Gee thanks for this, I find the twdb hard to search let alone load anything up to... not surprised it took you a while to master how to do it! I've finely got a typewriter that I haven't model identified missing it's labels... so that'll be a candidate in due course. Cheers David
Typewriters make you THINK about the whole writing process. For some lousy, self taught typists like me, they're a nightmare if you're writing a FORMAL letter rather than the stream of consciousness "notes" I tend to use them for. I ENVY "school taught" typists. Although at my Roman Catholic parish grade school, no such course was offered. Most of the lovely, neatly typed papers submitted by my classmates were, in fact, typed up by their Moms who, back in these days had all been expected to rise no higher than as "executive secretaries" to men. My parents were blue collar, hard workers with NO higher schooling. The ONLY things they "typed" were the shipping labels on care packages they sent home to poorer relatives in Europe.
Well now I feel called out, thanks Sarah haha. I've ben an avid database user since I got started in this lifestyle of hunting typewriters in the wild. I now have 10 machines since October of 2022 and it has been a journey of learning and I love it. So since this video I have now made an account and requested from Ted to join the ranks such as your self in the mighty typewriter hunter society 😆 🤣
Good on you! The biggest issue I have with adding any of my typewriters is that I really have no idea when they were made. I also don't really have a studio to take nice photos. But I do agree that it is a great thing to do, and so you have inspired me to try and get my act together. I only have one machine that I think is a bit unusual, an electric typebar Smith-Corona "SX660", which might simply be a re-badged model called something else in other markets, I'm not sure. But the rest are pretty common. The database also only has one Remington International, and mine is a bit different.

Thank you for doing this video. I have approximately 60 machines OK maybe 70. I am a reregisterd hunter😊 but,always find this site to difficult to put in my machines. Today's technology is easier take pic add story upload. I will try again thanks to you! Wish me luck,fingers crossed. Maybe a step by step process will be easier. Maybe I will play your video,over and over,taking notes..by the way I use tags also after looking up the age etc on twdb. Rev.Ted is the best for creating this invaluable tool.

oh goodness, now I have to upload my commodore typewriter because I have literally never seen it anywhere ever so it would be valuable to have on the database but also I don't want to go to all that trouble because of creating an account and navigating the typewriter hunter feature seamed hard...

Is it possible to input the typewriter data of someone else's typewriter under your account? I think I have a few unique ones that don't appear there but I really don't want to feed or give excuses for my hoarding habits by making an account for a typewriter collecting website. XD
Index cards, of course typed, and in a nifty old metal box. Tell me exactly how to become a TWDB “hunter” because I can’t find the elusive blog post mentioned. And of course a YT search leads to you, so Ted should take lessons from you on algorithms :-)) There is no link in the twdb instructions to a blog post.
