    $10K for 480WHP seems...excessive. I spent $15K on my C5, but that includes a new LS3, head work, the cam, long tubes, and a blower. It's putting down just over 700 at the wheels.

I thought since this was an older car he would put much more effort into it since he didn't have to worry about warranty, he even said it himself he would do much more to this corvette for that same reason. but sadly I think he dissapointed all of us

      I'll be keeping it for a while longer but not super long term. Graduating college, getting married & trying to buy a house next summer take priority over dumping more money into a C6. Like someone already mentioned. There's a difference between an unnecessary money pit and a fun reliable sports car. Pretty much have it right where I want it and anything more would cost a lot more money.

    My 2012 GS C6 is an automatic, but our cars are pretty much the same, until you installed your cam. I recently had mine updated to American Racing 1 7/8" long tube headers and high flow cats, and then tuned -- and got 32 RWHP to 397, without any CAI install (it is stock). I won't be putting a CAI on due to wanting less dirt sucked into the engine -- I don't track it, so I don't care about a .4 of a sec or less difference. Next will be a cam and maybe head work, but deciding on a cam takes a lot of pondering... do I want torque or high-end HP, when the engine 'lives' at 1500-2000 RPMs on the interstate? Appreciate your posts, enjoy you spending money and letting us know, so I don't have to dive in and decide it was a mistake on something I thought I'd like to do... lol. And then there is always a roots blower, which, requires a different cam... oh, decisions, decisions...

    To really get the fluid cleaned you need to repeat that process multiple times for the fluid the circulate the system. Once isn’t enough. I hope you do more than just a cam and some bolt ons. A A&A kit isn’t that much neither is their fuel system.

    I have a vette bro and don’t believe people when they say stuff doesn’t matter it all adds up. 10 , 20 here. Between some ported heads , Mamo ported fasst intake and a e85 flex fuel system and a ported throttle body you left 50-60 whp on the table and if you went up 1 point on your compression that’s another 10-15 whp. It all adds up when staying n/a and it’s not the peak so much but under the curve that will make you perform better than the peak numbers say and beat cars that are boost with mike power.

    you should gravity bleed the clutch, takes like 15 mins and gets all the new fluid through your system. Changing fluid in your resevoir will only do so much

    • @greg12m3
      @greg12m3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Danny Dang do you know where the bleeder screw is for a c5/c6 vette?

    • @greg12m3
      @greg12m3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because its not possible to gravity bleed them or bleed them in general without removing the torque tube which means the transmission needs to come off which means the diff needs to come out which means the rear subframe needs to come down. The ranger method which is what he attempted to do is pretty effective for getting the shit fluid out.

  • @LMBC6Brian
    @LMBC6Brian 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    FYI RP, you need to do that clutch fluid swap several times in a row at the same time. Pausing in between swaps to work the clutch. I would pump the clutch 50 times in between each swap. I would do the swap in one sitting 3-4 times to cycle out the black fluid to get it to come clear once you work the clutch. Doing it one time is not doing anything.

    what’s makes it more for fun then the 6gen camaro you had ?

    • @RPProductions
      @RPProductions  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 6th gen was such a good car it felt "too good." The C6 just feels more raw while the Camaro was a bit more isolated from the road. Both drive/handle great but leave you with different feelings while driving.

      Expect the humidity in Arizona is nothing compared to Texas not the heat itself that makes it bad out here but the humidity

    • @STILLNIGHTPEARL
      @STILLNIGHTPEARL 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mexicali is hotter than both, 120+ with humidity at times due to it being around sea level. It feels like a blow dryer on your face and it feels like you can’t breathe.

    • @H8onG
      @H8onG 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here in Houston it was 81 with a feels like temp of 97 at 6am. 93% humidity, right now the concrete temp is 143, we have a ton more concrete here for that heat to bounce off of than Arizona. It's fucking hot here.

    thats not the way to flush/bleed the clutch fluid. you have to have someone pump the pedal, then hold it down and crack the bleeder on the slave. do that a bunch of times and replace the fluid in the master cylinder as it gets low.

    • @J2evvin
      @J2evvin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bleeder is not accessible in these cars without an aftermarket “speed bleeder”, basically an extended hose that comes off the slave. But, to install you basically have to remove the rear cradle and move the torque tube back.

    • @2001chevycamaross
      @2001chevycamaross 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      J2evvin i was told that about my car and was able to do it. There is a hole in the bellhousing that lets you get a socket on the bleeder. Makes a mess, but its the only way to change the fluid. This just dilutes the fluid, but still leaves containments.

    I have a c6 Grandsport myself, given the horsepower number you gave, I was confused how you figured it was as fast as a stock Hellcat, if you don't mind my asking?

    • @richardcerritelli9657
      @richardcerritelli9657 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because of power-to-weight ratio the horsepower numbers he's given horsepower to weight ratio Corvettes probably faster then a Hellcat.
