Welcome to Babymetal. I have to grumble just a bit first, :) Babymetal is not Korean. They are Japanese. It's a very common mistake so you are definitely not the only one that made it. It just seems its one of those things a person should look up before assuming. OK, enough of my grumbling. I think if you go back and watch again you will see there is backup singing. There isn't much in this song but it's there. They echo "matsuri da" at the beginning of the chorus. If you like F-Hero, you should definitely check out his new song "Leave it all Behind". That is a great collaboration, better than PA PA YA i'd say and also includes Babymetal.
Japanese Kawaii (Cute) Metal they invented. The other girls are singing background vocals, you can see the singer sing like 2 words in one part pulls the mic away and the other 2 sing the next part.
Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. They are very Japanese. 😁 At the moment of the live performance used in this music video (2019), BABYMETAL was Su-metal (real name Suzuka Nakamoto) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi). The third lady was a backup dancer from a group of three known as "Avengers". The one in this music video was Kano Fujihira (not Riho Sayashi). The third avenger was Momoko Okazaki who finally became an official member (stage name Momometal) in April 2023. Yes, I know, it's confusing. Anyway, they are very diverse musically as they don't hesitate to mix any music genre with metal and they are very unpredictable. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁 Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey! 🤘🦊
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥 Nice song to start your BM journey, isn't an unusual reaction but isn't so recommended either, regardless you're gonna surprise with this group in every song, sometimes you'll feel heavier, sometimes more poppy or just different like this one. They recently did another collab along with Bodyslam called Leave It All Behind so that's another cool song for you to enjoy while is hot. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop (not Kpop) with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. About the song: You're jumping into Metal Galaxy 2019 album. Last year fans at Bangkok had a blast with this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this 2019 live version in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist. F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used as an ingredient in a popular Thai salad. It's a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, and fans of all generations enjoyed at the recent World Tour 2023, and we're definitely gonna see more this year. If you want another rare live performance with Latin rhythm vibes you got "Night Night Burn" live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, or with Indian influence like "Shanti Shanti Shanti" official MV, better yet if you look for "folky" vibes then you got "Oh! MAJINAI" ft. Joakim Brodem live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 or Budokan 2021. This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun. The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena, Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, luckily he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them had mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status recently changed in April when one of them, MomoMetal, became a new official member, but again the one you saw in this clip is Kano-chan. When reacting to Babymetal, always expect the unexpected. They cannot be boxed in, pigeon-holed or predicted as no two songs are alike. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
This is such a great song, and has turned out to be one of the most popular from the album it was released on, for obvious reasons lol. F. Hero (the F stands for a naughty four-letter word in English) is the perfect addition to this, and the song is a tribute to Thailand. The subject is just enjoying life, and summer parties. I think they're referring to a papaya salad which is very popular in Thailand, and the lyrics are all about grabbing your bathing suit, a picnic basket and all and heading out to enjoy the summer. BTW, if you can find the actual live performance at which this was taped, it's even more enjoyable. The atmosphere and live vocal performances are wild, and brilliant. Oh, and if you want to see some more of F. Hero's music, I can recommend his collaboration with another Thai female rapper called Milli and a Korean called Changbin, who are also very talented. Their song is called Mirror Mirror. All the best to you Rebeka, and enjoy your journey through the wonderful world of Babymetal!
Welcome to the deep foxhole that is Babymetal. And there's so much more to discover where this comes from if you like rock/metal. The best comment I've ever read on this is the following... _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ ※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ Babymetal ※ etc.
Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 Make no mistake, BABYMETAL are Metal ... just not as you may know it. Metal didn't start out with people growling, screaming and puking into the microphone, that is something that has become more prevalent in the last 20 or so years. It used to have some melody. BABYMETAL were the breath of fresh air that was needed and they brought melody back to metal. They are the most successful Japanese band internationally there has been (not Korean - it upsets some people when people mistake their nationality) and they sing predominantly in Japanese - but don't worry about that, they can make you feel all sorts of emotions and almost understanding what they are singing about even if you don't understand a word. As Su-metal (the lead singer) once said when she was first appreciating what metal is all about "Don't think. Feel." You can always check the lyrics before or after you watch them - or ask us to explain the song in the comments. There is nobody quite like BABYMETAL. They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a school themed JPop Idol group (they were aged 12 and 11 at the time) and created their own metal sub-genre mixing Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics. They separated from the parent group in 2013 and have been touring the world every year (when they could) since 2014. We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet. BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist and the whole concept was formed and developed around her vocal talents and stage presence - she is exceptionally talented), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo). Watch again, you will see and hear Moametal's backing vocals (the third girl in this video was a dancer filling in the third spot vacated the year before by the original third member - I will tell you about her in a moment). The backing vocals are the parts the crowd will sing along with and they are a huge part of what sets BABYMETAL apart from other bands. The original third member, Yuimetal, last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until she announced in October 2018 that she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band. After Yui left Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo through to and a bit beyond their 10th anniversary. So it was just the two of them for 4 or 5 years supported from 2019 by 3 dancers who would take turns dancing in the third spot until 1st April 2023 when one of those dancers, Momoko, was finally revealed as the new official third member. They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band, all of them are world class instrumentalists. Since 2019 they have two Kami Bands, the Kami Band of the East (the best Japanese session musicians you could ask for) have been with them since 2012 and full time since early 2014. The Kami Band of the West (American musicians) joined them in 2019 and have been the full time support for the lengthier tours around the world (they played nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries last year). You will only see and hear the Kami Band in live performances, they do not record the studio versions (with one guitarist being the known exception). They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - usually when you least expect it. Their official videos are all very good, but live BABYMETAL is best. I'm sure you already have and will get some great suggestions for more songs. Some are straight metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. All you can be sure of is that they will surprise you every time, you will not be able to predict what you will see or hear from them next. Expect the unexpected. 'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and they're going hard singing and dancing about a spicy Thai papaya fruit salad.🥝 Such a good live song, it really gets the whole crowd jumping and waving towels round their heads (Su, Moa and Momoko love to see everybody doing that and we love to see them happy, so everybody brings or buys a towel specially for this song). F Hero is a rapper from Thailand. He flew in to Japan specially to perform on the first two nights of BABYMETAL's 2019 tour (that was where he was filmed - this is the official video so the audio is from the studio recording - there is a video with the live audio around and it is even better). They performed in Bangkok in Thailand as part of their world tour last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance. F Hero was rapping in this song to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle. They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices in the right amounts into life will make that better too.🦊🤘
Thank you for all of the information. They sound like a great journey to go on. I'm definitely going to be listening to more. Most metal I've listed to previous has been symphonic with a bit of power metal, so this caught me off guard. But I love it. That's so cool how the rapper is going to the rhythm of mixing ingredients. Such a fun detail for them to include.
@@rebekareacts Hey, your taste in metal is very similar to mine 🙂 And certainly Babymetal perfectly hits the right spot as far as my hard rock tastes. I love the idea of gritty, hard-driving guitar music sweetened by beautiful vocals, very much like a great food recipe in which you have unexpected taste profiles coming together to make a truly delicious dish, to horribly abuse a metaphor lol.
Welcome to the foxhole. Nice reaction. Babymetal is a journey through the metal galaxy of music. I know it seems like Moa didn't sing much here. But one of the reasons she is in the group is because of her compatible voice to Su. Which says a lot about her singing talent. Su was born with more talent than humanly possible. And now she has added the skills to go along with it. Every song they sing is different but somehow maintains an overall Babymetal sound to it. I call it Babymetal magic. As many have said in the past "This shouldn't work" and yet it does. suggest reacting to their first song Doki Doki Morning to get a feel for just how diverse Babymetal can get. And their Kawaii power. Truly is something to behold. Their commanding stage presence from the beginning is outstanding. Babymetal, the foxhole is deep and full of surprises. See You
🤘🦊🤘 K-POP❌ J-POP/Metal/most type of music in a blend✅ - Been a fan since I saw them live in Germany 2016, even been to Japan twice just to see them. Enjoy your journey, if you stick to it you will have a blast.
Welcome to the world of Babymetal. Just one small correction, they had 3 dancers, one of whom would join Su and Moa for a performance at that stage of their career. Riho, Kano, and Momoko. Momo would eventually become a third member; but in this performance, it's Kano on stage, not Riho. I know, so easy to get them mixed up. Good reaction. F. Hero recently invited Babymetal and Thai band Bodyslam and you might want to check that song out, Leave It All Behind.
