You should have complained about the delivery agent. I work in amazon as a customer support executive and i know how strictly we take actions against this kind of delivery agents. This was a completely unfortunate case. Amazon never support this type of behavior. Being an amazon employee i felt bad and like to apologize for the inconvenience.
Happened to me from Flipkart. The delivery guy bought 2 more persons. Whom he brought to sell it directly, so he just started picking nonsensical problems which were not there, and gave wrong inputs in the check list. And asked me to give extra money or cancel it. What his intentions were to get the phone at as cheap as possible and cancel the exchange and sell it to someone at good price and get some money. I understood what he actually wanted so I just cancelled and ordered again. The next guy was honest and came alone and took the phone without any issue. Do not, I repeat do not get into their traps.
I had this experience just yesterday, when I tried searching for amazon mobile exchange scam I stumbled upon this video. I can relate to every word you have said. The delivery guy who came for the exchange seemed suspicious from the time he came. He even went ahead and took the otp for delivery and was trying to get away when I stopped him and told him he cannot move unless I have spoken to Amazon. I am going to take this up with amazon today and ensure that they take strict action and stop fooling customers. I am from Mumbai btw.

It had exchange item for Redmi 5A phone which had a exchange value of Rs 1600 only, The delivery person came and was saying directly, they need extra money to deliver the order. Or else they will reject it and return. I told, I have already fully paid it online and Rs 129 exchange fees was added. So what is the extra charge about. If you dont want the exchange, cancel the exchange, I'll pay the extra Rs 1600 on amazon, let me talk to customer care and confirm it. The delivery boy told, No we dont have time for that, You do all of these customer care thing just and went away. I immediately reported this all to the amazon customer agent, both on chat and call. They told, the order will be reattempted for delivery the next day with another delivery agent and action will taken on this delivery agent. But after few miniutes, the order was cancelled. I booked it for sale price of Rs 65000 around, now the price has increased drastically. Just because of the scamster delivery guys, I as a loyal customer, waited for the phone for so long, paying money upfront, but still order cancelled and now struck. Feeling totally hopeless and dissapoint to the core. This is the ecommerce reality of India now!
I am from Hyderabad and there no problem here I have bought mi11x by giving realme C2 he didn't even told a word and took the old mobile and gave me the new one
3 years ago I exchanged my old phone for Samsung S7 via Flipkart. I asked my friend to shoot a video of present condition of my phone while handing it to the delivery guy so that I could use that video later if problem arises with FK. Needless to say it went smooth without a fuss. He even gave back the protection case of my old phone saying FK doesn't need it.
I have also faced the same problem 2 years back. I ordered phone from flipkart and my phone condition was excellent bt still their wishmaster denied to give order. Bt yes he didnt demand for any money. He was so rude too. And then i reorder from amazon and they took it so easily without any complaint.
My exchange was done in 2-3min... Took iqoo 7 with exchange of poco x3...got 12k discount... And the delivery boy was gamer we had good conversation also☺️
Flipkart also is a little bit specific in this field. But they just refuse it straight away and they don't try to compromise or scam people, but thier delivery guys also create a big fuss about this.

Have exchanged 2 phones with flipkart. Both were around 2 years old. Didn't face this issue. Most recent exchange was a redmi 5, bought for 8k, exchanged for 9k and got mi 10T. Well, to be honest, 7k for phone and 2k discount.
I suffered a similar misfortune. Had ordered Samsung a52 with an exchange. Where the delivery guy intentionally cancelled my order as he was unable to find any problem with my device. And he just entered wrong details multiple times in his portal which eventually cancelled the delivery.. I disagree with your opinion with #amazon being innocent as if issues are being communicated to customer support. They should revise their policies or work on the process of exchange to control this sought of #customerabuse by their delivery partners.
I too faced a similar kind of incident while exchanging phone with Amazon. I had to cancel the initial order and later re-ordered the new phone and exchanged it. The 1st delivery person was a bit of a fraud whereas the 2nd delivery person was very nice and exchanged my phone without even asking anything. Yesterday i bought Poco F3 GT from Flipkart in exchange of my Redmi Note 9. My Redmi Note 9 was in new condition. Delivery boy impressed by my Redmi Note 9 and he decides to keep this phone instead of handing it to Flipkart. In evening i got a message that i cancelled the exchange of Redmi Note 9 as i want to keep it with myself 😂
This is a gamic by the pick up boys.. just like you explained.. they want to get a cut of your exchange. no one would want to delay and run around on the delivery day.. so you agree to what ever explanation they give and agree for a cut on the online agreed/ approved rate and it goes to their pocket....and bad mouthing goes to main company..
Same things are happening in Kolkata .. I experienced this issue recently with flipkart delivery.. He simply asked 1500 straight for the exchange then finally 500 rupees.. Didn't accept than and insisted on speaking to his superior.. instantly he rescheduled my delivery on the next day and next day no one came for delivery , even for next 2 days.. eventually the order got cancelled.

