I met and married my Taiwanese wife in Australia and she is the most wonderful lady I have ever met and being married to is the best thing I have done in my life. I have visited Taiwan several times and i have found people amazingly friendly and welcoming even when I travel on my own. Taiwan is stunningly beautiful and being such a successful happy and peaceful nation you will extremely happy to visit there

Most of time, people from China may overlook the variety of cultures in Taiwan. They may think Taiwan has no difference to what they have in China. The biggest irony is, for Chinese people, gorgeous buildings or skyscrapers are the critera to judge a modern city. All that may be a joke!

There are many things that the CCP can learn from Taiwan, but China also wouldn't be as powerful or economically successful if it wasn't because of the CCP. I'm a Chinese American and I have families in Taiwan, HK and China and I must say their perspectives on things especially politics is just as stubborn like everyone else. We have to see things with a more balance view, and I don't think your support on those things make it dangerous to travel to China. Totally different. UK colonised those places and they are very far from Britain. Taiwan is part of China and the KMT fled there after losing the civil war. Most of the world recognised the KMT government in Taipei as the government of all China up until the 70s. Taiwan calls itself the republic of China, meaning they still claim to be the legitimate govt of all China. But most countries recognise the PRC and accept the international norm that Taiwan is Chinese territory.

Well.....I can’t understand that why not only several foreigners but also a great number of Taiwaneses urge all Taiwanese should ignore political barriers and make friends with each other.
    1. Why those guys don’t urge Americans or Japanese to make a friendships with Chinese?
All in all, there’s no denying that Taiwan isn’t China’s family. And there’s no necessarily to particularly urge Taiwanese to make friends with China.
Contrarily, no one would extraordinarily urge Americans to make “friends ”with Chinese.
    -
    2. The most important is that not only Chinese government but also Chinese people(like those groups inclusive tourists) should stop using colonial attitude to Taiwan!
(Well see those Chinese patriots in Australia and Canada)

It’s a complicated and controversial issue.
I think it’s impolite to use schizo before you know the history of Taiwan and basic international law information.
      -
1.My above opinions’ China is indicating the People of Republic of China.
      -
2.Actually, didn’t clearly indicate whether Taiwan’s sovereignty is belongs to ROC or not.
And Taiwan’s populations could date back to thousands of immigrants from Qing empire,Ming empire, Netherlands, Japan, and so on.
The connection between Taiwan’s populations and China is just the 1949 immigrants.
By the way, the concept of China hadn’t been put forward until the end of 19th century. So,the Ming empire is just a past nation of Chinese history, not a represent of China. And Qing empire actually was ruled the Chinese area not one of the China in history academics.
      -
3.To sum up,the ROC government indeed possesses governance to Taiwan, but Taiwan’s sovereignty has been a controversy.
I can’t understand why you think Taiwan has such a deep connection with China.
      -
4.Contrarily, you would not particularly tell the residents of Thirteen Colonies that they are England, and they couldn’t deny all connections with England.
And so does the all nations that independent after WW2.
      -
5.I don’t deny all connection with China. In Taiwan, people celebrate several Chinese holidays. And there still some communications of academics, economy, and transportation .
Why you can resolutely tell I deny all connections?
      -
6.Thank you for your significant questions.
And I am still willing to help you understand all your problem of Taiwan.
I’m so regretful of my terrible English skill.

Hey! That would be really helpful if you could create them actually, as I don't speak Chinese. You can do it through this link: th-cam.com/users/timedtext_video?ref=share&v=NDcTZkCG2mw

I am quite sure anyone who has lived in both countries don't think "it's very similar to China". I kinda feel it's like saying Singapore is similar to Malaysia, or SK to NK, cos they share some common grounds.

    • @civicblade1
      @civicblade1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Of course Taiwan/Taipei is more similar to Xiamen then to Paris. It is all relative. Taiwan is more like China than Taiwan is to any European cities. This is very honest viewpoint coming from a mainlander who is living in Europe.