Yes this is a song about a papaya dessert that is popular in Thailand, they also have a song called “give me chocolate “ and another about bubblegum (awadama fever)…but they also have a song called “ Babymetal death”…all deserve a listen, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by many of their other songs as well, I would love to see your reactions to more Babymetal songs❤
I'm pretty sure I've heard "Give Me Chocolate" somewhere before. But I will definitely check all of these out. I'm anxious to get back to reacting to these awesome gals.
Welcome to the Foxhole and the wonderful world of happy metal that is BABYMETAL! 🤘🦊🤘 Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information. BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal are: Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls. Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Yui-bot, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks. Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs. ** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal). Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts. Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs. Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Momo-Monster, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot! Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch. BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows. AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021. They were: Momoko Okazaki (see above). Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist. Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive. We are #notacult. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
No Koreans where harmed or even used during this concert. I know that you know that koreans are not the only asians that exist, we all make small mistakes like this. 😁
Well F. Hero is a famous Rapper from Thailand and he just release a small Collaboration with The Thai Rock Legend Bodyslam and Babymetal that seems to target the Title Single of the Year. Babymetal currently has a slight King Midas Problem. Everything they Touch becomes Gold. And since they have their own Audience 40% females and all ages between 5 and 85 their title of International most successful japanese Band seems to be safe. In the beginning of last year it was unklar if they would still have their Fanbase, due to their big successes now they got their pld titles back from Metalverse and seem to be one of the biggest Hits for Amuse. Not Bad for a privat side project of one Mabager abd Amuse dud everything to sabotage this group.
Moa makes Background Vocals in Certain Songs. Avengers can't sing. No Mike since April 2023 Momoko became the third Vabymetal, now she is allowed to sing and Vabymetal Fans are now waiting for their 5th Album where we all expect more Singing from Moa and Momo.
Welcome to Babymetal. I have to grumble just a bit first, :) Babymetal is not Korean. They are Japanese. It's a very common mistake so you are definitely not the only one that made it. It just seems its one of those things a person should look up before assuming. OK, enough of my grumbling.

Nice song to start your BM journey, isn't an unusual reaction but isn't so recommended either, regardless you're gonna surprise with this group in every song, sometimes you'll feel heavier, sometimes more poppy or just different like this one.
This is J-Pop/Metal Fusion. But that fusion manifests differently across their vast catalogue of songs. Enjoy the journey.
👍 👍 👍 So much joy, fun and energy. I love the way Su sings “brrrrrrrrring it”. Welcome to the foxhole. 🦊🦊🦊 🖖 ❤
_____________________
_"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_
※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ Babymetal ※ etc.
Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊
Make no mistake, BABYMETAL are Metal ... just not as you may know it.
Feel."
You can always check the lyrics before or after you watch them - or ask us to explain the song in the comments.
'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and they're going hard singing and dancing about a spicy Thai papaya fruit salad.🥝
Such a good live song, it really gets the whole crowd jumping and waving towels round their heads (Su, Moa and Momoko love to see everybody doing that and we love to see them happy, so everybody brings or buys a towel specially for this song).
@@rebekareacts You're welcome - and you will find something of everything in what they do - expect the unexpected, they are never boring.
BABYMETAL is a fusion of J-pop and heavy metal.
See You
This is Japanese METAL !
This is not K POP !
I apologize. It was recommended to me as KPOP. Either way it is awesome!
🤘🦊🤘 K-POP❌ J-POP/Metal/most type of music in a blend✅ - Been a fan since I saw them live in Germany 2016, even been to Japan twice just to see them. Enjoy your journey, if you stick to it you will have a blast.
ようこそBABYMETALへ🤘🦊♪
😂K-pop would never go this hard~!
BABYMETALをありがとう!
🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵
Welcome to the world of Babymetal.
Thanks for the great info. I will def check out that song.
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
Babymetal are:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Yui-bot, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul).
They were:
Momoko Okazaki (see above).
🤘🦊🤘🎌
No Koreans where harmed or even used during this concert.
I know that you know that koreans are not the only asians that exist, we all make small mistakes like this. 😁
Tthey are not k-pop at all . Japanese musicsean is so different Korean musicsean .
but I'm so happy . you discover babymetal. They are so cool !!
🤘🦊🤘
It's straight up metal with j-pop elements
Moa makes Background Vocals in Certain Songs. Avengers can't sing. No Mike since April 2023 Momoko became the third Vabymetal, now she is allowed to sing and Vabymetal Fans are now waiting for their 5th Album where we all expect more Singing from Moa and Momo.