it happened to me also.. i had old phone with screen broken. i fixed that with cheap one and exchanged it... i asked delivery guy is it ok... he was like yes... i will accept this... really top management should look after these kinds of idiots
I had a pretty good experience with phone exchange through amazon. The guy just delivered my phone and inspected my old phone and just took the exchange.
I have done exchange 4 times till date through amazon but the process was really smooth, only delivery person checks and were very helpful and for certain devices during extra 2000-5000 exchange schemes you can actually get more money ( latest i got mi 11 lite 4g ne for 13500 after exchanging my k20 pro + bank discount)

Old phone main to scratches to honge hi. What's the point of exchange if you do not accept scratches? Agree there should not be any screen damange and all keys and function should be working
Yes this thing happened with me also. But, the thing was I almost cancelled the order & delivery person had no issues with it. Yet my family members pushed me as it was in discount price.
Same happened with flipkart as well. It depends on the delivery person completely. Delivery guy can ask to cancel the exchange because they want to buy it from you if they like it. They will pay you the same amount which you have seen on the website.
Even in Flipkart same thing is going on. Just happened to me last month-- but he didn't ask me for money to repair for that minor scratch. But the stroy was the same that delivery guy called one person and he talked about the issue.
Amazon's delivery partners seems to be smart at their own side. Unfortunately we give them 1 star for their bad behaviour which can be harmful for their job also.
I am a guy who always likes to change his phone yearly. And every time I try for exchange but the delivery boys never accept my phone. What they do is hand me my new ordered phone and don't do any scam like this but they simply refuse to take the phone as an exchange. They figure out some minor problem in the phone like a small scratch (not visible to naked eyes) and and say "Ye phone nahi chalega."
Bhai isse aacha kisi offline dukandar se baat krke lelo phone...mene bhi ese hi kiya...ek dukandar h jo ye online phones wala kam krta h(asaan bhasha m black marketing of phones)...usne mene kai baar phone liye h bcoz vo jyada profit nhi rkhte online wale pe(500-1000 compared to 1500-2000 of other shops)...mene poco f3 gt lena tha(8/256) jo tb 30449 ka mil rha tha...cash on delivery bhi available tha...but the thing was ki mujhe apna purana phone bhi dena tha(redmi note 7 pro) and mujhe pta tha ki ye flipkart wale bohot pnge krte h exchange krne ke liye(specially scratches wale phone pe and mere wale pe bohot scratches the as m bina tempered ya cover ke use krta tha)..so I knew ki flipkart wale 6000 ka offer de to rhe h..but baad m pnge karenge...so mene uss dukandar ko phone dikhaya and btaya ki flipkart to 6000 de rha h..pehle vo kehta ki 27000 m denge nya phone purana wala leke(30499+551profit-4000 of old phone=27000)...fir mene thoda baat vgera kri and 26000 m baat khatam..so basically mujhe mere old phone ki value (2-2.5 years old with a lot of scratches) 4500 mil gyi which wasn't bad and unhone mujhe mera f3 gt mngwakr de diya....all that is better than flipkart or Amazon exchange
Sir you are right I am also facing same problems with flipkart and also complained to flipkart regarding that but they did not take any actions against that issue also I followed all instructions but their delivery boy always wants extra money for succesful pickup of exchange device.

