    The lens cap on this thing is bad. It requires the adjustment of the focus all the way back to put on, meaning you have to adjust it every time its taken off. Do you have any recommendations for a replacement cap that will fit over the extended lens?

    Hey, nice review. Have you ever messed with the TOPTRO TR80?
    Have both this and the toptro, kind of disappointed in the sound from the TopTro two speaker system vs the Jimtab single, but the TopTro seems to have more features and settings than the Jimtab. After calibrating both of them, the picture seems identical.

    • @CandidTechTV
      @CandidTechTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! So a lot of the budget projectors in this range and even a bit more expensive will still struggle in daylight. It all depends how you're going to use it in the daytime. If it's under cover, that's one thing but even the $600-800 BenQ projectors I have tested struggle with direct lighting coming into my living room. This model is definitely best for night time use but does okay in a well darkened room during the day. Any light you get though is just going to wash out the screen more and more.

      Yes you would have to get a Roku player of your own. I have the Roku premiere that I received for free a couple of years ago with a 3 month prepaid Sling TV prescription. I love it. You can always search used or find a deal like that. You could also use a DVD player or gaming system with built in apps if you would rather as well.

And was there a 720p Projector that compares to this one for half the cost Im looking to get my first projector can the screen size be variable depending how far or close you mount the projector?

    • @CandidTechTV
      @CandidTechTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are your speakers bluetooth at all or is optical the only way you can connect? This projector does not have optical. Just the aux in. You could use a bluetooth transmitter with the projector to your speakers if they support bluetooth however.

      Hey, here's a video I made on how to connect things to your projector: th-cam.com/video/hagvChEryyc/w-d-xo.html
      You can basically hook up anything by HDMI that you would hook up to a TV. So for football, you'd connect your TV box by HDMI if you have cable or your computer if you're streaming online.

    • @CandidTechTV
      @CandidTechTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! It's 30,000 hrs. This is from their Q&A section:
      "The life of the Led wick is 30,000 hours. It can last about 16 years if used 5 hours a day. At the same time we provide 3 years of after-sales and warranty services."
      My experience with all of these LED projectors is their theoretical "lifetime" is going to far outlast most people's uses for them. You'll upgrade before that theoretical time is up.

      Candid Tech TV well the projector I had was a apeman sc560. I tried the steps you’re recommending prior to me texting you and it didn’t work. I then tried just connecting my ps4 and it wouldn’t project. I already returned it, but what would you recommend because I have 4k devices. Again I much appreciate your time.

      It's not quiet, but it's on par with others I've tested and it all depends on where you set it up in relation to where you're sitting. An external speaker hooked up really helps.

    It's strange how these budget projectors sport the same generic design choice just different branding

      It's Not really strange. You hit it dead on. Different fly by night companies slap their logo and then ship from the same factories. I got a basic one too.

      Yep this happens with various models I have learned. So you can sometimes shop around and get a better deal if you know the actual model number!
