I seen this weird bug/glitch on this game on ps1 watching my step dad play, a car driving same lane in a city level opened his car door and was half out his car as my step dad flew past, anyone experience this?
I remember laughing so hard once when i hit a car going over 200 miles and the game glitched making my body fly into the air for so long i made in through the finish line 1st place. 🤪🤣
These races were never easy and required constant attention for those lengthy durations which made it so addictive. The soundtrack and artwork was top-notch. Overall a masterpiece of a game.
As I got older still playing this on an old desktop I learned to avoid starting fights. Less likely to be attacked by other characters and easier to focus on not crashing
The game is perfect the way it is! I'd maybe remaster the video sequences and add more melee weapons, new tracks, more characters, maybe put in a trials edition...but gameplay wise there's very little to improve on. Even the graphics work.

We used to play it in our school's computer lab secretly back in 2003-04 when we were kid. Someone had installed this game in our computer. What a nostalgic moment it was, plying and hiding from teacher.
What a game... In order to play it you had to insert the CD-ROM, otherwise it wouldn't work (just like a lot of other games back then). It was hilarious to watch the other competitors getting thrown at the sky when they crashed at high speed against other cars and stationary stuff like trucks and houses. And the times when you had to punch and kick the police and the opponents, or use the chains or the baseball bat 😂 And running over pedestrians and other racers, even the cops when they fell off their bike 😂😂 Good trip down Memory Lane! 🏍⛓
Yes back then there was no downloading you needed the cd. But back then the game was actually finished and you didnt need constant updates hoping it would fix the game. Todays gaming is a joke

Good times. RR was my fav racing game for MegaDrive and when I got my hand on my first PC, an IBM Aptiva with 4mb RAM, I remember it struggling to run as the game required at least 8mb RAM. I still played it with a super low frame rate tho.

when I was 12 years old. I couldn't speak a word of english. we had computer classes and somebody installed road rash on one of them. because none of us can read english so when we start the game we had to do trail and error in an attempt to start the game. that moment when we finally guessed the right combination to start game and begin playing was beyond satisfaction. I will never forget the joy of watching a pixel spirit falling off the bike and run back two miles just to get back on.
I spend so many hours playing this. I will seat in class counting the hours until I got home to play it. I was so addicted to it specially when you were so close to buying that 1 bike you wanted from the start of the game 😂
Such an amazing and simple game, my favorite was always Road Rash 3 for Genesis. I think that one had better sound effects, there was nothing more satisfying than stealing someone's weapon and then using it against them.

I remember feeling such a sense of achievement when I got the fastest bike in the game after a couple of grueling months, those were the good old days. The first time I took that bike out I was in heaven, that thing smoked everything else on the road lol. Damnit now I have to play it again, I've got my Bluetooth gamepad around here somewhere, just gotta download the ROM and I'll be racing in no time. I friggin love emulators, I've got the entirety of the PS1 game library at my fingertips...

The same happened with me. The more hilarious part is how the character gets up and starts running to get on the bike again.
The most fun part is when you when you crash in city you hop through several buildings & it would take a minute to find the bike.
