Adding a massive Novawinch to our Unimog offroad RV

Chad creates a plywood mockup of the winch plate, then TJ from Sixgun Offroad fabricates the winch mount, then Chad paints it and does final install.

Winch looks awesome, however I suspect that sucker will draw some amps . Make sure you run proper 2/0 or 4/0 copper welding cable to that winch. Also you will need a pretty good AGM battery and make sure you run a high idle when using it. Invest in a snatch block and some good straps. The bumper winch mount looks great but take into account if the suspension is really tweaked it will warp the plane the winch is mounted on which may be an issue. With Unimogs always think triangles, not squares ;)

Love your excitement at the un-boxing!! Your fabricator has made a really excellent job of that mount - and a great idea of yours to create the template with ply. Can’t believe you were able to lift it into place and remove it on your own. I needed someone to help me lift mine into place 👍.
