    Rather than splattering paint, try adding pepper to your clay and knead it in- this makes a super organic looking piece. Love what you’re doing!

    I truly enjoyed your video. A fine tooth comb works really well for scoring. Thank you.

    Just stumbled upon your channel and am incredibly happy I did! First video I’ve ever seen, instantly fell in love with each of your awesome clay projects, your personality and the pace/way you showed every step for each project and did voiceover to share exactly what you are doing. Along with adding your thoughts, suggestions and mistakes it was perfection. Grateful for you showing your errors/mistakes because I know that I would have done the exact same thing. So, I choose to look at them like positive learning opportunities. Excited to see more of your videos!Thank you again Elena, from your newest full bell subscriber

    Use more water while making then you don't get those cracks

    Air dry clay shrinks as it dries. If you wrap it around something, like that jar, it can't shrink so it's going to crack. The clay pot at the end of the video hasn't dried yet.

  • @elizabethhumphrey9055

    I tried wrapping air dried clay around a jar and when it dries it cracks something horrible. How do you stop yours from cracking?

    • @serenityjewel
      @serenityjewel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can't. Air dry clay shrinks as it dries. If you have something hard in the middle, like that jar, it's going to crack. You can wrap saran wrap around the jar, make the pot, and then take the jar out before it dries. I've learned to always watch at least 2 or 3 videos by different creators to make sure I have the right information.

  • @sueallen952
    @sueallen952 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did they stay together because all other videoes I've watched used a 'slip' to join the pieces

    • @serenityjewel
      @serenityjewel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Slip is just clay and water mixed together. If the pieces are small, you can just score, wet, and press them together. F

    Everything i have made so far with 3 different clays has cracked and crumbled. Im so stressed out! I love creating things as a therapy for me, but this was stressful and sad. Any help??

    • @chucky6367
      @chucky6367 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Are you conditioning the clay first by giving it a knead first? Is it drying out too fast? A damp cloth over your peice will help it not dry too fast if you are in a warm environment.

    • @susanmartin870
      @susanmartin870 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@chucky6367 yes i was. I found that the only clay that is any good in my climate and in my opinion that i have used so far is Das. But i have since switched to using polymer clay.
