I miss mk3/trilogy for its aesthetic....the sound, the music, the art, it's better now graphic/character design wise but it's just too damn polished also...
@@drunkdonutboy Proof that too much CPU power and high pixel counts can work against the player's expectations; the original MKs had more appeal, less complicated characters and "simpler", more effective costumes because home consoles weren't powerful enough to render them in a hyperrealistic style so your mind 'filled in' the gaps in the "crude" 32bit graphic presentation, just as cartoonists like Schultz (Peanuts) and Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes) draw 'simply' and yet still hit home making emotional points.
At 9:57 and anywhere in this match, I've notice Cyrax voice goes deeper. Every time the net move is blocked here. Starts of normal at start tower, then all of sudden goes down an octave. Remember this happening a lot with the robot ninjas, when I use to play this on the PS1. Doesn't happen on emulators. Odd thing to point out but just remember happening a lot on the PSX.

That background was added to Ultimate MK3. Although the game was an update to the original MK3, the story actually takes place afterwards. Cyrax got stuck in the desert after MK3, but before UMK3. MK Trilogy is also non-canon, just a sort of recap of the events of MK1, 2, 3, and UMK3.
it’s a ridiculous string of button inputs that you have to do in the correct order designed for your character. some characters have it easier as some have it harder
You can't even play Mortal Kombat Trilogy on modern TVs now as the resolution onscreen looks massively pixilated. Ditto for ANY PS1 game now. Devs, remaster all of your PS1 games for 2020 consoles and Hi-res monitors, 4K screens and enjoy a tidy little permanent revenue stream for decades to come!

I never could execute most of the special attacks due to having to get the right order of d pad moves & buttons in a very short time while trying not to get killed!
Wait did you have to manually do the brutalities?? I remember having this game but always inputting one button fatality’s. No way you had to hit each button until they blew up