That's's a common occurrence I guess. One of my friend had a similar issue where his phone was being refused by the guy who came to deliver and pick up new phone , He asked him to pay full value for Amazon product and offered to buy the old phone at very low value as compared to price given in exchange offer HimSelf .My friend cancelled the order . Placed another order after 2 days ,the second time it went off smoothly. So I guess it depends on the persons call who comes to pick up and deliver the new phone. Earlier there was single person for pick up and delivery not sure when they started with two people team.
This is also happened with me i was smart my moto g phone exchange price was 2500 but delivery boy didnt accept the phone. So i paid total mobile cost of 10k Then i sell my moto g phone at 3k 😂

My Terrible Experience" you will find a videos wich shows that there are a lot of other problems customers are facing. It can still be going for months before it broke. Dont buy there anynomre!
Exchange system is very smooth. I just need to complaint if anything like this happens and that will be a blunder for that delivery boy. My friend is a manager with eKart logistics and he told me about some of his delivery boy doing same fraud with the customers who caught and then suspended.
Happened when I bought a refrigerator in exchange on Flipkart. The delivery guy reduced the exchange amount of old refrigerator by 1000 rupees and told me that it won't be acceptable as company orders. He even called someone saying that it was his senior official and he is refusing to pay the full amount. I had to get rid of the old refrigerator so I had to settle for less amount but he told me that if I pay the delivery person an amount of 700rs, they can give me the full exchange value. It was a scam. I and they both knew that I am going to stuck with that old refrigerator and somehow with the help of this scam they made me pay that extra rs700. Don't fall for these guys, people like them can be found working in any company. Beware.
Yes both Flipkart and amazon resort to such tactics.. In my case, Flipkart delivery person straight away refused to exchange the old phone and had to pay cash for the exchange amount.
I had a really strange case today I purchased mi 11x and wanted to exchange for redmi note 9 pro max On day of delivery, it showed: order cancelled as the product did not meet requirements but the STRANGEST Issue: no one came to the house to deliver, the seller was not picking up my number, the amazon support tried to re do the delivery, and the delivery guy AGAIN cancelled it there
When it comes to Flipkart atleast based on the conditions mentioned for exchange, slight scratches or discoloration on any of d sides (of the phone) will not matter. There won't be any deduction in the exchage value.

This has happened to me today in Pune. Flipkart delivery guy asking for ₹1300 saying that the colour has faded a bit of the mobile. I was not at home, but my parents were. He then asked my Dad to get the screen protector removed for which my Dad went to a mobile shop as he couldn't remove it. And at that time the agent left stating he needs to do another delivery. That was around 3 PM and he hasnt returned yet
This happened with me too when I ordered a phone for my mom from flipkart too.. But the amount he demanded was just Rs250 so we let it go.But this didn't happen with Amazon .. the delivery guy didn't even ask for the original charger

Or aagar mobile damage hai to uska damage ka photo nikalke company ke WhatsApp group PE dalke senior logo ka permission leke done Kiya jyata hai. Agar phone phelese damage hai to use exchange place karte time udhar options hote hai or agar phone exchange nahi hota hai ya aap nahi karna chate to aap exchange ke jage cash pay kar sakte ho jo exchange amount hai o
I also faced the same with flipkart but flipkart has their system of cost cutting due to damage which amazon doesnt have..but still it depends upon the delivery boys decision...here definitely scam is going on...
same thing happened with me in 2017 when I exchanged Redmi Note 3 for buying Honor 8 Pro. The delivery guy was arguing over a minor scratch on the chasis. I told him its quite normal with old phones but he resisted to deliver. But then I told him that I'll call customer care to cancel the order and will tell the situation with them. Then I told him not to do the delivery. But then somehow he said ok to deliver and take my old phone with him.
8:10 IMEI is not accepted by the website, which was bought on flipkart earlier (in my case), website says " IMEI number does not match with selected device "
Happened with me too but on Flipkart Deliveries. They were not ready to take phones having minor scratch...which doesn't make any sense when it's exchanging old for new. I had to let go my order!!
I exchanged two smartphones with Flipkart, they accept minor scratches and don't deduct any value from the phone, so their exchange policy is pretty good.
Same thing happened with my friend last year. He was just trying to convince us to take the delivery same day. Ultimately we cancelled the order. The money of the overall value he was deducting from the exchange value was un acceptable. But jate time yeah bol raha tha ki customer aise phone exchange pe daal dete hai aur hum le lene ke baad baad m inspection k kuch galat paya jata hai to apna paise se kat jata hai. Same chiz mne bahut food delivery wale bando ko bhi bolte suna hai ki given time pe deliver nahi kar paya to khana to free ho jata hai but us delivery wale bande ke incentive se katta hai. Khair not sure actually aisa hota hai ki nahi. Just mujhe lafda nahi chahiye tha to mne order ho chance kar diya
Bro main khud ek seller hu amazon flipkart pe aur ye cheez hum log kitne time se jhel rahe hai hum hi jaante hai, customer ki to chodo seller ko kitna nuksaan hota hai jiska koi idea nahi hai, packaging, transportation, then refund and no re sale aftet return ye sab loss seller ka hai.

