IMO the TF41 was always one the best RTR remotes, but as you said, it had seen better days. I'm glad to see HPI went with their own design with some great additional features.
So many negative comments from so many people who haven't even seen the car in person. This car is essentially an e converted Hot Bodies D8T. I've had an e converted D8T since 2019 I bash with it on a regular basis and very seldom do I break things. I'm happy that this came out because I can finally replace the stock chassis the previous owner hacked up trying to do the E conversion. Also the diffs in this thing make the Arrma diffs look pathetic in comparison. My concerns are it should have used the same composite as Hot Bodies for the a arms, they should have included droop screws, the shock towers should be 5mm and the rear chassis brace should have been the one from the D8T and not the Vorza buggy.....

If I bought an HPI and spent HPI kind kind of money. I'd be mad if I opened the box, looked at my shocks and started wondering what I can swap them out for. Everyone who buys a high powered car with a deans connector should all mail their deans connector back to the manufacturer.

I've been a fan of hpi for years and I'm glad to see them coming back. I have the original Vorza and several others that I'd think would be considered classics.all have the old remote, I got along with it but I like that they finally came up with a new style. Hopefully they'll put those in the new Savage X lineup !
To this day the best, most fun and most durable RC I have ever owned was my original Savage 25! Over 12 gallons of 30% Byrons through the original engine before it finally got tired. In all of those gallons it only ever needed 1 brake disk, 1 rebuild on the rear diff and a steering servo lol. I did not take it easy on it either. It started and ran so nice it's entire life. A friend still has it and is about to get it going again after all these years! I am really tempted to grab a new flux or maybe even nitro again. Haven't run nitro in years now.
Did you get the castle motor I wanted it but brought it n bloody hobbywing not as much torque. Same gear upgrade did 127kph with castle now only 111 grr
Beautiful design. Regarding the suspension though, I wonder how much travel the arms have when you rise the ride height. It looks like there is not much down travel left. About the front body pins, maybe you can bend them a little so that you can grab it more easy.
I think the cut out in the chassis brace is for easier motor removal, so you can slide it out once the clamps are loosened only. I really like this truggy though and been getting bored of the Talion lately..
I'll tell you Vas you really are one of a kind with the videos and info you provide and we're lucky to have you and that's the truth. It will be a sad day if you ever decide to stop doing them. I'd really like to get alot of guys on the forums and on here to all contact and reach out to Arrma and speak our mind and tell them what we think about you not getting arrmas anymore and how many trucks you've sold that company! Me included! I remember watching your kraton (v2??) VS 6s outcast V1 comparison as I believe I watched that video 10 times before I went with the 6s kraton (first 6s truck) and I'm like at 7 arrmas later from that! I remember being blown away opening it and being in Awe of how big it was in person and what a beast with all the metal components!! I felt like I finally arrived in the hobby after having a few 3s-4s trucks (granite 3s, cheetah and Maximus) I just feel it makes perfect business sense to both parties and shouldn't let a disagreement/ back and forth were I'm sure both you guys would do certain things over again but in the end shouldn't let that come between a pretty great relationship/business deal for that worked great for both parties. I'm gonna try to reach out to them and say pretty much the same thing to them and how alot of us Arrma fans don't appreciate you not being supported for someone who has done so much for them and brought so many of us to love their brand. You've been a long time supporter of what I do for years and don't think for a second that goes unnoticed. 🤜🤛 I don't think ARRMA are the ones that need convincing in supporting me, it's most likely going to be someone at Horizon. It was after Horizon took over ARRMA that my relationship with ARRMA began to crack, so I think it's someone there that doesn't see the value I bring, doesn't want it or simply can't be bothered delaying with a TH-camr on the other side of the planet in one of their smallest market share locations when they're spoiled for choice with creators much closer to home. If you notice, how ARRMA promote their products has changed quite a lot and it's gone from being community based to a more commercialized approach. Even their HOF photos have gone from fans simply taking pics with their phones to guys using professional cameras and doing a heap of Photoshop work to attract attention. Simply put, it's not the same company I once promoted and helped gain the attention & popularity they now have and although I'd still like to be a part of it, my style with info driven videos and my honesty may not be what they want or need anymore. But please, don't let me stop you from contacting them, you never know when the right person will read the email and start asking questions. It's been a long time since we split from a 5yr long relationship with ARRMA, so who knows if it's all water under the bridge or if they're still upset and simply don't want or need my content. 🤷♂️

