- Hi friends! My family and I just returned from a trip to Tennessee and in today’s video I tell you a little bit about it.

❤ this video. I was surprised to see how big pigeon forge has become how different I agree. In the early 80s there were still outhouses. Plus a lot of the old barns are long gone.
I live near border of Tennessee. Drove to Chattanooga awhile back. On the way you pass the rapids where they had the Olympics one year. That area and a little beyond is beautiful. There's also an area, I can't remember the town, near Greenville TN, where the mountains are so beautiful.
As for the video you have so many likes for, do you mean the one where you told stories about your jobs? I loved that because it was long and interesting and soothing. I like stories more than anything. Your trip sounds wonderful. I'd love to go to Cade's cove. There is a place near me that is so beautiful. Fires creek falls and the rim trail beyond that are beautiful. This is clay county nc
Sounds like a wonderful trip! Thanks so much for sharing and showing pictures. I went to Tennessee for the first time this past March. My husband just recently found out that he has 5 half siblings that he didn’t know he had. We met his brothers last September and just recently met his 2 sisters. It’s been amazing!One sibling lives close to us and rest are spread out a bit. But his one brother bought a farm and moved to Bethel Sorings, TN. We had such a great time visiting them and had fun on their farm. I would love to see more of that beautiful state, especially the Smokies.

My BFF is Natalie and we’ve known each other since we were 14 and I remember her giving my daughter a doll house when she was little and her going to her dad to complain that auntie Natalie and mama weren’t sharing the dollhouse lol. Thanks for giving me back that memory.

Lindy, the weekend sounded so beautiful. But yes they are constantly saying up here in PA,NJ,DE NY. To move to the south for sure. Tennessee and NC. Are the big ones they are selling do to such high taxes and cost of living. I would love to take a vacation as soon as I can be in public it’s all sounded fabulous I love Museums. I like to do educational things and see how people live in the area from early life till present. I don’t sit out in the sun so I don’t like vacations that are to like a resort Bahamas or Bermuda or anything like that… I used to do it when My Son❤️ was young but not anymore I have been to Williamsburg all over Virginia twice seeing everything I possibly could… somebody I know told me Tennessee was really beautiful💕🌸 it’s was great seeing you today!!!! xoxo. About the car… I have a black Mercedes suv. It’s still going strong….I think there is 180,000 miles on it. Knock on wood. I hate new cars too. I don’t even know how to work the stuff that’s in the cars I own. I have two of them, but I like driving a suv… I used to only drive Camaros. I had quite a few of those in my life, I would, keep it and then rebuy another one but eventually grew out of them lol😊
and when you hit the gas pedal of those Camero's, I'll bet they sounded good!
Of course you drive a Mercedes... lol! So do I. 2009. I'll drive it forever if I can.
@@Southernladyasmr omg Mercedes of course!! That is to to funny 😆 my is a 2009 as well. 💕🌸I had to think about it. It actually just had a recall I was kinda of a surprised but the did fix it. Oh yes my Camaros were great to ride I had a car seat in the back lol. My son would love to be driven to school in them. Too funny.✌️🌻💛
I grew up in the Charlotte area in NC AND Concord area so hearing your accent is so comforting and reminds me of my family❤

When I was a little girl we would always go to Dollywood for my birthday and it's been a yearly tradition! My parents love Cades Cove and I remember screaming and begging to please not go drive for hours in Cades Cove. Ugh I hated it! But now being an adult it is something else to see the wildlife, homes and the church! The church is now my favorite part of going to Tennessee😊
Crazy story though, about 5 years go we were leaving Cades Cove and I saw 3 kids on the side of the road and I told my dad to turn around because they were crying. He turned around and they were on a side road that goes into a ranger station I guess, but they had lost there entire family and little sister in the woods and it was getting dark! As we were standing with them we called for help, prayed with them and tried to keep them calm. They were all under 12 years old. We saw a mama bear, daddy bear and 3 cubs walk up from the direction there family was in. Long story short after 2 hours of waiting with them they finally came running out of the woods and we loaded them all up in the truck and had to drive them 1 hour back up the mountain to there car. They ended up telling us that they were following a map for a hike and one little girl had to potty so her and her dad stepped off the side and everyone kept walking and they got split up and of course all of the phones were dead. They were covered in mud and tears. It was the most insane thing I have ever encountered but I am so glad I noticed those kids crying instead of some crazies!
oh my goodness, Maddy! What a story and I am so glad that you had a watchful eye out so that YOU were the one who saw them.
I am sure it was a comfort for them that you stopped, helped and prayed with them.

I so much enjoy your videos!! I know what you mean about Pigeon Forge. 😅 My husband and I got married in 1991 and spent our honeymoon in Gatlinburg but decided to also go to Pigeon Forge. This was in March and there was Nothing there. It was so quiet. It was beautiful. It was back before Dollywood stayed open all year I think. We have been back many times since then but we still talk about how greatly different it is now. Thank you for being so creative and sharing with us. I love how you appreciate history. I shared your videos with my sister. She graduated high school in 91 as well. Sending love from Georgia.

Yay! Another chit chat. I love Tennessee.
I’d been up to Pigeon Forge several times throughout my childhood, but I discovered a couple years back when we went up for a friend’s wedding at a cabin in Gatlinburg that I’m getting much more prone to carsickness as I get older! It had been so long since I’d been up there and I’d never had any problems before so I didn’t know to take anything ahead of time, and driving up those windy roads up the mountain, I felt SO awful, I just sat and cried in the passenger seat 😂 bless his heart, my poor husband kept asking if I wanted him to stop and pull over, but I just kept saying, “no, I want out of this car! I don’t want it to take any longer to get there than it has to!”
Btw - I’ve been wanting to ask you if you’ve ever been to Epic Chophouse up in Mooresville. My husband and I are big into NASCAR and so when we’ve gone to races within driving distance of Charlotte, we’ll usually stay there and then go around to the different race shops and whatnot. But we always make a point to go eat there when we’re in the area, and if you have never been, you have to go try it out! Far and away the best steak either of us have ever had, without a doubt! I could drool just thinking about it now, oh my, it is so wonderful! We’re actually coming for a race in October, and I am counting down the days already!

Oh my goodness! I hate that you get motion sickness now. I feel your pain as I used to get it REALLY bad when I was younger. I hope it is a passing issue and goes away.
I have never been to the Epic Chophouse! I will make a point to go up there and try it someday.
We used to have so much fun going to the races when our kids were younger. I haven't been to one in years. I mean, if I can't holler "Go Dale!" what's the point in going? ; )

this was so soothing and entertaning, i have been down to Gatliburg and Pigeon Forge, TN, went there for our honeymoon and this summer in June, we rented a cabin which is a must for me, we love those cabins we love the looks and locations, the mountains are my favorite part we love the Smoky Mountains, our second favorite part was Dolly Partons splash country water park, we loved it but our daughter which is 2.5 years old loved it more, so much fun down there and the sights are beautiful, so much to do down there in those parts you will never be disappointed, much love from an Ohioan

I LOVE Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg! I have memories of traveling with my youth group in Florida to go on ski trips to Ober Gatlinburg! And now that I live in the midwest, my family still lives in Florida so Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is a perfect place to meet up in a mountain cabin for holidays!

Wow, Lindy! My car does the same thing! An hour ago, I just had to cut back some overgrown lilac at my garage that was causing my car to lock down the brakes when I backed out. Sounds like you had a great time in the Great Smokies, still my favorite section of the Appalachians.

I’m a northerner whose dad grew up in McMinnville, Tn. That said, I’ve never set foot in Tennessee. The closest I get to Tn is watching the Titans play football. 😊