Yes you are right ...they do this kind of stuff...they talk inneccesary talks. From Kalyani Westbengal they do this,they try to find incescesary faults and try to reject my phone...Eben it was in top class condition. The same thing happened with m3 also...the side chessy thing.
Hi Manish I feel its rather not about the generation. The problem is you cannot report such issues anywhere as these guys are third party and no direct complaints can be made against them. At the end of the day the customer is at a loss with wasted time and energy. Its a loophole in these process which they are exploiting. This should be takenup by reapective companies to improve customer experience.
I faced the same issue today while exchanging the phone on Flipkart. I tried replacing my flawless phone. I am exchanging only to get latest OS and security patches. The delivery guy gave simply 3 reason: 1. He pressed back panel and said it's pressing ( it's obvious any plastic back panel if you press hard it will) 2. Screen discoloration (he simply trying to find which does not even exist it's fair clean) 3. Screen tilt. He is trying to keep on some table or surface and check. (That was weird. If phone screen or battery is puffed you can easily identify) And he is asking how much is your exchange value. (My answer was you must be knowing) I felt it's kind of scam. I asked him to cancel exchange and cancel my order. Complaint to Flipkart. Let's see when I am getting my prepaid payment.
It happens everywhere and is very rampant with Amazon. I recently tried to "exchange buy" phone in Bengaluru and faced the same issue. Finally had to cancel the entire order. Ethics of company, however big it is elsewhere, is always lacking in our country.
Flipkart exchange policy says, it shouldn't have cosmetic damage,colour fade & even weather impact (Yes for old phone) ... We should return their new phone as same way & scratch, marking, rupture on box consider as "cosmetic damage"
I live near Kolkata here Amazon exchange is working properly as they told in their website they also accept small dent or scratch but in Flipkart if your Phone is somehow bend they reduce the exchange amount but accept the scratch in body.

i used to work as amazon delivery boy, what we do when pickup/return/exchange was screen, model number ,ime for phone, no extra cost needed, i have done exchange 2 times in flipkart and myntra too , they checked my phone ime,screen,model thats it no extra cost needed, if a delivery boy asked for extra cost like delivery charge ne cautious , u will be charged only the amout in your order details, if the delivery boy ask for more u know something is up 😀. now u guys know never pay extra to delivery boy,tip is different thing. the reason delivery boy says its is last day to deliver product even parcel just comes in day 1 is company deduct salary from delivery boy(based on delivery ratio), hope this info helps 😀
Even I had a similar but Flipkart delivery person who came for exchange, kept my exchange phone with himself and paid me extra 400 rs. In your case I'm sure Amazon doesn't indulges in these things , if you bring to their notice definitely action would be taken against those, Amazon keeps always customer first, I have been shopping with them from years , not even once I had bad experience with Amazon. Flipkart is not upto Amazon when it comes to customer support.

Exactly same happened with me i have dust inside display & touch so the guy was rejecting my exchange phone i asked him let wait for 2-3 hour I'll fix it & give it to him but he was keep insisting me to pay the amount I'm getting as exchange & take the phone without any offer. So i denied him & cancelled the order unfortunately
Once I had experience from the seller . I got perfume bottle inplase of one flagship mobile through Amazon. Luckily I opened the packet in presence of delivery agent followed by contacting customer care . As per advice of customer care taken the images and sent . After receiving of returned packet Amazon refunded the original amount of mobile added with Rs 3000 as a compensation for the inconvenience caused to valid customer. Amazon and Flipkart organisation's are good but the scheduled customers and middle personnel organizing transportation are not fair. In my case the sender was culprit . On my repeated stress upon Amazon the seller was removed from scheduled list .
I'm from Gujarat and there is no such problem (till now). I exchanged 4-5 phones in last 2 months( mine and friends). One of the phone was damaged so exchange prices was dropped a bit but same price was mentioned in order detail later.