The thing that pisses me off and I know it has to piss you off as well is when they send new rcs to certain channels who deep down doesn't care about the product as you, me and others do and you have been a day one guy who really helped with their success, growth and improvements over the years but what some of those channels don't have is the respect of all, amateur weekend warriors looking to just have fun and the die hards in this close knit community. But if they decide (horizon & arrma) to just ignore me at least it won't be because of lack of effort. It's Race RTR. Most of the car is the D8T which is a competition Truggy. The suspension setup is very race orientated, same as Tessmanns D8T. It's comparable in every way to the Vorza HP buggy which was also a D8 Race RTR. If you try and do massive hard landings you'll kill it very quickly. It's clearly not what it was designed for.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well, I think this is more of a race truggy than a basher, however, the way it's advertised suggests it's aimed for bashing, but maybe I'm reading that wrong...
@@AussieRCPlayground It is more of a medium duty basher, it will handle bashing and some medium sized jumps but I wouldn't try to do any sort of RIchduperbash type of jumping with it.

My issue is wheels and tyres I have worn them out and don't know what to put other than the standard items. Can you help with a selection of brands and sizes to suit the vorza s please 🙏
Couldn’t quite tell, but if your toe blocks are plastic, contact your HPI distributor and they’ll send you the 7075 aluminum ones. There have been a few Vorza S missbuilds.
Great unboxing video ,thanks . I see your concerns about some of the build and agree ,I suspect a banana frame is on the cards especially at the back . Do shock extension clips still exist ? ( fit between spring and adjuster nut ) might help but at this price point shouldn’t be required. That said it’s a nice looking car and I hope it performs well.
HPI must have used a different plastic for those a arms than Hot Bodies did with the D8T as the D8T a arms do not flex like that. It's the same rear chassis brace from the Vorza buggy, that notch is for the motor mount. And the wing mount is stronger than the Arrma one.
I suppose that the first upgrade that should be made - longer shoks. That's cheap, and that's good. But all the way, really interesting car. Hope would be durable
Here in Spain it costs €800, practically the same as a Sledge €820, somewhat more expensive than the Talion EXB which is €750 and much more expensive than the Kraton V5 €650 or the Kronos €580. It seems to me a very high price for the quality it offers in principle. We'll see if it's good when you try it. A greeting from Spain
Hmm can we find out if the hpi trophy parts fit this....the arms look the same and the original votza parts fir the trophy buggy, would be nice if these parts fit the trophy truggy too....
As far as the spring in the radio, i pulled my slt3 radio for my v5 notorious apart and replaced the spring with a stronger spring wich now is a much nicer feel with the steering. Hpi is one of my favorite rc brands and it is nice to see that they have came out with this 6s platform, body shell looks good, i had a look at the new vorza range and i honestly think that hpi has overpriced the 6s range. $995 - $1185 for the car in this video is very expensive from the 4s hpi trophy truggy flux brushless rc at around $700 - $750. I also noticed that the standard version has a lot of composite parts wich compared to the trophy truggy flux brushless has a lot of alloy in wich i think that Hpi should have stuck with the same alloy parts out of the box. Droop screws are a must, seems that Hpi is cost cutting wich to me is very disappointing for the price. On this one i hope that they bring out a v2 version of the 6s vorza range with alloy parts on all of the range and takes note of your opinion. Nice detailed review Vas, i would like to see a review of the cheaper version with composite parts. Nice work bud
Nice car but... its always something we would made different. I just bought a used HPI Trophy 4.6 Truggy for about 550 AUD (started but never driven), and another used "spare parts car" for 375 AUD. I like the HPI Trophy Truggy and Buggy cars, even if they are 10+ years old. Easy to work on, can take some bashing and still spare parts available.
Looks nice but looks pretty weak overall and WAY too overpriced 😮traxxas sledge is only 775$ here in the US,and it’s built much tougher in my opinion… but thanks for the review as always 👍🏻
I'm hoping to maybe do something in nitro in the future, but not sure what car it will be. I haven't toyed with a nitro car in well over 20yrs, so it'll be a steep learning curve for sure, but hopefully not a painful one. 😁
Wonder if the motor mount is going to shift when it tumbles or crashes, I know the Sledge suffers from this. Also want to see how the tabs under the screws hold up. Razor RC had his bend on the Sledge. C'mon HPI, Deans on a 6S? That price also, that is super expensive. I would expect better parts for that price.
