The melody immediately takes you back in time! I think I haven't heard it for at least 25 years, but 5 seconds were enough to bring tears to my eyes! Simply unbelievable!
I feel the same! I grew up around jazz, my dads a musician and owned a few real estate companies but he played lots of cool music, he wasn't sure about rap though or heavy metal lol, but having six kids, we all had our favorite music and some of us played musical instruments. One of my brothers was a heavy metal drummer and played at the Troubadour in L.A. a few times. I was totally into heavy metal but loved alternative rock, too. We were lucky we each had all kinds of electronics to play our music (my poor parents, lol).. but this from LL COOL J is still one of the best rap ballad love songs to this day. 😁
I think everyone that grew up to this song knows the entire song by heart ❤️. When music was good. In my opinion the '80s and '90s will always have the best music 💯

i was born in the early 2000s, and i'd have to agree with most of these people here. rap and hip-hop today is nowhere near as good as old-school. i'm young, and i wasn't born during the time this song came out, but i'm blessed to have been exposed to it. i'd have to thank my parents for that.
Wow! I remember hearing this song for the first time around '87 when I was in 4th grade! This is what you call the Golden Age of Rap! Nothing trashy or derivative about! Pure originality and coolness. What really caught my attention was the innocence and cheeriness of all of those young kids in the crowd; it was like they had just witnessed something from another world and better place. Thank you L.L. Cool J.
When I'm alone in my room Sometimes I stare at the wall And in the back of my mind I hear my conscience call Telling me I need a girl who's as sweet as a dove For the first time in my life, I see I need love There I was, giggling about the games That I had played with many hearts and I'm not saying no names Then the thought occurred, Tear drops made my eyes burn As I said to myself, "Look what you've done to her" I can feel it inside, I can't explain how it feels All I know is that I'll never dish another raw deal Playing make believe, pretending that I'm true Holding in my laugh as I say that I love you Saying amore, kissing you on the ear Whispering "I love you" and "I'll always be near" Although I often reminisce, I can't believe that I've found A desire for true love, floating around Inside my soul, because my soul is cold One half of me deserves to be this way till I'm old But the other half, needs affection and joy And the warmth that is created by a girl and a boy I need love I need love Romance, sheer delight, how sweet I've got to find me a girl to make my life complete You can scratch my back, we'll get cozy and huddle I'll lay down my jacket so you can walk over a puddle Give you a rose, pull out your chair before we eat Kiss you on the cheek and say "Ooh girl, you're so sweet" It's De Ja Vu, whenever I'm with you I can go on forever telling you what I'll do But where you at? You're neither here nor there I swear, I can't find you anywhere Damn sure you ain't in my closet, or under my rug This love search, is really making me bugged And if you know who you are, why don't you make yourself seen? Take a chance with my love and you'll find out what I mean Fantasies can run, but they can't hide And when I find you I'ma pour all my love inside I need love I need love I wanna kiss you, hold you, never scold you, just love you Suck on your neck, caress you and rub you Grind, mold, and never be alone If you're not standing next to me you're on the phone Can't you hear it in my voice? I need love bad I've got money but love's something I never had I need your ruby red lips, sweet face and all I love you more than a man, who's ten feet tall I watch the sun rise, in your eyes We're so in love, when we hug, we become paralyzed Our bodies explode in extacy unreal You're as soft as a pillow and I'm as hard as steel It's like a dream land, I can't lie, I've never been there Maybe this is an experience that me and you can share Clean and unsoiled, yet sweaty and wet I swear to you, this is something I'll never forget I need love I need love See what I mean? I've changed, I'm no longer A playboy on the run, I need something that's stronger Friendship, trust, honor respect, admiration This whole experience has been such a revelation It's taught me love, and how to be a real man To always be considerate and do all I can Protect you, you're my lady and you mean so much My body tingles all over with the slightest touch Of your hand, and understand, I'll be frozen in time Till we meet face to face and you tell me you're mine If I find you girl, I swear I'll be a good man I'm not gonna leave it, in destiny's hand I can't sit and wait, for my princess to arrive I gotta struggle and fight, to keep my dream alive I'd search the whole world for that special girl And when I finally find you, watch our love unfurl I need love I need love Girl, listen to me. When I be sitting in my room, all alone, staring at the wall, Fantasies, they go through my mind. And, I've come to realize that, I need true love. And if you want to give it to me girl, make yourself seen. I'll be waiting, I love you.

I was born in 95 and I'm 20 years old and I feel like the 80's and 90's was the best time to be alive because of hip hop sports and everything it's like that time frame was so dope.. Just look at how everybody dressed and listen to the music..

