To me, class B+ is when they CUT off the rear of the existing body to do any add-ons such as a longer cap or a slide. Yes, Roadtrek for example, has a REAR slide on its class B so they've thrown me for a loop. Is it a class B when there's a rear slide?! I honestly don't know... LOL.
Please consider doing a regular series, perhaps once a week, where you teach something that you know about RVs. Not a live chat, but something along these lines. Make it predictable instead of occasional. Besides, it is a given that when you teach something, you necessarily learn it much better yourself. And also discuss the kind of scams and strategies to watch out for. Maybe that's even the hook for each of the once-a-week classes: you begin by teaching people about a particular RV scam or peril. Call the series something like "Matt's RV Master Class". And when you get bored, invite or interview any given expert you may know. Add factory tours, etc. And spread your shine that way. Building even more business allies. You have carefully built your particular brand around being honest, and not being purchased by the industry. So run with that credibility, since people give it to you. People who are entering the lifestyle, and have watched many of your videos, are also having to learn about RV life in general. Don't bleed out so many viewers like me to those who only talk about the RV lifestyle and how to operate the things. And merchandising is one thing, but for God's sake don't be tempted to sell out to a particular RV brand. That will kill your own carefully-curated brand at the first instance. And your next business venture ought to be running a business that has a network of pre-certified (by you, per your requirements) inspectors to make sure used purchases are solid. Run with that and I bet you'll make a ton of money. I would hire you for that, and I am making a purchase sometime in February. And what all of these suggestions have in common is building your brand around the concept of trustworthiness and honesty in an industry that lacks some of each. Video reviews, video classes, and certified inspections are all about protecting and educating the customer (and there is your brand concisely stated).
I think you have a ton of great insight that goes beyond likes and dislikes of models. You have a lot of general RV industry knowledge to share. Great video.
Love this video. My wife is always asking what the differences are between the classes and I’ve tried explaining it to her but the Super B stumped me so thank you.
One thing I love about Matt and you will find out if you just start watching these videos that he is 100% honest and he puts integrity before profit ! This is what keeps a company in good standing, it's not the products they sell ,you can get those anywhere, it's the dealership that sells it to you you're buying them not the product. I've retired after 30 years in the Motorsports business and I found that honesty is always the best way ! And that always gives you his honest opinion. That's why when I really want to learn something about these RVs and I am about to purchase soon ,I tune in to Matt
As an RV newbie this type of basic information is very helpful. More like this and 101's on waste systems, electrical & generators should be helpful. Just have these on addition to, not in place of, for usual reviews.
I have someone who's exploring getting an RV. I have hundreds of questions. What drew me to your channel originally was in your original concept you were going to do more of these type of videos. Whenever you do these type of videos, I'm all over them. I'm learning. I can learn and dream through the other videos, but I learned more when you answer questions. More like this please.
Good points 💯 I thought about switching up to something else, but the reason why I still love ✨️my Roadtrek Zion Class B is because I bought it used right BEFORE the pandemic + I paid waaay less. Plus, its my everyday driver and the only place I can't park it is in a parking garage.
I definitely like Q&A videos! Here's some topics: what's a stinky slinky? What's black vs gray water? What's city water vs potable (potable potable) water? What are the differences in amps? How much does a plastic toilet vs a porcelain toilet weigh and how much to swap to a porcelain one? What needs to be set up at a campsite? Can you drive with propane on? How do you switch between electricity, solar, propane, battery? P.S. I know some of these answers but others may not.
This type of video is so helpful as I try to learn more about the RV's. My husband and I THINK we know what we want, but as "we" learn the differences, we learn to make an informed choice. THANKS!
Yes, Matt, please do more of these. There is so much more to know about motorhomes than floorplans. Ex: RV fridge vs residential fridge; why solar may not deliver what people expect from solar, inverter or no inverter (also, why should you upgrade to larger inverter), questions like these... thanks for this video!