Nice looking car Vas and another brilliant review. Very fair too as your wish list is spot on. I'm probably spoilt by running a few Arrma RC's but I feel that motor mount is going to shred pinions and spurs. Would have loved to see the 1 piece slider with the centre diff and motor all in one mounting. One of the biggest complaints on the T brand Sledge was the mount shifting slightly and shredding gears. Annoying. Dear God, not Deans connectors.. it's 2022!! 😩 Thing is if you changed the connectors yourself you void the warranty on the ESC is that correct? The droop on the suspension is a worry, it's like you've lost 20mm of useful travel just because of the wrong springs/shocks being used. Just doesn't look right, As a basher.. As a race truggy and with all the other stuff like braces and shock towers not being as burly as say a Krayton.. I think it's setup more for racing. in that case all bets are off and it may well be a lovely racer. I'm hopeful it's a great car and it well could be, I really hope so. For similar $$ there's some very solid proven performers in the market right now.
Not a fan of that type of motor mount, you only have to look at the problems you can get with the Sledge with this type mount. Where the mount can shift & mess gears up & also where the 4 mounting screws are recessed into the under side of the chassis. Chassis is so thin where these screws are recessed in, the chassis can distort in this area with hard hits & motor mount moves. They should also have gone with a tower to tower brace, even though they have a 7075 chassis i think that will bend with harder hits.
😃 hey I just recall my first HPI vorza had a lot to adjust shock towers leaking oil, dog bones snapping sometimes, you need to check the radio safe failure otherwise it will cause a serious issue, they don’t come up with this by default I had to do it manually, the car never goes straight unless you adjust each tire balance separately, and finally the metal gear catches lots of dust and is unprotected and I got mine snapping due to rust despite of the fact that I never drove over water but humid weather would cause this especially here in UAE, and that ESC is a good one and was perfect up to 4S, drive experience is awesome with great speed makes a big smile on your face. It’s been 7 years since I sold my old vorza.
Hpi bullet Build a lovely looking car for once its a shame about the shocks and body clips to low in the body. Can it go faster like it says on the box 65mph or not. But part from that it looking good great video once again mate 👍👌
Have to be honest I like it overall but 2 things worry me wing Mount and front 3 mill shaft but we will see also that motor mount looks a lot like Traxxas sledge failed mount pulled on chassis and cause problem with gears
That wing mount is stronger than the Arrma one, I've killed 4 wings and only one wing mount in the past 3 years. I went through 4 wing mounts on my Arrma in the first year I owned it. The front of the chassis is supported very well and there won't be any flex so no need for a 4mm drive shaft.
why does everyone hate on deans???? i havent personally ever had a problem even on a single 6s deans plug, am i just not pulling enough current to make it noticable
$1150!! Jesus Christ that is a LOT of money and it's DEFINITELY not worth it. I thought it'd be more like £400 tops in my eyes. I recon I've got 4-5 electric's (which I've built and never used) and 1 nitro which is a Savage X 4.6 and I absolutely LOVE it! What I do with my body pin's is stick a small cable tie through so it's really easy to pull off and yes. I know it doesn't look very stream lined. But I'm more about the practicality side of things than the looks. As I class it more of a tool, that anything else. Even though it's a toy
That thing is an armed robbery. $200+ more expensive that the red one and it offers just a few extra and minor details! Overall both versions are insanely overpriced and come with nothing special. The transmitter... Looks awfully cheap for the price , chunky and ugly, doesn't even has the steering wheel at an angle, but you can swap it to the other side I give them that as a cool feature. After plenty of reviews, videos and closer looks at the couple of Vorzas they got at my local hobby shop, I preordered a Kyosho MP10Te, designed by Yuichi Kanai himself and made in Tokyo, Japan. That's actual quality at reasobable price. Thanks for the video, sir, good review and info on the model.
The Vorza and parts for the Vorza have been readily available for well over a year now. Hobby Recreation Products is the official US distributor for HPI they have basically everything. Jenny's rc and Dollar Hobbyz both have take off parts as well.
I'm from the Caribbean team corally is the cheaper option for me the muraco is $479.99 USD right now I'm not gonna lie the vorza is beautiful but having to make so much adjustments out of the box I rather the Team Corally
Those cost $1656 here in New Zealand 🇳🇿, I'd rather buy an Arrma outcast, notorious, kraton or talion. And save a little bit of money. It definitely looks decent though, but for the price no! I'm going arrma

