How to make a display case

Can you think of a way to secure the display case to the base? I'm working on a project where the object inside might "walk away" as it'll be out in public. The powers-that-be want it to be accessible AND locked down. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The mating edges of the panels should be routed, or saw cuts may show. Just set up a fence and pass each panel 1/32" or so.
