Excellent tool indeed, Tomasz! 😃
Thanks for the assembly guide!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks 👍
Hi, I took delivery of this saw in November, and I love it. I can't wait to get to know her a bit better this year, but so far, so good.👍
Great to hear that and thank you for watching 👍
Hi Thomas - glad to see you've had the upgrade. Will look forward to seeing your upcoming updates to the saw. I'm sure you've been responsible for many purchases of the original, mine included. The new model is better in every way.
@spongefactory hehe thanks, I'm super excited to start working with it 😄
@@CasualDIY I went for the TBL+ this time for the soft start, back extension and possibly something else - can't remember the differences.
@spongefactory oh yes its no brainer to go for the + version. Unfortunately I didn't had the choice. Their stock in Poland is very low and that's what they had.
I bought a Rage 5 saw several years ago after watching one of your reviews when you were UK based. I found it a good saw and good value but flawed. I upgraded to the new RB255 TBL+ when it was introduced and it is a major improvement. Build quality is better. Dust extraction actually works. Set up is easy. The new standard mitre saw tracks are a godsend and the metal saw clearance plate is excellent. This time around did not get the folding stand but opted to build a mobile saw station which I find is more stable, houses all the accessories and dosen‘t take up much more room. I look forward to a new series of videos featuring your new saw.
PS. I got a good price when I sold my Rage 5 so no reason for anyone not to upgrade. 😀
@kstewart3657 That's so true. They really improved this saw, and it is still at very good price when you consider what it has to offer. Mine eventually will be mounted in a workbench, I think. But made like 10 different plans and setups for my workshop and just can't decide what to do 😅
Brilliant video, with attention to detail instructions. Have saved this to help me build my new & still boxed TBL-255+ which I plan to open in the next couple of months. I've subscribed and hopefully get a notifi ation when you've released the continuation video - showing tweaks & adjustments. Thank you Tomasz🙏
Great to hear it, welcome aboard 😄👍
Look forward to the set up video
Excellent video. I could have done with this about 3 months ago when I received my R255TBL+ as I found the instructions on assemly of the stand a little confusing. It all came together and I am very pleased with the saw. Quality seems excellent. I have not used it much so look forward to seeing your next video when you put it to work. Thanks for a well documented video, Thomas.
@mikebernard4762 yes the instructions lack bit of text lol thank you for watching
Many thanks Thomas, good detailed instructions! Look forward to the next one. Chris
@@Chris-uu6dg thank you so much for watching 👍
I bought the + in September last year, wanted the stand and saw package but had to get separate as everyone was sold out. It's in the garage as we had a baby 3 weeks ago so had other priorities. This video will be very helpful and there were no instructions with the stand. I put it together using the photos from the website. Couldn't find them anywhere to download, though they may be available now.
Bought the saw 100% from your recommendations of the previous version. The rack and opinion fence was the best addition for my needs, though this is my first table saw.
@simongill5136 yes it seems this new model is a great improvement on the Rage 5 but I will be checking that out in the coming weeks and months 👍
Hi Tomasz, waiting for your review on you new saw, any idea when this will be , many thanks
@chrisybradshaw8594 I should have a video out by end of next week about all the features and how to tune this saw up. Full review of this saw will be in few months. I need to see how it holds over time and if there will be any issues that may not be visible at the beginning.
@@CasualDIY thanks Tomasz
Been waiting over 6 months for it to be available in Ireland.
No supplier in the UK will ship to Ireland.
Still waiting.. 😢
That's bad. Here in Poland the stock is also very low. This saw is in very high demand by the looks of it.
No friends in Norn Ireland?
I've recently set up 3 R255TBLs (2 + models and a basic one similar to yours). The first was damaged by DHL in transit (the fence rail was bent, I set it up because I thought Evolution would be sending me a repacement part, but they decided to replace thewhole saw). I put the stand together together (what a nightmare that was, you musrt have put a lot of effort into your assembly part of the video, because the instructions are at best misleading). The second saw I received was not the + model I had expected, but in my enthusiasm I didnt notice until I had spent a considerable time setting it up. That one was returned and I finally received my third one - this time the correct model, undamaged on the inside, but the box was again attacked by DHL. Now to my view on what to expect - the blade setup in terms of adjusting it parallel to one or both of the mitre slots as you say is very straightforward (however the amount of adjustment is limited and was at the end of its adjustment when the blade was aligned). The riving knife adjustment to align it parallel to the blade fom front to bock i.e. to make it parallel to the blade/mitre slots as seen from abve is no problem. However on my saw the assembly holding the riving knife vertical was out of alignment (the riving knife was nice and flat) so the assembly needed to be removed and filed to straighten the riving knife - this took a long time as it had to be done very carefully. The sliding panel also required the guide rails to be aligned to remove sideways play and to align the two mitre slots to each other. My current problem is that the fence isn't perpendicular to the table. Will be interesting to see how you get on.