There is another kind of scam going on atm, these delivery people are sorting some packages wrong and miss delivery date, they will call you to tell that they will deliver tomorrow as package has came to wrong distribution center or area (A bullshit excuse, I've been customer for 10 years and with same address). But they never do, so after 2-3 days when you try to track, that package status is not being updated on amazon and so only option left is to call their customer support, where they will tell you to cancel the order. Some will even ask you to file complaint against the "seller", who is not at fault in these cases. What they do is they mark these packages as "returned" and then send them to local amazon warehouse dealers for commission from them. See problem is that these dealers ask for "Specific products" on demand from customer who contact them but generally its supposed to be only at amazons discretion to send returned electronic or other goods to these dealers as often product package is "opened", in which case original company/seller also doesn't accept it and prefers to cut its loss by selling it through these warehouse dealers.
The local hub which delivers the product is responsible for acquiring and reselling the exchanged products. It's a scam and the head of the hub manager is also involved. They want to get the phone at as low as possible , lower than what offer by the website.
Happened with me when I sold my phone on Cashify. He said ki sirf 15 din bache hai aur ye 3 mahine se jyada ka ho jayega to exchange value under 6 month old phone ke hisaab se milega. This happened in Mumbai. My personal experience is that Mumbai is full of scammers.
I have face almost same story, I tried to exchange my Realme XT 8GB 128GB with one plus nord 2T. The mobile is absolutely good condition with 0 scratches and due to cover condition of phone is also very good, but the delivery boy find some issues... due to cover in side panel dust store and the delivery boy said its not exchangeable and to take new mobile I have to pay exchange amount of 10k. Then I denied to exchange and cancel order. With this kind of situation we are helpless because the comment of delivery boy is the last word for deals, their is no option to confirm or acknowledge from any second opinion...

I am from aligarh, abhi kal Flipkart exchange me same yahi hua, poora ji Jaan laga ke ek scratch khoja usne, fir usko body damage dikha ke sidha 2000 less kar diya, fir baad me direct bribe ke room pe 1500 mangne laga, bola ki aage bhi 2 logo ko phone check karna hota hai, sabko Paisa Dena padta hai, etc etc, last 1000 tk bribe mang Raha tha, then Maine bola ki tum order cancel hin kar do, Mai ek rupaiya extra nhi Dene wala, or Maine Flipkart pe complaint bhi dala hai iska. You should have complained about the delivery agent. I work in amazon as a customer support executive and i know how strictly we take actions against this kind of delivery agents. This was a completely unfortunate case. Amazon never support this type of behavior. Being an amazon employee i felt bad and like to apologize for the inconvenience.

Happened to me from Flipkart. The delivery guy bought 2 more persons. Whom he brought to sell it directly, so he just started picking nonsensical problems which were not there, and gave wrong inputs in the check list. And asked me to give extra money or cancel it. What his intentions were to get the phone at as cheap as possible and cancel the exchange and sell it to someone at good price and get some money. I understood what he actually wanted so I just cancelled and ordered again. The next guy was honest and came alone and took the phone without any issue. Do not, I repeat do not get into their traps.

I had this experience just yesterday, when I tried searching for amazon mobile exchange scam I stumbled upon this video. I can relate to every word you have said. The delivery guy who came for the exchange seemed suspicious from the time he came. He even went ahead and took the otp for delivery and was trying to get away when I stopped him and told him he cannot move unless I have spoken to Amazon. I am going to take this up with amazon today and ensure that they take strict action and stop fooling customers. I am from Mumbai btw.

The delivery boy told, No we dont have time for that, You do all of these customer care thing just and went away.
I immediately reported this all to the amazon customer agent, both on chat and call. They told, the order will be reattempted for delivery the next day with another delivery agent and action will taken on this delivery agent.
But after few miniutes, the order was cancelled. I booked it for sale price of Rs 65000 around, now the price has increased drastically.
Just because of the scamster delivery guys, I as a loyal customer, waited for the phone for so long, paying money upfront, but still order cancelled and now struck. Feeling totally hopeless and dissapoint to the core. This is the ecommerce reality of India now!