I have been watching your channel for the informative and unbiased reviews. This faq video brings the channel to another level. Totally awesome. Thanks
I really liked this video! I think that the reason your videos are so liked is you take a high level of expertise, present it in laymen’s terms, are concise, to the point, cheery, approachable, and not over the top. So it’s great seeing questions answered in the same fashion
Matt, educating people is the key and this video does just that. For the new folks getting into the RV market, or even old timers wanting to upgrade or update their RV, this information is a great tool when they go out to make a purchase. Love all your videos and planning on upgrading myself within the next year. That is why i watch each and every video you put out. Keep up the good work.
They have run out of Class B's at dealerships near me. They are just rebranding the C to try and sell. I bought my Class B 4 years ago for $78,000. I was offered 60,000 at the dealership last week. Do class A hold this much value?
Thanks Matt. I sometimes get confused between what is a 'B' and what is a 'C'. Your videos clears it all up for me. Look forward to more product videos and more Q&A videos
Great video! I'd like to see more of these since I'll be getting an RV when I retire in a year or two and need all the information I can get so I can decide what is best for me 😁
I absolutely like the Q&A videos. I am becoming interested in purchasing one. I need to learn more about RVs. So far I'll trust you and Andrea. Keep up the good work.
Good explanation, however I think once they have designed and created the templates producing multiples of the same unit should cut down on the price some. You asked for questions so here you go: Best roof for a motor home and why? Weight limit on ladders and roofs? Weight limit on slides? Best slide system and why? Safest RV's? Which RV makers use wood, aluminum or steel? Which RV manufactures have the best service after you buy?
I do appreciate the Q & A videos. Please keep doing them, among your other videos. I have an observation/pseudo-question. I recently drove through 7 western states helping my sister move, and we encountered lots of snowy, slippery, icy, foggy etc. weather, especially in the mountains along our route. We saw LOTS of RVs and travel trailers on the road, most of which were being driven or towed reasonably. There were definitely some newbies, however, struggling with their rigs in wind and slippery conditions. We saw the aftermath of several rig accidents, with rather alarming debris in the ditch beside the road -- the rigs were so smashed up they were only recognizable as RVs or travel trailers by spotting sinks or toilets in the debris (and in one case a brand-name hubcap) -- the rest looked like the contents of a construction dumpster. In the debris of one I spotted (as I drove past) a second-row seat with seatbelts, of the type commonly seen in videos showing the features of various RVs. Seeing that seat among such debris after an accident struck a nerve. In a tow vehicle pulling a trailer all passengers are (or should be) inside the tow vehicle, where they have more solid structure surrounding them plus airbags in many cases to help protect the occupants during an accident. I did not see evidence of such protection, however, in the debris of a crashed self-powered RV. Could you please do a video on the safety/protection of the various passenger seats of self-powered RVs? If an accident occurs and a rig rolls over into the ditch what will protect any passengers not in the front seats, especially if the boxes built onto the chassis weren't built by the automotive manufacturer?
Greetings Matt and Andrea. This is my first post, although I have seen approximately 10 of your videos. I ran across your first one by accident, but look at many now. This clears it up completely for my wife and I about RV classes. We will start looking for an RV to purchase early 2021 with expected purchase August/September 2021. I am so glad I ran across your videos.
I love this Matt the video of answering the questions of the Rvs the Class As Bs and Cs. It’s nice to know. I wanted to know the answer to that before but wasn’t sure how to ask it. Doing the Q&As is great to do. Great idea Matt. It helps us all out on the Rvs. And understanding. Thank you so much. Stay safe.
I really enjoyed watching this. Matt, you are chock-full of helpful information regarding RV's and we have yet to see your full potential. You're helping us to be able to make sense of what's currently happening in the RV sales/industry. We can't tell you how much we appreciate your efforts to show us new RV's but you're helping us see the "Bigger Picture" when it comes to owners and potential owners researching a future picture! Thank You so very much!
Thanks for the video. Glad to know I'm not the only one confused by the so-called B+. I have learned so much about RV's just from watching your videos so thank you again.
We think these question/answer videos are great. So, keep them up. We love the reviews, they are geared to people ready to buy or getting ready to buy and dreaming (like we are). One adder we would like to see is you putting your hands in the bathroom sinks to see how large (or small) they are. So many are tiny.
