Wrapped in Plaid Shirt Card

- In this video I share how to make a card that folds into a short-sleeved shirt. This fold has been around for years. But the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper brought it back to mind for me. I paired this paper and this fold with the stamp set called A Good Man and created this card for one of the make-n-take projects I did with my demonstrator team three weeks ago.
You will find close-up photos, a list of the supplies I used, and written measurements I shared on my Saturday, November 9, 2019 blog post: wp.me/p9e8YC-dvA
Supplies I used for each card are also listed below and linked to my online store: www.stampinup.c...

Hi Rachel. I needed a swap card and Mens shirts were the theme. So thank you for sharing this one. It is so easy. I am watching this July 2024. Love your videos, you are very thorough in your explanations.
I just got back into scrap booking. This was so fun. Thank you and I shared.
Thanks JoOnni!
Love these cards, so much fun. I won't make 40 of them, but will do a number of them for Father's Day. Linda from Phoenix, it's warm and sunny here.
Like it when the plaids match up on the sleeves and collar! Great card for Father’s Day! Thanks!
Thanks Jane! Looks like you made this comment a month ago. But I"m just seeing it today. Sorry about that.
This was very intricate. You really have to pay attention. I saved it to watch over and over. I’m so glad you give measurements on the screen so we can take a picture.
🤗great cards for men, boys...anyone. Thank you for showing us how to do it!
Yes...for sure anyone! thanks!
I love this little card , so cute
Thanks Claudia!
Great to have found you ! We have a lot of uniform people in the family.....and this card will be a runner ! Thank you sooo much ,!
Genevieve frpm Switzerland !
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed what I shared.
Hi Rachel. Greetings from Davis, California. I love this fold. This is a popular fold in the origami world. I used to make a bunch of dollar origami shirts with the tie and when I go to casual restaurants with tip jars , I would leave a few of these in there for their tip. I know it's a pain to unfurl them but most of those guys have actually pinned them up for decorations. Now I have a great idea for Christmas banner. Thanks for sharing!
Yes...I'm an origami fan. I love paper folding. One year as a teacher my 5th grade class cranked out 1000 paper cranes. Glad you enjoyed my card. thanks for sharing!
Rachel...you are too fun...glad I found your channel! This is a great masculine card idea...very crafty!!!
Aww...thank you so much.
Laurie Bollig---I love these shirt cards! What a great card for the great men in our lives. Love your projects and videos.
Thanks so much Laurie!
Love this card! With so many men in my life this will be well used! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed this idea and will create some for yourself. Thanks Donnie.
I have not even opened my plaid paper - now I have to do that.
I knew I liked you - my favorite books series - Outlander! I have read then series many times and even listened to them on audio which I highly recommend because of all of the cool accents!
OH!! What a great idea! I'll have to get the audio version of the books after I get through the last one. thanks Nancy!
What a fun and easy card to make for our guys! Thanks for the tutorial!
Glad you like it Peggy. Thanks!
I learned to make shirt cards years ago using Hawaiian print paper! But we made the entire card out of the print with no white printer paper. I prefer your cards, plaid is a must-have in every wardrobe....even if it is a paper wardrobe😉!
It may have been easier with a whole large sheet of plaid. But this was a work around for the 6x6 size designer paper. Glad you liked it!
Forgot about this card fold! Great reminder for Christmas! Thank you!
Thanks Geri!
Tried to catch you live but missed it again..so thankful for TH-cam..I really enjoy watching you make cards!
Thank you Vicki! 😘
What a wonderful idea! Love it! 🤩
I can see all those happy Dads in the future! 👨🏼🦰🔭😉

Oh, I'm so glad these cards work for you and your guys. Thanks Yvonne!
WOW This is the best video I have seen on this shirt. Love how you used typing paper for the base instead of all dsp. And not having a crease down the middle as all the others has that I have seen. I definately will make this after seing your video. Thank you so much🥰
I’ve never watched the how to on the shirt fold. Love it..live those plaid papers. Thanks Rachel!
Yay! Thanks Kathlene!
Great card. Esp. For father's day

Perfect card idea for my husband’s birthday next weekend! From Northern California.
Yay! Glad you like this idea Marlene.
I’ve always wanted to make one of these cards. I’ve been card-making for two years now and have tons of supplies but need to learn a lot more about dimensional cards and making my cutter, properly cut the right size, I have three trimmers, one of them-is a guillotine cutter, I never ever get exact cuts, why, I don’t know. This card may be out of my league but I won’t know unless I try. Great demo. Hope your wrists start to feel better. I have RA in my hands so I totally understand. Tfs.
Those cutters aren't as exact...you are correct. Glad you enjoyed this video. And thank you for the well wishes. :)
I have seen this card made before but had totally forgotten about it, and I already have the DSP. Thank you for posting this adorable card,
Thanks Belinda! Have fun creating some shirt cards. 😊

Thank you Nina!
I am sorry I missed the live show...those shirt cards are so great. Years ago I found a post where you used money (one dollar, five dollar bill, etc) to use as a gift; of course, my grandchildren loved that idea...
Yes...I've seen dollar bills folded into shirts, too.
Rachel I work full-time and never could get you live! I love this shirt. I tried years back but your directions are so clear I’m going to give it a try. Thanks. Inky hugs Terry~~
Fantabulous! Thanks Terry. Hope you have success! (I'm positive you will.)
