I really like your Tank Style Series. You brought many beautiful obscured pieces into spotlight. Not just Cartier and Reverso again and again. I'm a fan now.
So glad to see you've made another video on Tank style watches (and added some of my suggestions too). I'm now in love with a different shape of watch- equestrian. The Ralph Lauren stirrup line is my new eye candy- very classy!
Herbelin is a great mention. I actually forgot their existing. 07:55 Exactly. I own a Frederique Constant Classic Quarz (not rectangular), which has two hands. Btw: an amazing manufactured watch. Talking about FC. Also the Frederique Constant Classic Carreé Automatic is also a great rectangular watch. But currently I'm focused on Cartier Tank Must Solar, if it's about rectangular watches.
I might have to try a tank watch, something that I just can’t see myself wearing, but would like to get something just to see if I can pull it off. Great video Norman!
I couldn’t find the SZanto on eBay, however Norman, there a few stunning not working NOS Dowels in stock from the 1940’s, tempted to buy one and have it restored.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman I’ve never had a tank watch, todays watch is a splendid, possibly hard to come by two handed - hand wound - chrome TIMEX Mercury from 1957, one year after I was born, Sunday in London at 07:28, 16C with a high of 27C, off for a splendid roast lamb dinner soon, and a visit to my favourite park in north London 👌.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman Michel Herbelin has a mechanical Art Deco on their website with a handwind SW 216-1 movement. It says the case is 33 mm x 39 mm. It may be big/long if that doesn't include the lugs?
@@KillingTimeWithNorman If you haven't checked yet I should have mentioned it is a Tonneau shape. It's not as pronounced as most but it's definitely not rectangular either. However it does have a sub-second dial and NO date complication.
Hi Norman. I have heard of Michel Herbelin. LIP were once a huge company. I saw today that Gucci have a rectangular men's watch in their current line up.
I'm glad your video features the Lip Churchill. I did mention it in a comment on a previous episode of your rectangular dress watch series. T18 is genuinely the name of one of Lip's in-house mechanical movement, the one who was in the watch given to Winston Churchill by the French government after ww2 in a gold version . Today there's not only a quartz version around 200 euros, there is also an automatic version with a Japanese movement around 500euros. (You have to pronounce the last sound of Herbelin as the last sound of Ulysse Nardin, as the last sound of "vin" or "pain" (wine and bread in french))
Yes, but mechanical one seems too big compared to original Churchill. The t18 quartz is the best modele in my mind (to slide it through a shirt, what is the real purpose of the original watch).
I desperate want to add a tank style to the collection; I just haven’t found one that really just hits the trifecta of love it, can find it, can afford it. I might just have to engage in some actual buffeting and save up for the Oris or a used Cartier.
Hi Norman. Your late-night editions have become a staple of mine. Keep up the great work. By the way, the first timepiece on this video is properly pronounced as Bruno "Maali", with the G being silent. I've been a huge fan of their footwear for more years than I either care to count or admit to.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman You are quite welcome. I too have been into horological pursuits for the past 35+ years. Consequently I have amassed a rather sizable collection. My dear wife is always egging me on to showcase the aforementioned collection on YT. However, part procrastination, coupled with my natural aversion to narrate on camera has prevented me from sharing with the world at large. Just maybe I’ll muster up the gumption to actually take the plunge and record it for posterity one of these days. 🤞
im involve with the herbehin watch! omg im new to watches am a guy but love small dressy watches! tysm dude I can start small now lol I was worried the Cartier tank was too expensive for plain quartz watch ...

05:31 I can't help my self. But the dial looks crooked in relation to the case.
It sure does - since it's that way in both pics - wonder if it's the curve of the crystal messing with how it looks. Hmm