HPI has been through a lot over the last few years and this is their first "new" release in a very long time, so I'd cut them some slack this time around. Can't expect their first version of this car to be perfect, right?! I mean, I don't know of any RC company that's managed to release an RC without flaws or even the odd mistake. At least HPI are doing the right thing and sending out the missing parts to customers free of charge (and that includes me as well). 🙂
It's hit and miss with every brand it seems, I was told HPI is great for the track if you don't do serious bashing. I had it out 4 times at a dirt track and started to have issues with the servo, next run the ESC started to over heat. I get a new servo and ESC installed then two runs later the transmitter goes out, tried 3 sets of batteries and it won't do anything. I sold it the next week and was upfront about the issues I had.
Sounds like the car was fine, it was the electrics you had an issue with. If the car handled well and didn't break I would've kept it. Electric failures are not something you want, but HPI has a very strong 2 year warranty and I'm sure it would've been sorted for you. 😉
I can assure you that this is far from a budget rig. Look up Ty Tessman Hot Bodies D8T. This is more or less an electric ready to run version of that. The Hot Bodies D8T is a tank I've owned an e converted one since 2019 and it breaks less than my Arrmas do.
@@slick2500 the company split years ago 🤦. Old HPi cars were leading edge, good value and very well made and Hot Bodies was mostly the race division although this got a bit blurred with race cars coming out under both names.

An old losi 8e 2.0 is still a better rig, but I do like the way this rig seems to drive. It seems well balanced. But its just another truggified buggy. Seems to be the dominant design for basher at the moment.
Confusing comment.... Truggies ARE truggified buggies, that's how they got their name. An old Losi might be better in some ways, but parts support for Losi's old cars is almost non-existent and that would put a lot of people off, so not sure many would choose an old Losi over a current car.
That's fair enough, but the X-Maxx is $1880 here and it's not classed as 1/5, at best it's a 1/6 scale. It's also a totally different style of vehicle with a different application in mind, so I doubt anyone here would choose an X-Maxx over a truggy if they're looking for a truggy in the first place.
I don't believe that there is enough there to justify the price at all the hpi bage is not it I can get a full race kit for that price from kyosho or losi epic fail do to price point
My car flew with the deans plugs. But omg when i changed to Castle 200 amp plug, jesus, i got 20% more power i think. Deans only allow 50amps only ok for tiny 2s.

The Vorza shocks are great! Just get some heavier springs
I had the original Vorza back in 2016 and they are very durable cars ...hpi did a great job with the aluminum to plastic balance.

It's Race RTR. Most of the car is the D8T which is a competition Truggy. The suspension setup is very race orientated, same as Tessmanns D8T.
It's comparable in every way to the Vorza HP buggy which was also a D8 Race RTR.
If you try and do massive hard landings you'll kill it very quickly. It's clearly not what it was designed for.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well, I think this is more of a race truggy than a basher, however, the way it's advertised suggests it's aimed for bashing, but maybe I'm reading that wrong...

No, there's no screws in the parts bag.
@@AussieRCPlayground It is more of a medium duty basher, it will handle bashing and some medium sized jumps but I wouldn't try to do any sort of RIchduperbash type of jumping with it.
The original vorza was tough n handled big jumps. Not many cars ran 6s when this car came out.

My issue is wheels and tyres I have worn them out and don't know what to put other than the standard items. Can you help with a selection of brands and sizes to suit the vorza s please 🙏
What’s happening with the chassis brace is it’s carryover from the buggy version. That cutout looking bit is so that it clears the motor mount.

Couldn’t quite tell, but if your toe blocks are plastic, contact your HPI distributor and they’ll send you the 7075 aluminum ones. There have been a few Vorza S missbuilds.

The natural slope forward on that rtr suggests there is something wrong with front ride height. I'll stick with the talion thanks
Great unboxing video ,thanks . I see your concerns about some of the build and agree ,I suspect a banana frame is on the cards especially at the back . Do shock extension clips still exist ? ( fit between spring and adjuster nut ) might help but at this price point shouldn’t be required. That said it’s a nice looking car and I hope it performs well.
I'm hoping so as well, it would make some of my concerns obsolete if the car holds up during a decent bash session. 🙂

HPI must have used a different plastic for those a arms than Hot Bodies did with the D8T as the D8T a arms do not flex like that. It's the same rear chassis brace from the Vorza buggy, that notch is for the motor mount. And the wing mount is stronger than the Arrma one.

