would start shoutin like we had the Holy Ghost. And that's shoutin without the g. Good ole days.
I still have the AWE in my heart EVERY TIME I watch this segment from the film GOSPEL featuring the Hawkins Family. I never tire of hearing the smooth but powerful tones of Edwin, the soulful soprano melodies of Tramaine, the fabulous first tenor notes by Walter, and last but not least that ferocious GOSPEL GROWL by Baby Sis Lynette! I tried to learn everything the Hawkins family sang...my family group called the Freeway Angels would sing their songs on church programs... I miss Edwin and Walter Legends in their own time...giving all back to the creator.. Amen and Amen for a job well done.
A couple of years ago I heard A Kids Choir singing "Oh Happy Day" at The Grocery Store. It got to me that I had to leave because I knew if I stayed there any longer I would start bawling.
Every time I see this I get to go because when he takes the time to lose essay Lord have mercy he’s getting ready to go to work! Do you know your life is not gonna be the same every time he did it. The little things that you notice about someone that helps you to round the character when you’re writing a story. Shaking my head. Every single time and I mean it just hit me. Wow! I thank the Lord God so much for allowing me to enjoy the Hawkins family music for many years when I was younger. Every one of their songs were so inspirational to me as a young person in my twenties trying to find my way. I praise the name of Jesus Christ for gifting this family, and others that were a blessing to my spirit during difficult times. Thank you Lord Jesus!
