My theory
0:00 through 1:13 is Elizabeth. Mentions of Darkness and "pretending" (something major to Baby's character) are mentioned.
1:32 to 1:50 is Evan/Chris/Crying Child. "Ended to their flaws", them being Micheal and William, probably. The " fighting monsters" obviously refers to Fnaf 4.
1:51 through 2:05 is Micheal. "Let my pride get to my head", a dumb teenage who thought he was above dying and death due to his youth, only to see it in front of his eyes when he accidentally killed CC.
The rest is all three of them. The monster is obviously William.
William was not a good father and all had hands in their deaths, even if he wasn't the direct cause.
1. He obviously didn't keep a good eye on Elizabeth after making a murder robot who kills children. Who wouldn't guessed that a young child (when told the robot is made for her) would go near it?
2. He never stopped Michael's bullying. Micheal was never taught it was bad, and Micheal was never taught when to far was just that, to far. The fact that Fredbear's jaw so easily failed too, most likely due to poor safety precautions (though this can be debated and I agree it's not the best but it's still potentially there)
3. He sent Micheal into that death hole to find Baby. Do I really need to say why that was a bad idea?
William Afton doesn't get a verse for this reason. While he is an Afton, I really doubt the kids see him as actual family after all the bull he put them through.
Mrs. Afton doesn't really have her own verse for obvious reasons. She has almost no role in the story of Fnaf and the theory that she's even in a robot is loose at best. While I do enjoy it, I can see why she wouldn't much be considered in a song like this
This song is about the Afton kids and what others and their own father did to them.

I didn’t even notice this on my first time hearing this song, but every part is a different Afton:

This is William Afton. He thought himself to be immortal. That he could never be stopped. But after he was trapped in the Spring Bonnie suit, he was left in the dark. Now he wishes he could go back, but he has come too far. Everything he did led him to where he is now, and he can never be who he was again.

This one is a little hard, but I think this is Elizabeth. She pretends, which we learn in Sister Location. She will keep trying to please her father, and fulfil her vow. This could also be Mrs. Afton, but we know nothing about her, so eh.

This one is the most obvious. It’s Crying Child. He never went close to the animatronics because of what he saw. Maybe his sister’s death to baby? Maybe his father killing someone? Maybe something else entirely? Fighting monsters in the dark is FNAF 4 and the nightmare animatronics that crying child had to face.

This is Michael. He got cocky. He let his pride get to his head, and became a jerk. This led to his brother, Crying Child, getting killed. This led him to feeling so guilty, that he promised to wander through the past by going through all the Freddy’s locations to pay for his father’s crimes by freeing the souls. While doing this, he sees his memories afar. Everything that Afton did, and how he himself killed his brother. He is reminded of it constantly.

This is every animatronic possessed by Afton’s victims. The monster is William. Even though they aren’t part of the family, they still had their lives destoryed by the Patriarch of the Afton Family. His victims.
I think the last one is supposed to be Ballora, we know that she’s scared of the scooper, hence the stress. And the “We can only roam when the monster’s put to rest” reminds me of when the two technicians were killed. In Ballora’s eyes, they were monsters. And well, they did take her to the scooping room.
And she’s even in the thumbnail.(although Michael isn’t) I actually didn’t think about this until I saw an AI cover that had Ballora singing that part, and then it just hit me. Maybe I’m wrong though, it does also fit the children William killed.
Edit: Oh yeah, something I forgot to mention was the “seeing nothing but the dark”, this could also go with either one, or any fnaf character really. 😅 But it also gives me Ballora vibes since she is in a dark room. Also yeah, you’ll only see darkness if your eyes are closed.

@@Deertective_I mean, I’m not sure what the original intention was, but Ballora isn’t an Afton. She’s a bit of an anomaly, and it really isn’t clear yet who she is or where she came from. It could be Mrs. Afton, but there isn’t enough proof. The reason I think it’s the missing children is because this song is meant to encapsulate the impact William Afton had. His family is one thing, and all the children he murdered are another. That’s why it’s the last part of the song, and why it’s not lumped in with any other family members. It has more importance in the song, which tells me that it’s from someone who the Afton family has had the biggest impact on.

This is obviously referring to Evan Afton, the Crying Child.
He never went near the animatronics, because he knew what he saw (this refers to whatever Evan actually saw happen that made him scared of the animatronics), yet, on that day of joy (his birthday party), his life ended to the spring-lock animatronics’ flaws.

@@kaiwirt yeah there's a theory that CC was present for the death of Elizabeth which traumatized him and caused him to fear the animatronics. and just a smaller detail, it could explained the tooth-like fixtures on the stomachs of the Nightmare animatronics because as far as CC knows, that's how they devour children: through their stomachs, just how Elizabeth was killed by Circus Baby through the claw in her stomach cavity.

Each calm section references the story of an Afton Family member, and I think of it like this:
1st section: William due to him being brought too far due to past mistakes

2nd section: Micheal due to him saying he wants to stop but he continues as he vowed to undo his father’s mistakes, also saying he can only go so far references him not able to go on forever, so he goes down with his sister and father in the fire of FNaF 6

3rd section: CC due to the entire section; “I never did go near” references him being scared of the animatronics, “‘cause I know just what I saw,” references him seeing horrible things at Fredbear’s, such as the stuffing you see in game, and presumably he saw his sister’s death,

Edit: If you look at the original video for _Afton Family,_ you'll notice it suggests Springtrap is the one singing the first verse. Yes, Springtrap, who we now know is William Afton, appears in APANgryPiggy's video, but that part of the song was originally written about Michael.
