Today’s paranoid police are scared stiff of a guy with a camera taking pictures of empty docks!!!!!!! Remember, there is still one road out of this town.

Never seen one in the flesh before so out came my 35 mm camera and my accompanying lack of skills . . . No ships have been launched or built-in many years. The yard is 100% a submarine construction facility with all launches from the front of Devonshire Dock Hall which is now nearing 40 years old. The level of security is because of the work that goes on there and it is also a designated nuclear site. Armed police were not called, they are the routine police that patrol and are responsible for the entire site. They are armed because of the site they are working on. Seems like you were more focused on attention rather than making a documentary.
The current climate of unlimited spending on untrained cops fitted with every device you can think of for no apparent reason.... What a waste of tax payers money 💷
