Where you doing Longsword just a minute ago and will be doing it again since that equipment is definitely overkill for Smallsword. Also, you can't have the necessary agility for the Smallsword with all that gear on you, it's way to cumbersome.
@@miroslavm2503 I was doing longsword before this yes. Plus most of my gear is tied onto my gambeson, though I definitely could have gone without the chest plate. I put it all on out of habit more than anything 🤣
The equipment is more than strictly needed for smallsword but I respectfullly disagree that it inhibits your agility - I regularly fence smallsword in full gear (admittedly not with the breastplate) and it is perfectly reasonable :-)
