Good morning. Damn wish i would have stopped and talked with you at the Junk Expo. Ran into you and your wife at the bowling alley. You guys were playing Pool. Love your idea on the how to videos for you potential customer and clients. I got a little saying I lived by when I coached High School ball that I use in life abd buisness. "No One Cares How Much You Know Till They Know How Much You Care". Can't call it Knowledge unless you share. Have a great day!
Thanks! I agree, knowledge is power when you share it with others.
Cool video ! If I shrink wrap an item ,I usually put moving pads around item and then shrink wrap so if you do slid on floor it won’t scratch. I totally agree with you on moving techniques and professional moving experience helps a lot on junk removal jobs and helps avoid damage claims . And the customer may be more inclined to hire you to do a moving job or pick up and deliver some furniture. I make sure and have plenty of moving pads available.
@@GoodAttitudesServices definitely! The professionalism goes a long way for sure. We have people often say the last time they did something they sawed it in half in the room or banged up the door or something.
I used to be a Sears appliance delivery driver as a company driver and later owner Operator and the insurance for claims like scratches on Yellawood wood floors were through the roof. Some insurance companies stopped issuing claim insurance because of the high volume of claims.
I can believe it. In moving the most claimed was wall damage, floors next.
Any tips on moving a 2,000 pound oven out of a basement?
You need DOT registration to do moving.
you need dot regardless of the industry if you meet their requirements. You'll need it for moving as well if you are also doing interstate jobs.
When I speak about learning to "move" I'm regarding to the techniques to handle junk, not actually become movers.
DOT requirements are for the gross weight of a commercial vehicle. In my state any commercial vehicle hauling over 10,000 lbs gross weight. (Vehicle weight + Freight (Cargo) weight . total and if towing a trailer the combo gross weight of over 10,000 lbs is required to register with the DOT. As far as moving you may need a Household goods permit depending on your states laws . But if you’re just doing moving labor and loading rental trucks and PODS I don’t think you need a permit for Labor jobs .