3 years ago I exchanged my old phone for Samsung S7 via Flipkart. I asked my friend to shoot a video of present condition of my phone while handing it to the delivery guy so that I could use that video later if problem arises with FK. Needless to say it went smooth without a fuss. He even gave back the protection case of my old phone saying FK doesn't need it.
I have also faced the same problem 2 years back. I ordered phone from flipkart and my phone condition was excellent bt still their wishmaster denied to give order. Bt yes he didnt demand for any money. He was so rude too. And then i reorder from amazon and they took it so easily without any complaint.
My exchange was done in 2-3min... Took iqoo 7 with exchange of poco x3...got 12k discount... And the delivery boy was gamer we had good conversation also☺️

Flipkart also is a little bit specific in this field. But they just refuse it straight away and they don't try to compromise or scam people, but thier delivery guys also create a big fuss about this.

Have exchanged 2 phones with flipkart. Both were around 2 years old. Didn't face this issue. Most recent exchange was a redmi 5, bought for 8k, exchanged for 9k and got mi 10T. Well, to be honest, 7k for phone and 2k discount.

I disagree with your opinion with #amazon being innocent as if issues are being communicated to customer support. They should revise their policies or work on the process of exchange to control this sought of #customerabuse by their delivery partners.

I too faced a similar kind of incident while exchanging phone with Amazon. I had to cancel the initial order and later re-ordered the new phone and exchanged it. The 1st delivery person was a bit of a fraud whereas the 2nd delivery person was very nice and exchanged my phone without even asking anything. it happened to me also.. i had old phone with screen broken. i fixed that with cheap one and exchanged it... i asked delivery guy is it ok... he was like yes... i will accept this... really top management should look after these kinds of idiots
I had a pretty good experience with phone exchange through amazon. The guy just delivered my phone and inspected my old phone and just took the exchange.
I have done exchange 4 times till date through amazon but the process was really smooth, only delivery person checks and were very helpful and for certain devices during extra 2000-5000 exchange schemes you can actually get more money ( latest i got mi 11 lite 4g ne for 13500 after exchanging my k20 pro + bank discount)

Yes this thing happened with me also. But, the thing was I almost cancelled the order & delivery person had no issues with it. Yet my family members pushed me as it was in discount price.
Same happened with flipkart as well. It depends on the delivery person completely. Delivery guy can ask to cancel the exchange because they want to buy it from you if they like it. They will pay you the same amount which you have seen on the website.
Even in Flipkart same thing is going on. Just happened to me last month-- but he didn't ask me for money to repair for that minor scratch. But the stroy was the same that delivery guy called one person and he talked about the issue.

That's's a common occurrence I guess. One of my friend had a similar issue where his phone was being refused by the guy who came to deliver and pick up new phone , He asked him to pay full value for Amazon product and offered to buy the old phone at very low value as compared to price given in exchange offer HimSelf .My friend cancelled the order . Placed another order after 2 days ,the second time it went off smoothly. So I guess it depends on the persons call who comes to pick up and deliver the new phone. Earlier there was single person for pick up and delivery not sure when they started with two people team.

Exchange system is very smooth. I just need to complaint if anything like this happens and that will be a blunder for that delivery boy. My friend is a manager with eKart logistics and he told me about some of his delivery boy doing same fraud with the customers who caught and then suspended.

Happened when I bought a refrigerator in exchange on Flipkart. The delivery guy reduced the exchange amount of old refrigerator by 1000 rupees and told me that it won't be acceptable as company orders. He even called someone saying that it was his senior official and he is refusing to pay the full amount. I had to get rid of the old refrigerator so I had to settle for less amount but he told me that if I pay the delivery person an amount of 700rs, they can give me the full exchange value. It was a scam. I and they both knew that I am going to stuck with that old refrigerator and somehow with the help of this scam they made me pay that extra rs700. Don't fall for these guys, people like them can be found working in any company. Beware.

When it comes to Flipkart atleast based on the conditions mentioned for exchange, slight scratches or discoloration on any of d sides (of the phone) will not matter. There won't be any deduction in the exchage value.

This has happened to me today in Pune. Flipkart delivery guy asking for ₹1300 saying that the colour has faded a bit of the mobile. I was not at home, but my parents were. He then asked my Dad to get the screen protector removed for which my Dad went to a mobile shop as he couldn't remove it. And at that time the agent left stating he needs to do another delivery. That was around 3 PM and he hasnt returned yet
Yes same happened with me from Flipkart delivery boys asking me for 1k due to side panel but I hadn't gave him a single rupee.

same thing happened with me in 2017 when I exchanged Redmi Note 3 for buying Honor 8 Pro. The delivery guy was arguing over a minor scratch on the chasis. I told him its quite normal with old phones but he resisted to deliver. But then I told him that I'll call customer care to cancel the order and will tell the situation with them. Then I told him not to do the delivery. But then somehow he said ok to deliver and take my old phone with him.

