Hole in the shell may not be what you say broken. It could be the hold made by another Mollusca. I used to see clam shells that had holes like that and it ends up being made by a Moon Snail. They make a hole, then have dinner. I have some fossilized clam shells that have the perfect round hole.

Its surprising how tricky and time consuming it is to get a reasonably long enough recording of uninterrupted sound. I hope to do a bit more this year. Good luck with your plans! :D

Oh after Storm Babet, we had Ciaran, Debi, Elin, Gerrit and then Henk .... and all of these in the space of a few weeks! Accompanied with a lot of rain and floods... Thankfully Storm Henk mainly happened around England and we were spared !

I still see rocks that I had invastigated closer 😉😉

We get a lot of enquiries if we do tours but we don't due to insurance reasons... there is always a risk of slipping on rocks or in bottle dumps of stepping onto broken glass or fall into 6ft deep holes! I mainly keep the stoppers in a jar but have made jewellery with just stopper stems :)
