  • On the 13th of June, two university students Barnaby Webber and Grace O’Malley-Kumar were killed on the street in Nottingham followed by the murder of a 65-year-old school caretaker Ian Coates by Valdo Calocane. Calocane had originally been charged with three counts of murder, while in custody four forensic psychiatrists agreed that the 32-year-old had been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia at the time of the attacks and so Calocane's plea of manslaughter was accepted. We’re joined by the victims' parents, Emma & David Webber and Sanjoy Kumar & Sinead O'Malley, who are now calling for a full public inquiry.

Why would he need to be drug tested? He was a known paranoid schizophrenic who had been sectioned under mental health 4 times but was received zero mental health care in the months before the attack.

@@acquiesce100 I think you might have slightly misunderstood - all she was saying was that they didn’t want retaliation against any particular group of people (race, gender, sexuality ect.) which the perpetrator may have belonged to, which often happens in the wake of horrific events like this. She was making the point that none of that mattered, it was one person acting alone, don’t allow this to reflect any particular group of people ect 😊

The more and more people speak about 'mental health' you can see a lot of people don't have a clue.. Just the generic 'anxiety and depression'.. In no way are his actions excused, what he did was absolutely disgusting and i really feel for ther families... But the current mentality surrounding mental health is why these things sadly continue to happen. Unless you have experienced 'not being in your right mind' or experienced someelse in that state, i genuinely dont think people can fathom the risk and severity of the situation.
i really hope the inquest gives these families some understanding and closure, along with putting things in place to ensure these things are prevented from happening.

Just because he graduated the year before doesnt mean he was well. It is obvious he was mentally ill. He wasnt able to hold a job and was fired from multiple warehouse jobs and went to MI5 HQ asking them to stop controlling him. I do believe these deaths were predestined that they were there at that specific time - it could have been anyone! I do think Grace would've definately died wether she tried to help Barnaby or not. That evil guy would not have let anyone get away in his sight, she had no weapons or anything. We all go back to God in our own time, nothing is guaranteed except death. Rip to both.