Same thing happened with my friend last year. He was just trying to convince us to take the delivery same day. Ultimately we cancelled the order. The money of the overall value he was deducting from the exchange value was un acceptable. I feel its rather not about the generation. The problem is you cannot report such issues anywhere as these guys are third party and no direct complaints can be made against them. At the end of the day the customer is at a loss with wasted time and energy.
Its a loophole in these process which they are exploiting. This should be takenup by reapective companies to improve customer experience.
I faced the same issue today while exchanging the phone on Flipkart. I tried replacing my flawless phone. I am exchanging only to get latest OS and security patches. The delivery guy gave simply 3 reason:
1. He pressed back panel and said it's pressing ( it's obvious any plastic back panel if you press hard it will)
2. Screen discoloration (he simply trying to find which does not even exist it's fair clean)
3. Screen tilt. He is trying to keep on some table or surface and check. (That was weird. If phone screen or battery is puffed you can easily identify)
And he is asking how much is your exchange value. (My answer was you must be knowing)
I felt it's kind of scam. I asked him to cancel exchange and cancel my order. Complaint to Flipkart. Let's see when I am getting my prepaid payment.

It happens everywhere and is very rampant with Amazon. I recently tried to "exchange buy" phone in Bengaluru and faced the same issue. Finally had to cancel the entire order. Ethics of company, however big it is elsewhere, is always lacking in our country.

Same thing happened to me with flipkart in Surat, i cancelled the order
i used to work as amazon delivery boy, what we do when pickup/return/exchange was screen, model number ,ime for phone, no extra cost needed, i have done exchange 2 times in flipkart and myntra too , they checked my phone ime,screen,model thats it no extra cost needed, if a delivery boy asked for extra cost like delivery charge ne cautious , u will be charged only the amout in your order details, if the delivery boy ask for more u know something is up 😀.
now u guys know never pay extra to delivery boy,tip is different thing.
the reason delivery boy says its is last day to deliver product even parcel just comes in day 1 is company deduct salary from delivery boy(based on delivery ratio), hope this info helps 😀

Even I had a similar but Flipkart delivery person who came for exchange, kept my exchange phone with himself and paid me extra 400 rs.
In your case I'm sure Amazon doesn't indulges in these things , if you bring to their notice definitely action would be taken against those, Amazon keeps always customer first, I have been shopping with them from years , not even once I had bad experience with Amazon. Flipkart is not upto Amazon when it comes to customer support.
I ordered Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra from Amazon on 7 october 2023, the Phone was attempted for delivery today on 13 October. It had exchange item for Redmi 5A phone which had a exchange value of Rs 1600 only,
The delivery person came and was saying directly, they need extra money to deliver the order. Or else they will reject it and return.
I told, I have already fully paid it online and Rs 129 exchange fees was added. So what is the extra charge about. If you dont want the exchange, cancel the exchange, I'll pay the extra Rs 1600 on amazon, let me talk to customer care and confirm it. The delivery boy told, No we dont have time for that, You do all of these customer care thing just and went away.
I immediately reported this all to the amazon customer agent, both on chat and call. They told, the order will be reattempted for delivery the next day with another delivery agent and action will taken on this delivery agent.
But after few miniutes, the order was cancelled. I booked it for sale price of Rs 65000 around, now the price has increased drastically.
Just because of the scamster delivery guys, I as a loyal customer, waited for the phone for so long, paying money upfront, but still order cancelled and now struck. Feeling totally hopeless and dissapoint to the core. This is the ecommerce reality of India now!
Exactly same happened with me i have dust inside display & touch so the guy was rejecting my exchange phone i asked him let wait for 2-3 hour I'll fix it & give it to him but he was keep insisting me to pay the amount I'm getting as exchange & take the phone without any offer. So i denied him & cancelled the order unfortunately
Once I had experience from the seller . I got perfume bottle inplase of one flagship mobile through Amazon. Luckily I opened the packet in presence of delivery agent followed by contacting customer care . As per advice of customer care taken the images and sent .
After receiving of returned packet Amazon refunded the original amount of mobile added with Rs 3000 as a compensation for the inconvenience caused to valid customer. Amazon and Flipkart organisation's are good but the scheduled customers and middle personnel organizing transportation are not fair. In my case the sender was culprit . On my repeated stress upon Amazon the seller was removed from scheduled list .
My new fireTVstick 2021 is showing a message while setting up "fireTVstick is unable to update" 😕

I'm from Gujarat and there is no such problem (till now). I exchanged 4-5 phones in last 2 months( mine and friends). One of the phone was damaged so exchange prices was dropped a bit but same price was mentioned in order detail later.