@billstanley5317 wow well that was a full on story, and I think the ability to adjust the saw is only as good as the overall manufacture quality of the product. As if there is something significantly wrong with the saw, no range of adjustment will fix it. Well I can't wait to see what quality is my saw.
Hi Tomas, looking forward to your next video about this saw. I have the Rage 5S and the biggest flow in that is the blade tracking for me. You can set that up as best as you can but when you grab the dust port at the back it wiggles the whole motor/blade assembly in the blade tilt mechanism at the back. It locks at the front with the knob but the back is loose by design. This effects the blade tracking. I really wonder if Evolution have improved this issue. Could you have a look into it and show us all that the blade no longer wiggles with moving the dustport.
Many thanks
@Secbra1 oh yes they did, I mention that in this video. At the back you have an easy accessible bolt with nut and lock to dile in the tracking and lock it in place. Absolutely fantastic feature. I'll be testing all that in my next video about this saw.
Nice one thank you.
they also have a Riving knife for cross cut sleds and they do have Zero Clearance Aluminium Throat Plate insert Kit but they are out of stock at the moment
@Harti243 Yes, I had a look at their website yesterday. I'm after that riving knife 🤔
@@CasualDIY just a quick question does the riving knife off your old saw fit your new one and if so what else can be switch over?
@Harti243 now that's a good question I'll have to check that 🤔
Hi Thomas. Thank you for the detailed assembly, my new machine arrived yesterday so it was very timely. I have (twice) followed your instructions step by step but cannot get it completed. All goes well until minutes 9.00 - 10.00 where you show a part threaded hex head bolt being fitted into the left side, something to do with the latching mechanism?? This component was not in my pack which I will contact Evolution about. The next step is to fit one of the bolts with the square shoulder thru to the adjacent tube - the only hole that will marry up does not have a square hole for the shoulder to nest in. Have I missed something? 8:58
UPDATE: on the bottom of 4th page of the saw manual there is a diagram showing all the bolts used in the assembly of the table saw trolley. The bolts are labelled J - P the one missing missing from my kit is bolt L. Don't know what it's function is but can't finish the assembly without it 😢 Waiting for customer service to get back to me, not pleased
Ok so the bolt L is being installed on picture 1.9. This is a positive stop for the lock mechanism of the base when the saw its folded up (standing vertical ready to be moved around - you can't use the saw in this position) it doesn't do anything else. You can continue putting everything together with no issues. And when Evolution sent you this bolt you can easily install it 👍
If you are missing the square opening for the bolt that means your orientation of the pipes and position of them is incorrect. That's why I say on my video the orientation I'm in to the elements I'm putting together every time I change their orientation I do say it in the video plus I highlight how those pipes should be orientated towards you and the rest of the components. It's very important to follow that.
@CasualDIY Thanks for that Tomás. I was at the end of my tether when I sent you that, I will check that soon, I'm sure you are right. I'm still missing bolt L, which I was first told was factory fitted, but now after many emails to them showing the pics from the assembly diagrams, they have now promised to send one out. 😋 Looking forward to seeing the setup video.
I don't think that one has soft start but it isn't too brutal at all. I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference with the + ?
@nialstewart8263 That's true, this model does not come with soft start but it did get me fooled to be honest. For the first time I switched it on I thought it had it 😅 So with a soft start in the + model it must be smooth as butter 👍😄
@@CasualDIY I was sent the basic tbl model by evolution in error and it certainly was nowhere near as smooth in runup as the one you received. When you press the on button the whole saw jerks and its up to speed almost instantly. Yours sounds closer to my +!!
👍👍
Hi Thomas, that must be the most complicated stand assembly I have ever seen, you should have been paid by evolution to demonstrate the process
@@kelvinlewis1329 hehe have you seen the stand for Rage 5S? That was even worse lol