@@kensley94 exactly. This is as crazy new when Fantasy by Old dirty Bastard came out w mariah carey AND Maria Carey's team said it was bad for her image. And she ended up making the first R n B mixed w Hip Hop. Her Team didn't believe in it and the song became number 1 on the billboards for I think a month
@@DeathHelper420 What? Mariah Carey's "Fantasy" ended up becoming the "first R&B mixed with hip hop'?? That song came out in 1995. Keith Sweat's "Why Me Baby" featuring LL came out all the way back in 1992. I can name about 10 other songs of the R&B-hip hop combo that preceded the release of Fantasy.
In real life she(he) was - with all honesty- in fact, born a male. Justin O'Neil, not Jessica O'Neil, but what does it matter with such genuine NATURAL BEAUTY- thats the magic of LOVE ?
L.L. Cool J is a true gentleman. A perfect example of what us men should be. What a Charismatic person!!! He's singing about someone's daughter, and sister. This would be my idea brother n law.
Sadly he was everything but a gentleman, listen carefully to this song and what he actually is saying, and you'll find the real meaning and reason why he did this.
Mr.LL Cool J, I love you. This song bring back memories. This was one of the best songs as it meant the world to me. It is filled with pasdion, compassion and most Importantly, LOVE. YOU ARE a blessing to women everywhere. And I Thank you for sharing your gift with the world 💜😷💎
Love is the gentle whisper of the heart, a timeless symphony that binds souls in an eternal embrace. It is the sunrise that paints the sky in hues of hope and the moonlight that casts a silver glow on shared dreams. Love is the tender touch that speaks volumes without a word, the silent understanding that transcends time and space. It is the laughter that fills the air with joy and the quiet moments of togetherness that create a haven of peace. Love is the melody that plays softly in the background of our lives, guiding us through the peaks and valleys with unwavering grace.

I'm a white boy from Louisiana and I'm 45 going to be 46 I got so much play off of that song props to you LL! 🤝🤜🤛😎
Why can't there be more music like this then now 🤔
Jessica Molina women nowdays don't deserve this kinda empowerment
Jessica Molina g shit
Because you didn't finish your milk.
Rolando Las del recuerdo yeah
Men too
Timeless classic here ll killed this and been a legend for years 😊🔥🔥🔥💯👏 this amazing
i was born in the early 2000s, and i'd have to agree with most of these people here. rap and hip-hop today is nowhere near as good as old-school. i'm young, and i wasn't born during the time this song came out, but i'm blessed to have been exposed to it. i'd have to thank my parents for that.
sierra leigh same im 14 and im still arguing with ppl about how much better this is
I Salute You!!!! Thanks for that RESPECT!!!
100% simple I'm 18 and this still tight.
Respect to all who enjoy old school.
I was in that time i agree the music back then was way better than now
Grew up listening to this 80s
Cool J.
the production on this song is incredible. you can pump it to max volume and its still crisp and clean
When I'm alone in my room
Sometimes I stare at the wall
And in the back of my mind
I hear my conscience call
Telling me I need a girl who's as sweet as a dove
For the first time in my life, I see I need love
There I was, giggling about the games
That I had played with many hearts and I'm not saying no names
Then the thought occurred, Tear drops made my eyes burn
As I said to myself, "Look what you've done to her"
I can feel it inside, I can't explain how it feels
All I know is that I'll never dish another raw deal
Playing make believe, pretending that I'm true
Holding in my laugh as I say that I love you
Saying amore, kissing you on the ear
Whispering "I love you" and "I'll always be near"
Although I often reminisce, I can't believe that I've found
A desire for true love, floating around
Inside my soul, because my soul is cold
One half of me deserves to be this way till I'm old
But the other half, needs affection and joy
And the warmth that is created by a girl and a boy
I need love
I need love
Romance, sheer delight, how sweet
I've got to find me a girl to make my life complete
You can scratch my back, we'll get cozy and huddle
I'll lay down my jacket so you can walk over a puddle
Give you a rose, pull out your chair before we eat
Kiss you on the cheek and say "Ooh girl, you're so sweet"
It's De Ja Vu, whenever I'm with you
I can go on forever telling you what I'll do
But where you at? You're neither here nor there
I swear, I can't find you anywhere
Damn sure you ain't in my closet, or under my rug
This love search, is really making me bugged
And if you know who you are, why don't you make yourself seen?
Take a chance with my love and you'll find out what I mean
Fantasies can run, but they can't hide
And when I find you I'ma pour all my love inside
I need love
I need love
I wanna kiss you, hold you, never scold you, just love you
Suck on your neck, caress you and rub you
Grind, mold, and never be alone
If you're not standing next to me you're on the phone
Can't you hear it in my voice? I need love bad
I've got money but love's something I never had
I need your ruby red lips, sweet face and all
I love you more than a man, who's ten feet tall
I watch the sun rise, in your eyes
We're so in love, when we hug, we become paralyzed
Our bodies explode in extacy unreal
You're as soft as a pillow and I'm as hard as steel
It's like a dream land, I can't lie, I've never been there
Maybe this is an experience that me and you can share
Clean and unsoiled, yet sweaty and wet
I swear to you, this is something I'll never forget
I need love
I need love
See what I mean? I've changed, I'm no longer
A playboy on the run, I need something that's stronger
Friendship, trust, honor respect, admiration
This whole experience has been such a revelation
It's taught me love, and how to be a real man
To always be considerate and do all I can
Protect you, you're my lady and you mean so much
My body tingles all over with the slightest touch
Of your hand, and understand, I'll be frozen in time
Till we meet face to face and you tell me you're mine
If I find you girl, I swear I'll be a good man
I'm not gonna leave it, in destiny's hand
I can't sit and wait, for my princess to arrive
I gotta struggle and fight, to keep my dream alive
I'd search the whole world for that special girl
And when I finally find you, watch our love unfurl
I need love
I need love
Girl, listen to me.
When I be sitting in my room, all alone, staring at the wall,
Fantasies, they go through my mind.
And, I've come to realize that, I need true love.
And if you want to give it to me girl, make yourself seen.
I'll be waiting, I love you.
When RAP music was great . Im 44 years old and i still miss this era .
Same here.
@Maurice Clemons When I was a kid I use to wish to go to the future but now as a 44 year old I wish I can go back to the 80s and relive the 80s and 90s all over again. Life was better back then in my opinion. Be safe out there 🙏👍
Amen I'm 53. White. And tru RESPECT for L.L. Incredibly real.
NOT "attitude" Wrap.
Not continuously hating. I bow down.
@@mikeg.4262 Right on brother👍😎
40 here, was a boy rocking out to this, now a man who know when to put this on and slide in the shower with my girl. I respect this song for it's amazing what happens next when you play it in your 40s lol.
Young black love in the 80s. Beautiful. His lady is a true sista, sweet and pretty. No glam needed. Good ol days
L.L Cool J is rap music's first artists to come out with his own rap album. He made the way for other rappers to come in and join the industry. I need love is right. We wll need love.
LL is one of the best MC's of all time. I grew up in this era
wow this is crazy seeing how much music changed over the years. I'm sad that I didn't grow up in this era
Kodak black stole his instrumental

