Restoring A Free GT Avalanche Mountain Bike

I acquired this GT Avalanche mountain bike for free last fall. The silver and pink paint wasn't my favorite so I tried a color changing spray paint, which turned out to be stunning. After hours of restoration work this old GT Avalanche has become good as new. Sit back and enjoy the process of brining this mountain bike back to life.

nice restore! I picked up a 2013 frame(very similar) in `18 and built up a decent street version of it. tons of miles and smiles!

I love the frame; I have one of these as well. So many upgrades I want to do to it. Someday I'll get around to it.

Nice work. The final result looks awesome should ride that way, too. I'm in the process of restoring a 2010 Avalanche for my 10yo daughter, because of course she fell in love with the most broke-ass bike we saw on marketplace. I've been a fan of GT since the 90's so I can't really blame her.

I've got 3 good bikes off Facebook market GT avalanche 26 3.0 for 25$ and a GT aggressor 3.0 for 100$ and a Cruiser 6 Schwinn for 60$ score restored the GT Avalanche 1st

Awesome video, I too have an older Avalanche I would like to modify/upgrade/restore. Could you tell me what chainring/gearing set you changed this bike to in the video or provide a upgrade parts list that you used on this bike? I would love to convert mine as well!

So it seems that this is a Avalanche 1.0, the frame is different than 2.0 and 3.0.
Or the year version is different, probably this one is from 2010.
