I had the pleasure of seeing this band live. Saw them with Wolves in the Throne Room. Atmospheric is the most simplistic way to describe the whole show.
Myrkur is the project of Danish composer, vocalist and classically trained multi-instrumentalist Amalie Bruun, who unveils two ethereal new studio tracks with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Paradise Lost, Solstafir, Cathedral) at Orgone Studios in Bedfordshire, England. A-Side "Juniper" is a gorgeous and powerful ballad that immediately hooks the listener with it's infectious chorus and lush string arrangements while "Bonden og Kragen" is a solo reinterpretation of a traditional Danish folk song from the 1600's. Together, both tracks exquisitely capture Myrkur's eclectic sound and captivating personality. A limited edition 7" will coincide with the digital release.
Doubt shes classically trained she does own instruments she can play couple of chords but we have seen her guitar tutorial and she has no skill sorry if anything shes a beginner its not a good move to tell people shes classically trained when she struggles to play 2 chords..

This is the most powerful piece of music i have heard in a while. The song paired with the haunting black & white music video creates a beautiful kind of melancholy i rarely see in the music world. This is music that speaks to your soul!

They both have released entirely folk albums this year, and yeah, their voices are pretty similar, not to mention that Norwegian and Danish are similar too.

i'm not surprised this is by the same producer who does Solstafir's stuff. This is much closer to post-metal than what she usually does. Can't tell if i like it yet.

She is amazing. An artist of epic proportions. A fresh perspective. She has yet to disappoint...even Ex Cops was well executed. Metal...music in general needs more souls like Amalie Bruun.