True classic and still on my playlist in 2020. Had a boy i knew that liked me he followed me while i was walking home on his bike singing this song to me trying to impress me back in the day lol.looking back that was so cute and brave of him. I was just so shy back then and all i could do was smile and giggle 😊Wow good memories💓🎶🔥💯
I think all the guys sang this song to the ladies back then! They weren't afraid to show their emotions.
That's soooo cool.🐿️💫

I'm lucky enough to have been around when this was out. My mates were into Elton John and queen. Thank god I choose this path. I still need love in 2021!!!!!!!
I love this song old school rap was the best.
Oi.ok
LL Cool J is the coolest rapper singer 😊
''You still love you me or not?''
''Yeah! ''
''Cool.'' LOOOOOOL THE ROMANCE IS REAL ON THAT ONE
Look how ll is putting a dark skin beuatiful woman at the fore front of his video! I love it! And this exactly why ll was my idol!
Right!!! That was 300 years ago though!!!! That time is goooooooooooone
It seemed like so long ago that dark skin women were being represented as beautiful in music videos now it just a bunch of white and mixed girls being used as props

LL COOL J energy on this track is insane! With a little guidance from the video on my channel about how artists are blowing up, he is now getting the attention he deserves
One of the dopest rap songs ever. We needed this one and it was right on time for the ladies......1~Luv
I wuz 7 years old. My brother played this awesome muziC on his record player🙌😌That’s how I heard this awesomeness and more. It wuz fantastic! Still know all the words.
Wow! He was so going when he was rapping and I believe that LL Cool J came a long way with his music since they all need love out there. LL Cool J is best known for making all of the hits for making love towards the ladies who are so fortunate and easy to get when you meet them. They need to do a tribute for LL Cool J one of these days at the Bet Awards.
Summer 87...damn this was the real!
Dang...
I was born in 95 and I'm 20 years old and I feel like the 80's and 90's was the best time to be alive because of hip hop sports and everything it's like that time frame was so dope.. Just look at how everybody dressed and listen to the music..
Q Sosa using the word dope? yousa '00 nega
+flyer boy We still say Dope in Cali, all colors.
I miss the 80's-90's rap n r&b so much better then garbage today!!!!!
THANK YOU LL for this. Makes me smile just like it did back in 87 when I was a teenager. Still kills today.

I remember when I was about 11 I used to steal this single from my sisters room listening to it over & over. I still know all the words 30 years later & still love this song.
I was 13 when this song dropped and I’m showing it to my 19 year old son now! ❤️
I was 9😂😂😂
awesome!! was 16 when this came out...just ran away from home.
Wore this tape out like there was no tomorrow. Parents listened to elevator music lol
This rapper is a lot more different then others...
Thats because hes one or even the first that mixed rap with romance and thus created rap rnb which later became very popular around 2002
Very unique
@@kensley94 note that with every "hardcore" rapper that whined about rap & r&b (or rap&bullsht)- at no point was LL EVER included in the namecalling
Can you believe this was hip-hop kids?
When videos actually had a storyline.... still one of the best rap/r&b ballads
Use to love this video.... The girl in the video was STRAIGHT UP NATURAL BEAUTY!!!!

Hairy Marbles I am a gentleman. the women I get with... tend to treat me rude. and abusive. because they don't understand what a gentleman is.
Yeah Mr. Nice guy dissing a death man AKA tupac after he passen away
