Can you please test post defense? Specifically which animations the post defense attribute is relevant. Because there’s some shots and angles and positions where having high post defense doesn’t make a difference as much as height and weight

I made a 3 & d 6’4 guard , 93 perimeter, 96 three, and I guard ball and run the offense, loving this year so far . It’s a great feeling when someone dribbles the air out the ball and Dosent get a bucket out of it .

Nah, 2k made changes revolved around making defense easier to counter all the new dribbling moves and badges. Looking at other changes you see can see more examples. Like buffing interior defense but also buffing midrange and layups.

DONT MESS UP YOUR BUILD, lateral quickness does affect lateral movement , just test build in the myplayer builder with the minimum perimeter D and then raise it significantly after , and watch how much better u move on and off ball
I made a pure offensive PG and have been really happy with how low my contests have been and how easy it is to shoot over me! I don’t deserve a contest with a 25-45 defense. Super happy with this 2k.
Definitely loving defense this year , trying to decide if I should keep fast feet at gold or do a rebirth build with it at hof 😅 , I’m also loving the layups and middies this year as well , it’s refreshing for sure 😂
The thing with me is that having a lateral quickness greater than your speed kinda just doesn’t make sense? I say this because if you have a 93 perimeter defense but like an 80 speed you should move faster laterally than running full sprint? Honestly it makes more sense that lateral movement is tied to speed and not perimeter because it’s movement, movement attributes should affect movement and perimeter should mostly be for defense but it is still tied to speed which is tied to lateral movement, this makes attributes make sense.
So which one affects your speed when you change directions while guarding the ball? Perimeter Defence or Speed? Whats the situation on a small guard with 90+ speed and 25 perimeter defense, can the guard move and change directions better then a lockdown with 99 perimeter defense?

I made about 4 different builds with different play styles and you can tell a difference in how attributes were allocated. I definitely haven’t felt the difference in literal movement with a lower or higher perimeter defense

I made big with no PerimeterD but only added 60 steal. I haven't upgraded yet but damn there's been a lot of times that the ball is right in my face and I hesitate to pressed steal cuz he looses control when you do 😅😅. I'm still bump stealing with a 25 steal tho, can't imagine having it in 60.
yes you will have a better shot contest but only your perimeter D will change it. Perimeter and interior D increase contests and block would only help getting blocks
Been like this for years in my experience u suppose to feather the left stick to make slight movements and if u get beat then u sprint to beat them to the spot. Nothing in this game really changes
Tutes, could you make a video on what determines the Standing Dunk meter green window size? Some of people including me have over 90 standing dunk with badges but with very tiny green window, but some other people seem to have a huge standing dunk meter size. Surprisingly, the standing dunk meter size might have something to do with driving dunk rating! Hope you can test this out with some other factors, and this would be an interesting video!
I don’t get why perimeter defense gives you better contests. Contest % should only be tied to height/wingspan/positioning. In real life a late/poor contest gives the same impact regardless of a players “perimeter defense”. Just have the stat only be for lateral quickness so a high rating will let you have an easier time to get in good position for contests. The added contest % just for having a high perimeter d stat is such a bailout and unrealistic.

perimeter is super crucial because it's tied to your lateral quickness, as a big you want to be at least a little capable on switches and not just get blown by every time and it barely costs anything to upgrade for bigs so it's kinda a no brained to upgrade it

I see some lying comments saying high per gives you a faster shift in change of direction which is false. That is your acceleration which also combines with how fast you can reach your max speed.
Accel affects off ball too. I’ve tested 77 to 81 accel. 81 feels much more responsive. With ball it’s quick first step. Off ball it’s reaching max speed. Swings, 81 accel is fine nothing too much lower, maybe 79. But 77 ain’t it I hate it. Speed with ball, ball handle, speed, accel, all capped at 81 feels so good.

If upgrading steal from 25 to 60 is worth it for the bronze interceptor. I know a lot of builds are doing that

I think it got hof fixed. When you go into mycareer and look at your player card, your perimeter rating now matches the lateral quickness rating

I see some lying comments saying high per gives you a faster shift in change of direction which is false. That is your acceleration which also combines with how fast you can reach your max speed.
No it's not. Acceleration only affects your first few steps with the ball. It doesn't affect movement without the ball.
Accel affects off ball too. I’ve tested 77 to 81 accel. 81 feels much more responsive. With ball it’s quick first step. Off ball it’s reaching max speed.
Swings, 81 accel is fine nothing too much lower, maybe 79. But 77 ain’t it I hate it. Speed with ball, ball handle, speed, accel, all capped at 81 feels so good.
