Greetings from Guatemala. What an amazing Collection! My family and I love all the Tolkien world. I'm a small LOTR collector. Congratulations on you collection !
Your collection is beyond amazing. I’m not a huge LOTR fan, but doesn’t mean I’m not blown away by your collection. Your old school display cabinets are so elegant too, goes with the theme perfectly. Love all that wall art as well. Nice large area too. Your collection is perfect. I read all the other comments and some say your room is too small or that the cabinets are too low, etc. I completely disagree, I wouldn’t change a thing, You have the perfect display room. The swords props go very well with your statues, paints, etc. It feels like one of those Oxford libraries with museum quality touches. I wouldn’t change a bloody thing. As I said, this is one darn elegant collectible display room.
I love your collection and your room/museum!! This is amazing. I love watching collection tours especially LOTR, Marvel, etc. I want to go in a museum like yours!!
Fantastic collection. Was like walking around in a real LOTR museum. I collect mostly props (armor/weapons) I'll send you an email about an interesting proposition to add to your collection. Thanks for the great video!
Phenomenal collection! You can tell how much care went into it all. Any chance you can share where you got those big glass displays. Don’t remember if you mention it in the video or not but they are perfect for that kind of set up
Great update Ben, your collection is huge and very well displayed. You have a few grails hidden about that I'm rather envious of. Look forward to seeing more in the future.
Thanks N2Darkness!! I appreciate it and hope to have a custom piece made by you in the collection by the next update. Please, let me know if you are making any extras for sale.
Excellent collection. I repurposed an old TV cabinet to hold my Gandalf /Frodo in Cart , only cost $200. I'm hoping Weta will do a Dwarven war chariot. Did you have any problems with the Balrog head flame not being very bright ?
Thank you for your comment. I would love to see the repurposed TV cabinet for Gandalf. I hope they make a war chariot too. I find if my Balrog bust stays on too long the light just freezes on. The brightest seems to be consistent.
Thank you!! I buy alot of them direct from www.wetanz.com . The sold out pieces, I find on Ebay, Craigslist, Offerup, and the Lord of the Rings collector page on Facebook.
You have a great collection ! I feel like the room is too small for the display... If you could have separate rooms and to put your items by theme, swords and such together and figures in another.
Thanks for checking it out and for your comment. One of my favorite parts of the collection is the intermingling of the different collectibles. I do agree, that I need a bigger space to display it.
@@BenjaminSchenk Aaa very well then ! I guess it is dependent on who likes what. I understand you ! In my small collection, I have everthing in "order" of what is what, types of book editions, types of figures, etc. I must confess that my collection isn't as massive as yours, hence the fact I don't have to deal with the room capacity that you must take into consideration. Cheers !
I just love the look of the older cases. It gives the collection a great feel. I also like the fact that some of the cases are over 100 years old and served many other purposes before making it to my collection.
It may be worth considering getting some way of lifting all your cabinets 3feet off the ground so ALL of your beautiful pieces can be seen without having to duck down. I did this with my collection and used some nice cupboards that house some of the collections boxes etc. I'm lazy at heart I admit it :) but just being able to walk up to the cabinet and see the figures at eye height is so much better. Out of curiosity... do you have a favorite piece?
I like this idea but not sure how it would work out. I also like to see the art on the walls. It is something to consider though. Thank you. My favorite piece is life-size Gandalf and my favorite 1/6 scale piece is Azog the defiler on warg. The lifesize Gandalf is in my living room as it will not fit down the stairs to my basement.
@@BenjaminSchenk I would loose hours every day in there. You really have collected an amazing range of figures. I treasure my collection which is nothing compared to yours. Sir, you absolutely rock!. I enjoy all of your videos.
Where did you get the rings? The 7 dwarven rings, the 9 rings of men and the 3 elven rings? I really hope you will answer me and give me a hand in the serch of the rings! :)
I bought them from Badali jewelry. They are custom made pieces. Here is the website. badalijewelry.com/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=Lord%20of%20the%20rings*
Awesome collection! I'm on the fence about purchasing the Gollum statue from the masters collection. How do you feel about that piece? I've also debated on the gandalf and frodo ststue from masters collection. Price is pretty steep on both.
Thank you! I am a big fan of all 3 of the Weta Master Collection pieces so far. The Gollum has amazing detail and is a true masterpiece. I think the $1799 original MSRP was a little steep but you can find it for less, lots of places now. I bought it for $1000 and am very happy with it. If I was only going to get one MC piece it would be Gollum. The other two are awesome too but require lots of room to display and are not as detailed as Gollum.
@@BenjaminSchenk thanks for the reply. Yes I found a gollum for around that price. The frodo and gandalf is still at retail which is a lot. Hard decisions. Leaning towards gollum atm. Are you planning to get any of the new prime 1 pieces?
@@Razor_Collectibles28 I currently have preordered all the Prime 1 pieces that have come up. I am excited for another 1/4 scale line. I am hopeful they will do the whole fellowship and not leave us hanging like the Sideshow premium format line did. I am really excited to see a Gimli, Boromir, and the hobbits. I hope they do them all!!
@@BenjaminSchenk 100% agree. I've pre ordered the Sauron so far. The Balrog is tempting but those pieces are huge! I will be pre ordering the legolas as well! And yes, we need a full fellowship line. Gimli is a must. I have a few of the sideshow PFs, so just looking to complete most of the fellowship.
I'm just getting into starting my own LOTR collection. Are there any that you recommend I start out with? I'm currently trying to find a reasonably priced Sideshow Weta Balrog (2002) but not having much luck.
I would start with whatever you can find and feel comfortable paying for. I never try to seek a piece because I usually overpay then. I look to buy collections when the option arises. I will sell or trade off the other pieces that I do not need. The OG Balrog is a tricky one to find but check eBay and the many other selling platforms. You will find one at some point that is reasonable. Good luck and happy collecting.