Agar koi naye phone me koi pareshani hoti hai to flipkart ke executive phone exchange ke liye call karte hai aur turant disconnect bhi karte hai, aur sabhi attempt khatam ho jane par Aapka exchange nahi ho pata hai, aapko wahi phone jhelna padta hai

I am a teacher.. and i am doing part time delivery in amazon and flipkart.and believe me sir.. amazon accept the phone with minor scratches, dents and paint torn off.. but flipkart wale bhi like hume to new phone chahiye

There is another kind of scam going on atm, these delivery people are sorting some packages wrong and miss delivery date, they will call you to tell that they will deliver tomorrow as package has came to wrong distribution center or area (A bullshit excuse, I've been customer for 10 years and with same address). But they never do, so after 2-3 days when you try to track, that package status is not being updated on amazon and so only option left is to call their customer support, where they will tell you to cancel the order.
Some will even ask you to file complaint against the "seller", who is not at fault in these cases. What they do is they mark these packages as "returned" and then send them to local amazon warehouse dealers for commission from them.
See problem is that these dealers ask for "Specific products" on demand from customer who contact them but generally its supposed to be only at amazons discretion to send returned electronic or other goods to these dealers as often product package is "opened", in which case original company/seller also doesn't accept it and prefers to cut its loss by selling it through these warehouse dealers.
The local hub which delivers the product is responsible for acquiring and reselling the exchanged products.
It's a scam and the head of the hub manager is also involved.
They want to get the phone at as low as possible , lower than what offer by the website.
Happened with me when I sold my phone on Cashify. He said ki sirf 15 din bache hai aur ye 3 mahine se jyada ka ho jayega to exchange value under 6 month old phone ke hisaab se milega. This happened in Mumbai. My personal experience is that Mumbai is full of scammers.

I have face almost same story, I tried to exchange my Realme XT 8GB 128GB with one plus nord 2T. The mobile is absolutely good condition with 0 scratches and due to cover condition of phone is also very good, but the delivery boy find some issues... due to cover in side panel dust store and the delivery boy said its not exchangeable and to take new mobile I have to pay exchange amount of 10k. Then I denied to exchange and cancel order. With this kind of situation we are helpless because the comment of delivery boy is the last word for deals, their is no option to confirm or acknowledge from any second opinion...
Exactly... Amazon and Flipkart want old items as new without any damage, dents, scratches 😂 as if we keep those mobiles n laptops in museum's n apply for exchange after few years 🤦

I am from aligarh, abhi kal Flipkart exchange me same yahi hua, poora ji Jaan laga ke ek scratch khoja usne, fir usko body damage dikha ke sidha 2000 less kar diya, fir baad me direct bribe ke room pe 1500 mangne laga, bola ki aage bhi 2 logo ko phone check karna hota hai, sabko Paisa Dena padta hai, etc etc, last 1000 tk bribe mang Raha tha, then Maine bola ki tum order cancel hin kar do, Mai ek rupaiya extra nhi Dene wala, or Maine Flipkart pe complaint bhi dala hai iska.
I think idhar agra, aligarh ki taraf ye scene Jayda hai. Mere home town bihar me aisa koi dikkat nhi hai waha smoothly ho jata hai Mai pahle 3 exchange kar chuka hun..
Mere case me bhi 2 person aaye the aur wo to proper delivery wale bhi nhi the bas ek chota sa backpack leke aaye the sirf mera exchange karwane.
Same on flipkart also. The delivery guy was asking for money. I went to their office and met with manager. The manager had no issue with that phone

this is good informative video. Well about Flipkart, it is worst, they do the same as mentioned by you by Amazon. Flipkart charge much more for buy buy, that too in cash. It is scam