Great video! Thank you for educating us on the difference I had never heard of a B+. I noticed they charge more also because it's considered a B vs C Watch for that folks!
Matt, please more videos like this! This is awesome! We first entered the market decades ago with towables and they were great. Now as seniors retired we wanted a motorhome. Mercy, the marketing confusion that is out there. Keep these type of videos coming please. We are thrilled with our Winnebago navion oh yummy you haven't seen anything we would trade for it. But the research took months.
Yes! Really like the FAQ videos. The information you share helps to educate your viewers/subscribers. For us, it assist in making our next rig purchase an overall better one.
Thanks Matt. Explains alot. Would be great to hear about gas vs diesel and some idea of what kind of gas mileage you get with an A, B or C. Missed Andrea.
Great video. I really enjoyed how you broke it down. I would love to see more videos like this that goes in depth but still in terms that most people can understand. Thank you.
Simplify what Matt just said: B is a van conversion (van converted to an RV). B+ is an narrowed C, and is an C since built on cutaway van chassis. C is RV box built on a cutaway van. Super C is RV box built on heavy duty cutaway diesel pick-up truck chassis and semi truck chassis.
I love the Q and A format! It would be cool if you made a newer video about the “4 tiers” of Class A motorhomes, considering all the new products out there since the last video on that topic over a year ago
Love this type of video Matt, you made it very easy to understand the different types and price points of RVs..I would love to see more of these types of videos. Ideas for other videos Gas vs Diesel Construction techniques Roof materials Wet bay layout and how it works
Thank you Matt. I have been looking at your reviews along with going to the different websites and the one question I kept wondering about, you just answered. Really enjoy your reviews
Great video that clearly explained reality ignored by marketing. Reminds me of the “hard topped convertible” which was merely a two-door car in the late 1950s without a mid roof pillar. Today automakers call it a coupe. We owned a B Airstream Interstate and later a B+ LTV Unity, that as you pointed out, was really a C. Now we’re going back to a B.
Good job in explaining the differences. I Think a class c gives the most bang for the buck. Thats why i have one.Doing videos like this is great, especially for people who are new to the market. Thanks for all your awesome reviews. No one does a review like you and Andrea!
Thank you, thank you! I thought I had the ABC thing figured out, but learned more from you today. I need to see more of the FAQs, as I am planning on full timing it when we retire. Love the regular show, maybe you can slip in more nitty gritty or do a separate one like today more often. Short and sweet! Answering questions such as...can you not take a class A into state and national parks? I hear you and others eluding to that but never actually saying it. Thanks again, I tell everyone about you and Andrea and that they need to watch!
I had a B+ trail lite by rvision more room and wider then a B. On a Chevy chassis. Think lots of people were glad to see this. Yes I’m one of those that complain about price on B’s. Your paying for a lot of something you can’t see labor, but to build something four times bigger is a lot of labor to, but cheaper. Crazy ty
Excellent video! Very informative. I would love a kinda of R/V school. I swear Matt, you have forgotten more abouts R/V's than most people will ever know. Thanks again for the great video. God bless and stay safe.
I also love the Q & A videos. I'm a probie, I do not own a motorhome yet. I actually thought the Class C differentiation was the cab over. Thanks for setting me straight!
Bought a low mileage 2008 Holiday Rambler 235S with slide. Perfect for a couple (& our lab). 👍 wider than a B, narrower & shorter than a C. (sort of B+ish 😛) Full rear bath & kitchen. B, B+ or C - call it what you want, we love it.
Great video, thanks for explaining why the Class B are so expensive. I think another reason is competition in the segment along with supply and demand. As long as people are willing to pay the high price they won't come down in price.
Yes Matt do more videos like this. Can you do a video comparing the different classes (include Super C’s). The highlights and drawbacks of each class. Also gas v diesel.
