Hoped you can do a review of Batman Noel next and compare to some Batman's like the original Page Punchers and Superman's particularly DC Classics and original
I was also thrown by the asymmetrical point on the wired cape, until I tried to recreate that cover with the gargoyle. It perfectly (but not easily) wraps into the accessory-holding hand. The hand kept popping off of the wrist joint when trying to get the wire inside the curled fingers. Leaving it off the joint first and then working the wire into shape before putting the had back on worked out better.
I had to do something similar with my figure photography for this video, where I'd pose the figure how I wanted and THEN put the head on. Otherwise it would fall off while I was posing
The capes and heads may look similar, but when you analyze it carefully you can see some differences, mainly in the head, the McFarlane one is roundier, which could be a modification for the articulation, but you can see the jaw is a little bit higher and the cheeks are a bit more present Although, now that I’ve seen the reference images, I get where you’re going, a bit too much of a coincidence… they may well be retools with slight modifications
You're welcome! I try really hard to think of what I would want to see if I were watching a video, and that just made sense. Honestly I could have probably also done Hush and Three Jokers as well, but this video went waaaaaay overtime behind the scenes and I just really needed it done.
Honestly I think the Mezco Supreme Knight Batman did a better job at the two separate capes. The only tricky thing was getting the cape perfectly aligned around the magnet on his body. Overall it’s a great figure, especially if like a modern take on DKR Batman.
Holy cow thats alot of head sculpts to try on. Great job and a very nice surprise. Oh and I believe and I could be wrong but I think that weird flap on the cape is supposed to be held in Batmans hand as if he jumping down from the Eagle statue and holding the cape sorta to use the cape as a parachute. I didn't explain it well but I hope u get the drift. As if he 's holding the corner of his cape while falling.
I also saw this and went "THERE'S a good Porter JLA Batman!" and am glad to have gotten it. The cowl popping off was disappointing, but since I just have him posed with my other JLA figures it's not too bothersome. I agree he was overpriced but am still glad it was released at all.
Your videos make.me smile. Thank-you for helping me start my day with a smile. I'm not in mcfarlane figures anymore. But watch these videos just to hear you and for that every now and then that your face makes a cameo. Thank you again.
Bought the Knightfall battle damaged Batman, because with the torn suit, gritted teeth and stubble. He looks like The Last Arkham Batman by Breyfogle. This figure looks good though, but yeah, that color.
I'm glad I have it for possible future JLA display possibilities and for head swaps (I also like the gas mask now that I heated it up) but it's far from my favorite Batman this year.
Weird request; any way to see the AC 1000 Walmart Excluisve Superman head on the Ultraman/Superman 2 pack Superman body?? Trying to see if the skin tones match, thank you!!
Was really hoping this fig would be good but the price and how mcfarlane made the capes really isnt doing it for me. Its cool how the cloth cape has that point to help it cover the entire figures body, but it just looks weird when its just pointing out and the cape in regular poses, and the plastic one looks dope but there really isnt a need for it to be an action figure when you can get the statue instead imo, 1/3 ar challenge stars for me tho.
If you do get the platinum noel batman can you compare the colors with the blue and grey batman hush? I want to know if the blues match so I can give hush batman proper treaded boots.
Ya, I definitely have some mixed feelings. Your review made me think I might just be happier with it being left in the box. And, those video game-looking Justice League?! As soon as I saw them, I thought of how I keep passing up the Digital Justice graphic novel at my LCS because I can't bring myself to buy it for my collection. Also, been meaning to ask: How do I remove the other style heads?! I'm doing a custom to make a Batman Returns out of the Flash movie body and a custom head, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to remove that head/neck!
@jeffbrady4769 Thanks. It's one of those things I kept googling. But, the exact combination of words wasn't clear enough and it was just telling me how to take off the regular peg heads.
@@Krisfit138the way those parts are molded together and glued make it very difficult to separate. It requires a lot of patience, hard work, and a few burns on your fingers, unfortunately.
@jeffbrady4769 No pain, no nerdy gain (I guess). I think my long-term want for an affordable, normal-sized Batman Returns figure might just outweigh the struggle.
I gotta admit that I'm kind of disappointed with this figure. The posed cape is pretty much useless unless you basically want a statue. And the wired cape is a bit too unmanageable for my taste. Also the fact that both capes pop off way too easily and the color is inaccurate to the source material, leaves me slightly wishing I'd passed on this one. It's still a cool figure, but just not quite what I was expecting.
I don’t understand why mcfarlane doesn’t just make a 💯 % accurate classic DC figures. He is always changing something on the figures. The texture on the figures are not good at all.

My Batman Noel hasn't shipped yet, but I will do the video as soon as it gets here
The better question is, can McFarlane action figure-ize MORE Black & White statues?
What would some of your picks be?
@5POAFigureReviews Mazzuchelli, Kelly Jones, Mike Mignola Alex Ross.
@@robseman5212 Brian Bolland Batman, Bermejo Joker

I was also excited for this figure before I saw how easy the cowl/cape comes off. Perhaps the points (which I love) could have been hinged???
That could be interesting
I didnt knew i would like to sse the gas mask on the knightfall head till you showed it, thanks allot

I knew the head sculpt was TOO good to be an original Toddy Mac joint.

Based on another comment I got I think you are correct about that! Glad you enjoyed the swaps!

Batman with head launching action!
Ha!

Thanks so much! Your comment made my day
I'm definitely going glue down that soft goods cape
That would be the one for me too if I did it

That's a really interesting connection I had not made
Excellent job 👏🦇
Thank you!
Can you please include red hood from the new 52 to every comparison, thank youu so much
Rigamarole done ✅...im on the fence about this guy 🤔 ... Kinda cool

You talked me into it 😂😂😂

Look for my BvS Superman vs Doomsday video and I will do it there for ya

Truly the Batman Year Two release of its day
Indeed. I really should have made that comparison

You bet
The head really reminds me of the old legends of the batman card art and toys
I can see it!
Was hoping for a review on this guy, mostly for the head swaps. Was never a big fan of that head.
I appreciate the likeness but I don't like how the ears blend into the rest of the cowl
Playability should be lower imo, the cape falling off whenever you raise the arms really impacts the fun factor.

You have to heat up the plastic, either with a hair dryer, or holding it in boiling water.

I do wonder how they would handle a Scarface figure though.

Glad I didn’t get this one. It’s double price, with the extra cape too.
I'm glad I got it, but I can't say I am not let down
I always hated the horns on the shoulders of the cape.
It really just depends on the artist and the specific piece of art for me, but in general I can do without them
Day 133 of asking for bane the musical
If it makes you feel better, I do finally have a solid idea for how to approach it.
