Cute projects and great tutorials BUT...........I have to agree with so many others and agree that "buying or finding a 'Michael" is the first thing you'll need. "Maybe", you can show some projects that truly are DIY so that those of us w/out Michaels, can learn cute and easy projects, because I LOVE YOUR STYLE, your room just looks so comfy and girly without looking "tacky" or too young. Thanks for taking so much time to be so informative with your tutorials and so easy to listen to! Keep those projects coming!
Pinkluvn That is the hard part, unless you're savvy with tools. Luckily I have a neighbor whose pretty handy and loves to do this sort of stuff as its his hobby.
Margaret Hall I made my own headboard without a Michael, I don't have a Michael or a Bob or anyone else and it took some work but I made it by myself. I wish I had a Michael too :-)
+Margaret Hall The first thing you need is to learn how to use power tools. It isn't particularly hard to run a jigsaw (and costs $20-30) or a drill ($30). You don't need a pneumatic stapler like in the video- you can get a heavy duty manual stapler inexpensively (sear's craftsman $25). There's nothing you really "need a Michael" for except just to have an occassional extra pair of hands - to applaud you or to make your dinner.
+Margaret Hall The great thing about power tools is that you don't need muscle strength to use them. No need for a Michael, or a Joe, or a Bob, etc. All you need is a little confidence and to remember to measure twice and cut once.
my husband and i recently purchased a wonderful victorian grand mansion in maine, and we are doing a great restoration! this is my project for our new grand bedroom, i am so excited, thank you for the wonderful inspiration!!! i will forward a photo when i am done, my mom is going to help, she is super crafty/creative like you are, you and my mom are lucky and blessed in this way!
Christine, this came out beautifully. I always wanted to try this project and never had the space to do it . Now that Im moving into a house this will definitely be something I will try . Great teamwork you two
I've been watching videos on how to do this literally for numerous YEARS, and this is by far the best video on the subject. The directions are by far the best, and the results and how it actually looks is ALSO the best to me, by far! Thank you and God bless you and your family.
I am LOVING your video tutorials! You articulate the steps clearly, leaving no confusion, and coordinate it nicely with the actual work being shown/done in the video. You are straight to the point, without endlessly droning on and on in some stream-of-consciousness soliloquy that plagues so many otherwise good tutorials on TH-cam. And your personality is pleasant - so many people think they're comedians or something, torturing the viewer with seriously annoying blathering that is anything but funny. While I'm not judging them as human beings or anything (live and let live, they're not harming me!), I find I cannot sit through their videos no matter how informative they are, because they're usually a half hour longer than they need to be, filled with nonsense. I hope I didn't sound too grumpy there lol. But yeah.... your video tutorials are excellent on all levels! Thanks for posting, this is beautiful! Peace.
This looks very pretty! 2 years ago, my husband made a beautiful tufted headboard for my daughter's room--it's tall and black. Her colors are black and turquoise. Like a tiffany blue. The room turned out gorgeous:)
I love this so much! I bought my daughter a bedroom set that included the tufted headboard and it was so expensive I don't even want to think about it! My husband is buying all the materials. We are making one for ourselves! Thanks so much for all your Tutorials. They are lovely!
I made my own headboard a few years ago but didn't do any tufting.. it still turned out great, but now I'm in need of a new one so I'm thrilled to see your tutorial here! It turned out beautifully.. I love the shape and the texture... it's super plush and luxurious! Thanks for sharing this :)
Wow, that's impressive! You and Michael are the couple to have with you if ever stranded on an island! You guys seem to be able to do it all! Hope you both have a wonderful New Year!
Christine, my husband and I arrived in Kona (big Island) yesterday and now I can definitely see why you moved to Hawaii. Coming from very cold Vienna we enjoy especially the warm and wonderful weather here. Happy New Year
I love this! I tried to convince my daughter to do this instead of spending money on a new bed (newlywed couple needing to fill their new place with furniture), but she just bought a new bed last week. However, I need a new bed and this is exactly what I wanted to do, but didn't know how. Thanks for the awesome video instructions!
Its GREAT to see someone DIY this! I've been making these every few years for ..years! lol.. Different designs..shapes..fabris obviously. etc (woodworking is a hobby of mine) This is a gorgeous one!
Christine that was the best tutorial ever, I have been wanting one of those head boards for ages but are so expensive. I might have a go at making my own- you have inspired me. Happy New Year. xoxo Nisha
Beautiful! I have had a DIY tufted headoard on my radar for several months now. We are looking to upgrade rom a queen to a king mattress next year. I have watched just about every tutorial out there...it was nice to watch another person go through the experience. FYI--scotch guard should help your headboard stay nice and white and wipe-able.
Definitely beyond my skill level - if I made this it would look like a hot mess - I have trouble cutting a straight line! I loved watching you make this and it turned out beautifully!
Your project turned out great! I have been wanting to do this and am not crafty and a little scared. I would like to try this now with my husband in the spring when the weather warms up after seeing this! Thank you for this video!
I just found your videos and I love them. Your right there are too many utube videos on makeup and not enough on organizing or interior design, Thank you!

OMG! I am thinking of doing something just like this. I can't decide if I want tufted or not, but love how yours came out. And yes, Walmart definitely has the foam cheaper. Excellent material choice too. Thanks so much for sharing. Big Hugs

I get so excited when I see u have posted a new vid. I'm all about diy, so I've been loving your builds for the new space! Downsizing is hard but really cleansing, I bet you are feeling great about your cleaner simpler space, again like I comment on all your videos, you are inspiring and motivating me as well as many other ppl! We are lucky to have handy men in our lives to help us brings visions to reality. Keep up the great work you two! :)