Whats more durable out of the box. This Vorza S flux or the HPI Savage x XL Flux V2 ? Or any of the kraton 6s im torn between them.
I suppose that the first upgrade that should be made - longer shoks. That's cheap, and that's good. But all the way, really interesting car. Hope would be durable
Here in Spain it costs €800, practically the same as a Sledge €820, somewhat more expensive than the Talion EXB which is €750 and much more expensive than the Kraton V5 €650 or the Kronos €580. It seems to me a very high price for the quality it offers in principle. We'll see if it's good when you try it. A greeting from Spain

Hmm can we find out if the hpi trophy parts fit this....the arms look the same and the original votza parts fir the trophy buggy, would be nice if these parts fit the trophy truggy too....
As far as the spring in the radio, i pulled my slt3 radio for my v5 notorious apart and replaced the spring with a stronger spring wich now is a much nicer feel with the steering. Hpi is one of my favorite rc brands and it is nice to see that they have came out with this 6s platform, body shell looks good, i had a look at the new vorza range and i honestly think that hpi has overpriced the 6s range. $995 - $1185 for the car in this video is very expensive from the 4s hpi trophy truggy flux brushless rc at around $700 - $750. I also noticed that the standard version has a lot of composite parts wich compared to the trophy truggy flux brushless has a lot of alloy in wich i think that Hpi should have stuck with the same alloy parts out of the box. Droop screws are a must, seems that Hpi is cost cutting wich to me is very disappointing for the price. On this one i hope that they bring out a v2 version of the 6s vorza range with alloy parts on all of the range and takes note of your opinion.

Nice car but... its always something we would made different. I just bought a used HPI Trophy 4.6 Truggy for about 550 AUD (started but never driven), and another used "spare parts car" for 375 AUD. I like the HPI Trophy Truggy and Buggy cars, even if they are 10+ years old. Easy to work on, can take some bashing and still spare parts available.
Looks nice but looks pretty weak overall and WAY too overpriced 😮traxxas sledge is only 775$ here in the US,and it’s built much tougher in my opinion… but thanks for the review as always 👍🏻

I'm hoping to maybe do something in nitro in the future, but not sure what car it will be. I haven't toyed with a nitro car in well over 20yrs, so it'll be a steep learning curve for sure, but hopefully not a painful one. 😁
Wonder if the motor mount is going to shift when it tumbles or crashes, I know the Sledge suffers from this. Also want to see how the tabs under the screws hold up. Razor RC had his bend on the Sledge.
C'mon HPI, Deans on a 6S? That price also, that is super expensive. I would expect better parts for that price.

I'm probably spoilt by running a few Arrma RC's but I feel that motor mount is going to shred pinions and spurs. Would have loved to see the 1 piece slider with the centre diff and motor all in one mounting. One of the biggest complaints on the T brand Sledge was the mount shifting slightly and shredding gears. Annoying.
Dear God, not Deans connectors.. it's 2022!! 😩 Thing is if you changed the connectors yourself you void the warranty on the ESC is that correct?
The droop on the suspension is a worry, it's like you've lost 20mm of useful travel just because of the wrong springs/shocks being used. Just doesn't look right, As a basher..
As a race truggy and with all the other stuff like braces and shock towers not being as burly as say a Krayton.. I think it's setup more for racing. in that case all bets are off and it may well be a lovely racer.
I'm hopeful it's a great car and it well could be, I really hope so.
For similar $$ there's some very solid proven performers in the market right now.
Not a fan of that type of motor mount, you only have to look at the problems you can get with the Sledge with this type mount. Where the mount can shift & mess gears up & also where the 4 mounting screws are recessed into the under side of the chassis. Chassis is so thin where these screws are recessed in, the chassis can distort in this area with hard hits & motor mount moves. They should also have gone with a tower to tower brace, even though they have a 7075 chassis i think that will bend with harder hits.
Essentially a rtr version of the original hot bodies d8t

😃 hey I just recall my first HPI vorza had a lot to adjust shock towers leaking oil, dog bones snapping sometimes, you need to check the radio safe failure otherwise it will cause a serious issue, they don’t come up with this by default I had to do it manually, the car never goes straight unless you adjust each tire balance separately, and finally the metal gear catches lots of dust and is unprotected and I got mine snapping due to rust despite of the fact that I never drove over water but humid weather would cause this especially here in UAE, and that ESC is a good one and was perfect up to 4S, drive experience is awesome with great speed makes a big smile on your face. It’s been 7 years since I sold my old vorza.

