Jay Rohr should get them better...he was a beast with Trent White and a pretty good defense in 2002...they ruined my Vikings perfect season, so we had to settle for 9-1 but a decent playoff run...I think because Jackson does so well in many other sports...the district doesn't make football the only sport to focus on

OHSAA expanded the playoffs an extra round during the 2020 covid season since the regular season was shortened to 6 weeks. They kept that playoff format since. Now 16 teams make the playoffs in a region instead of 8. Ignatius got in because of that but their schedule WAS the hardest in the state. Eds, Springfield, Toledo Central Catholic, Hoban, Moeller, Xavier.... All of them on Ignatius' schedule.

All five of those were classic matchups, with multiple players on the fiels who ended up playing in the NFL, late heroics like Mike Doss' game-saving tackle at the 1 up at Kent or the miracle deflection at the Rubber Bowl preserving their national #1 ranking... or the Bulldogs' goal line stand to win at Fawcett. Those five games were classics one and all with 12-15,000 in attendance. This... was not that. Nice win between two teams that are hardly shadows of what they once were. Unfortunate, but true.

Sad to see yes. We had a good crowd for Massillon like always and there were 23,000 at the McKinley-Massillon game a few years ago. When we don't beat Massillon, essentially no one shows up the following weeks for playoff games. Adults are failing these kids.

Is this really St. IGNATIUS and Canton Mckinnley??? When I was a boy these two teams were full of grown men. These teams look like pop Warner teams. How in the world did a 3-8 team make the playoffs???? Every thing in our great country is in decline.😅
McKinley is a team full of juniors . Only six starters from the offense and defense are seniors. Ignatius has clearly lost their recruiting edge to St Edwards and it will only get worse since Chuck Kyle has retired from ignatius. Ignatius made the playoffs at 2-8 because the OHSAA added in another round of football for the covid season and has not changed back. 16 teams make the playoffs in a region now instead of 8. ($$$$$) And as far as the grown men comment, the City's population has been in Decline for decades. Hence why school districts such as Plain Township or Jackson have seen an increase. Over the last few decades people have just simply moved out of the district. Size of the players vary from year to year. We've had two really tall quarterbacks the last decade and big offensive lines here and there .