Informative video Matt! Your videos are always great and I watch nearly every one. Here's my question: Why do all the new Class Cs have slide-outs? I understand why new RV buyers like them because it makes the interior seem more roomy. But realistically, they are very problematic and will become even more problematic over the years. When I was looking to buy a Class C, it was like looking for a unicorn to find one without a slide-out. (I finally found an older, very low mileage Born Free with no slide out.) The mobile RV tech who did some repairs on my furnace said that slide out problems are the majority of his income. The RV industry also seems focused on trying to provide sleeping for at least 6 people. Let me tell you after sleeping on a friend's dinette bed... they are incredibly uncomfortable. You and Andrea keep up the good work. Love you guys!
Hello Matt! Thank u so much for answering this question for me! I have always wondered and never knew. U explained it perfectly and I understood! These videos are great for someone like me, just getting Into the RV world. There are many more questions that I have that would make great videos for the beginner. I hope u give it some thought and start making videos for people like me. Blessings to u and your family. Stay safe and well!
I always wondered why Bush were so expensive. Thanks for the explanation. Keep the FAQ videos coming. I like how informative they are. Here's a question I have...what is the difference between all the different refrigerators?
Good video. I had the exact experience Matt talked about. My wife and I are transitioning from tent to RV camping and want to be able to continue to access the back country. I knew nothing about RVs but got totally enthused about the Winnebago Revel....until I actually saw one. It is way too small and way too expensive. We must have looked at 100 different varieties of class b/ class c coaches. The class bs are all too small and have a lot of extraneous stuff that takes up space; the class cs are roomy enough but in most cases too large or too fragile to go seriously off-road. We discovered the new Airstream Basecamp 20x travel trailer, which is pricey but not even in the same universe as the class bs and that, on paper at least, seems to solve the problem. We take delivery in March and will give it a real test next summer. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to go have a serious talk with Matt.
If I’m understanding this right....It’s big people who are building these units which reflects the big prices of owning a class B motor home as stated @ 5:36 min? Reminds me of the movie elf with Will Farrell. I’d suggest the makers of class B motorhomes hire elf’s’ (Fun size People) from Santa’s workshop during the off season. Bring those Little industrialist people over to class B manufactures. . This could help stabilize the class B market for sure, while lining Santa’s pockets. I’m sure Mrs Claus is all in, and ready to refurb her crib in the North Pole with the extra income.
I think you'd be doing the whole industry a favour by doing more of these FAQ videos, I'd watch.
His whole existence is doing the industry a favor.
Yup, I really enjoy the Q & A videos. I hope you do more of these.
Glad you made it clear that B+ is a more marketing term.
Those are definitely Class C RVs. True Class B+ RVs are sold on the Leisure Travel Vans channel
There is such a thing as Class B+
To me, class B+ is when they CUT off the rear of the existing body to do any add-ons such as a longer cap or a slide. Yes, Roadtrek for example, has a REAR slide on its class B so they've thrown me for a loop. Is it a class B when there's a rear slide?! I honestly don't know... LOL.
I really appreciate that Winnebago classified its EKKO as a class C even though it fits the "B+" profile. Honesty pays.
Whenever a friend asks me about motorhomes, I always send them to your channel. Thanks Matt.
I’d love to see more videos like this. This explained a lot to a novice like me. Thanks, Matt !
I like that you take the time to explain things instead of assuming we all know what these terms mean.
I think you have a ton of great insight that goes beyond likes and dislikes of models. You have a lot of general RV industry knowledge to share. Great video.
Yes, do more! would love to get your thoughts on gas vs. diesel.
Love this video. My wife is always asking what the differences are between the classes and I’ve tried explaining it to her but the Super B stumped me so thank you.
That makes way more sense now. Just bought a used Newmar Dutch Star (class A diesel pusher). Looking forwards to the gas vs diesel video!
One thing I love about Matt and you will find out if you just start watching these videos that he is 100% honest and he puts integrity before profit ! This is what keeps a company in good standing, it's not the products they sell ,you can get those anywhere, it's the dealership that sells it to you you're buying them not the product. YES! can you do more like this? I'd like to learn more about RVs and understanding more of the tech stuff. Also why is it called a 5th wheel??