Have to be honest I like it overall but 2 things worry me wing Mount and front 3 mill shaft but we will see also that motor mount looks a lot like Traxxas sledge failed mount pulled on chassis and cause problem with gears
That wing mount is stronger than the Arrma one, I've killed 4 wings and only one wing mount in the past 3 years. I went through 4 wing mounts on my Arrma in the first year I owned it. The front of the chassis is supported very well and there won't be any flex so no need for a 4mm drive shaft.
why does everyone hate on deans???? i havent personally ever had a problem even on a single 6s deans plug, am i just not pulling enough current to make it noticable

I recon I've got 4-5 electric's (which I've built and never used) and 1 nitro which is a Savage X 4.6 and I absolutely LOVE it!
What I do with my body pin's is stick a small cable tie through so it's really easy to pull off and yes. I know it doesn't look very stream lined. But I'm more about the practicality side of things than the looks. As I class it more of a tool, that anything else. Even though it's a toy

That thing is an armed robbery. $200+ more expensive that the red one and it offers just a few extra and minor details! Overall both versions are insanely overpriced and come with nothing special. The transmitter... Looks awfully cheap for the price , chunky and ugly, doesn't even has the steering wheel at an angle, but you can swap it to the other side I give them that as a cool feature.
After plenty of reviews, videos and closer looks at the couple of Vorzas they got at my local hobby shop, I preordered a Kyosho MP10Te, designed by Yuichi Kanai himself and made in Tokyo, Japan. That's actual quality at reasobable price. Thanks for the video, sir, good review and info on the model.

The Vorza and parts for the Vorza have been readily available for well over a year now. Hobby Recreation Products is the official US distributor for HPI they have basically everything. Jenny's rc and Dollar Hobbyz both have take off parts as well.
I'm from the Caribbean team corally is the cheaper option for me the muraco is $479.99 USD right now
I'm not gonna lie the vorza is beautiful but having to make so much adjustments out of the box I rather the Team Corally

HPI has been through a lot over the last few years and this is their first "new" release in a very long time, so I'd cut them some slack this time around. Can't expect their first version of this car to be perfect, right?! I mean, I don't know of any RC company that's managed to release an RC without flaws or even the odd mistake. At least HPI are doing the right thing and sending out the missing parts to customers free of charge (and that includes me as well). 🙂
What is HPI thinking there is no skid protectors or body pin savers on the body WTH ??? They need to catch up with the other RC companies !!!!
It's hit and miss with every brand it seems, I was told HPI is great for the track if you don't do serious bashing. I had it out 4 times at a dirt track and started to have issues with the servo, next run the ESC started to over heat. I get a new servo and ESC installed then two runs later the transmitter goes out, tried 3 sets of batteries and it won't do anything. I sold it the next week and was upfront about the issues I had.
Sounds like the car was fine, it was the electrics you had an issue with. If the car handled well and didn't break I would've kept it. Electric failures are not something you want, but HPI has a very strong 2 year warranty and I'm sure it would've been sorted for you. 😉

I can assure you that this is far from a budget rig. Look up Ty Tessman Hot Bodies D8T. This is more or less an electric ready to run version of that. The Hot Bodies D8T is a tank I've owned an e converted one since 2019 and it breaks less than my Arrmas do.
@@slick2500 the company split years ago 🤦. Old HPi cars were leading edge, good value and very well made and Hot Bodies was mostly the race division although this got a bit blurred with race cars coming out under both names.

I understand that, however, the way it's advertised suggests it's aimed at bashers. Even the tyres and wheels it comes with are more of a basher tyre than a racing one. So I'm sure you can understand why people would assume this car is a basher.

An old losi 8e 2.0 is still a better rig, but I do like the way this rig seems to drive. It seems well balanced. But its just another truggified buggy. Seems to be the dominant design for basher at the moment.
Confusing comment.... Truggies ARE truggified buggies, that's how they got their name. An old Losi might be better in some ways, but parts support for Losi's old cars is almost non-existent and that would put a lot of people off, so not sure many would choose an old Losi over a current car.

That's fair enough, but the X-Maxx is $1880 here and it's not classed as 1/5, at best it's a 1/6 scale. It's also a totally different style of vehicle with a different application in mind, so I doubt anyone here would choose an X-Maxx over a truggy if they're looking for a truggy in the first place.
Get some heavier springs
I don't believe that there is enough there to justify the price at all the hpi bage is not it I can get a full race kit for that price from kyosho or losi epic fail do to price point

But omg when i changed to Castle 200 amp plug, jesus, i got 20% more power i think.
Deans only allow 50amps only ok for tiny 2s.
