Huawei Band 8 Review - All Screens, Weather, Workouts, etc.

- Before I bought my Huawei Band 8, I had a lot of questions. I wanted to know about the heart rate monitor, the steps, the sleep monitor, the watch faces, but most importantly, I wanted to actually see all the screens on the watch. Too many of the reviews I found online were just little snippets. So I hope this review gives you a more thorough, unedited view of this watch so that you can decide if you want to purchase it or not.

Calling no. Messages to RESPOND yes, BUT only on Android. Can RECEIVE messages on iOS but not respond.

Can you use stopwatch while also tracking a workout? Basically if I wanted to time my sets while also tracking the workout alongside without pausing or stopping the actual workout mode?
Unfortunately I don’t think that’s possible. You can swipe between music and your workout
@@SimonG3 damnit that’s like a big turn down for me. You know any bands under 50 bucks that might be doing that? While also being as accurate as this band 8
Your Amazon link leads to the Band 7. I recently got my Band 8 from AliExpress, but of course it’s the China version. I can’t seem to find the global version anywhere.
Some thing I’ve found is that there are features that don’t work if you’re in the US but have the Chinese version, ie Strava won’t connect and you can’t get more “faces” (on iPhones at least).

When swiping right it was used to show some health info oxygen,steps ...etc
Now when I swipe right I get nothing ?

Found it! On your watch you go to "settings" , custom cards, press the "add" button and choose which things you want to see on your screen!

Does this watch work with iOS ?
Does anyone actually use fitness watches for thier function or is it like a visual motivator to make one feel like they are doing something? I mean steps per day is pretty useless without a clear goal, you can just walk few time aruond the block if your goal is general fitness. If you go out of your way to track exact numbers then you should have an exact goal and I would expect a review to include exporting features, and can you import the data into a spreadsheet for analysis and progress tracking ect.
All smartphone will tell you the weather and temp, there is no situation where that would be critical information that a watch needs to tell you.
Hey only had the watch less than a week so not sure if this is an update or not, but on the health app under notifications- there seems to be an "other" toggle and I was definitely getting pretty much all my phones notifications. Test it out?
Yes thanks for the comment - the issue there is you literally get every notification, which wasn't what I was hoping for - but if that works for you, then that's great
@@SimonG3I think there is a way to toggle what notifications go under Other, but I don’t know how to yet. Also I figure we could use the Focus modes on the phone to mitigate random notifications.

It vibrates, yes. It does not make an alarm sound.

I Wouldn't say it scratches easily, no. The watch strap is rubber - it's for sport. If you want a breathable strap you need to buy one :)

Got my band 8! Did a real quick walk of just 50 steps, it got measured 48. Happy to know it improved somewhat, over the year

I'm getting this watch in 4 days mainly for tracking steps but hearing that it isnt accurate sucks ☹️
I would say that overall it actually tracks fine. And also you can put it into walking mode which might make the tracking more accurate. You will enjoy the band don’t worry 😊

With sound, no. It vibrates.

I actually think it is more accurate after recent software updates - considering a new one is about to be released - you could find one of these for cheap and they are a good option.

How do you download apps on the watch
It doesn’t support new apps. But supports new faces. You do it in the huawei health app
Having thoughts of buying this one for the watch faces,heart rate,sleep tracking and most importantly step tracking since I'm overweight,
But it looks like a complete waste of money -_-
I'll just stick to my traditional digital watch unless these budget category fitness devices starts to show accurate results
I would say it’s accurate enough for 40 bucks. If you really want perfection you need to buy a Samsung or apple ($$$)
Heart rate is actually very accurate. Only sleep tracking is wacky.
Have you noticed that the weather can not be updated constantly? I am wondering whether its an issue or its the normal function of the weather....
Usually it does pretty well. Once in a while it doesn’t update constantly. But usually it does.