These videos are MOST helpful. In the forums and FB groups it seems that there is a serious lack of knowledge on the consumers’ part.
This should be an once a month video like this where you go in to detail answer
I have someone who's exploring getting an RV. I have hundreds of questions. What drew me to your channel originally was in your original concept you were going to do more of these type of videos. Thank you for explaining the cost of a class B.
Thanks. I had actually been wondering what the classes were.
Thank you for clearly explaining the differences of the 3 motor home classes. Your videos are always very informative!
This type of video is so helpful as I try to learn more about the RV's. My husband and I THINK we know what we want, but as "we" learn the differences, we learn to make an informed choice. THANKS!

I appreciate the education. Seeing the normal review let’s me figure out things but it is far better to learn from an expert. THANKS
Thanks Matt. I sometimes get confused between what is a 'B' and what is a 'C'. Your videos clears it all up for me. Look forward to more product videos and more Q&A videos
This was very informative. I’d love to see more videos like this with honest and complete information. Thank you!

Stay safe.
Love this video. Please do more FAQs.
Matt. Would love more little videos like this, great educational series !!
This is great explanation and good info for those who are just beginning to research the whole RV thing.
Cheers

Thanks for the video. Glad to know I'm not the only one confused by the so-called B+. I have learned so much about RV's just from watching your videos so thank you again.
We think these question/answer videos are great. So, keep them up.

Great video!

Yes! Really like the FAQ videos. The information you share helps to educate your viewers/subscribers. For us, it assist in making our next rig purchase an overall better one.
Love the FAQ’s videos. Many times other people ask great questions I haven’t thought about.
Explanations from a trusted salesman are appreciated. Thank you.
"Then you have Class B"... While showing a C (B+).
Very good info. Thank you Matt ! Looking forward to your next one!
Any and all informational videos are worth their weight in gold, especially for future RVers that can't make up their mind what to invest in.
Very helpful. You have a real talent for explaining things. I will show this to my husband.

As always, a great presentation. This is good to have, and it was short and to the point. Best, Deb & Steve from Western Mass.
Even though I knew about the “B+” argument, thanks so much for this very informative video for those still learning! ❤️
Good job in explaining the differences. I Think a class c gives the most bang for the buck. Thats why i have one.Doing videos like this is great, especially for people who are new to the market. Thanks for all your awesome reviews. No one does a review like you and Andrea!
Information videos are educational and that’s always appreciated! Keep ‘em coming, Matt!
Thanks for the Video, this was really enjoyable and I would like to see more like them..
Crazy ty
Interesting, never thought of it that way.
Great video explaining differences of A,B,C. Looking forward to hearing about gas vs diesel😎
I do enjoy a variation of topics. I didn't know about how they categorized motorhomes. Thanks for explaining.
Thanks Matt, enjoy the Q&A's. My wife and I have a clearer definition of A,B & C's. Keep'em coming.
I love learning about RVs and I'd especially like to hear your opinions on things RV related. I've learned so much from watching your channel.
Very informative thanks, keep them coming!!!! Happy Holidays to U and Yours!!!
Thank you for taking your time to do this video. It makes complete sense why the “b” is so expensive. Keep up the good work.
Great video, thanks for explaining why the Class B are so expensive. I think another reason is competition in the segment along with supply and demand. As long as people are willing to pay the high price they won't come down in price.
Loved your informative video. I’d be thrilled if you made more. Suggested topic: towing trailer campers and preventing swaying and fish-tailing.
This was brilliant! Really great job explaining an unnecessarily complex issue. I would welcome more instructional videos for sure!
I really enjoy the FAQ, look forward to seeing another one!
I always wondered why Bush were so expensive. Thanks for the explanation. Keep the FAQ videos coming. I like how informative they are. Here's a question I have...what is the difference between all the different refrigerators?
Helpful video.I guess the analogy you’re looking for is that building a Class B is like building a ship in a bottle vs. the other classes..
Yes, enjoyed your FAQ video. The length of time was short and to the point!
